    Watch the Amazon redirects- I see this sometimes has other sellers at >200 USD. It was only ~125 when I accepted it for review. I can't control the supply and pricing changes I'm afraid.

      Amazon also has the identical BaKon bk881 .. to my eyes watching teardown videos of both they're the same. $80 ($72 after coupon). This DS882 is $90.

    This thing is really spectacular in terms of the fast heating. I just turned on the soldering station and automatically I saw the tip temperature racing up to the setpoint temperature it seems like about two seconds it raced up to 380deg C. I told myself the displaying is definitely incorrect because it could never heat up that quick. I put some solder on tip and it melted instantly. You have to see it for yourself to understand how impressive that is. The bad thing about it is unlike your station the soldering iron doesn't come separate with a connector to plug into the station, but wired on to the station itself which makes it feel less premium and could possibly create a whole host of problems.

    after reading some of these comments about the amazon link being a different model. i found the station on amazon under a rebrand it goes by the name "Muibe 2 in 1 Hot Air Rework and Soldering Station" I haven't purchased it yet but looking at the reviews it has everything shown in this video. im gonna order it and let you guys know if its the same or not

    • @marcosuarez3809

      update i purchased the muibe 2 in 1 and its the exact same hot air station that is reviewed in this video i took it apart and found the same bk881 power transformer same daughter board and everything and not some piece of iron for weight. i checked the heating element on the soldering iron and its the same as well. if your looking for the machine in the video and not the rebranded v2 as the one provided in the link to this video i suggest you guys to purchase the muibe 2 in 1.

    Thanks for the review. I was interested in getting this to replace an old Pace unit that is very heavy and has a huge footprint. I didn't like that the rework hand piece on the TOAUTO was permanently attached . Now that I see the new units have the soldering hand piece also permanently attached, that killed it for me. No way to replace the hand piece is not a good idea at all.

      Not ideal it sounds. It's really too bad. I use mine every day and I actually love it. Super fast heating, the idle function works perfectly and the handle feels great. It just works grand. Sad it sounds like they may have effed it up.

    I just bought this soldering station, when I opened it, it says v2. I quickly opened the back cover and looked inside to check what has changed.
    1. They no longer have a big transformer, instead they have small daughter board with (I kid you not) a big block of iron for weight.
    2. When you open the soldering iron tip, it lacks the small needle shaped ceramic extension that will conduct the heat all the way to the tip.
    3. The Soldering iron is no longer detachable. It is permanently attached.
    @MKMe Lab can you review the newer v2 version. Do above changes makes the station inferior? Thanks for your videos!

    • @thebirdman99

    • @Tejaye777
      @Tejaye777 2 года назад +2

      @@thebirdman99 From what he showed here the most noticeable difference is the the detachable soldering iron, with the ball socket connector just gives it a more premium look. The way the iron is directly wired to the station just looks cheap and like the wire could get a break at that point. The functionality is still very good though.
