    I recently bought these. I actually received them and immediately sent them, off to Latvia Sonarworks for them to measure and give me a custom profile to load in sonarworks headphone edition. Recommend doing that. I liked using Sienna on the master listen bus followed by sonar works. Im no pro but that is cool to use Sienna (Acustica audio).
    I bought some avantone CLA ns10s lol with amp lol.

    I had found the same thing with the Senn’s 600hd’s where the high frequencies were “muted”. The next ones in the same price range were the Audio-Technica R70x’s that had better high end detail.
    I never heard of Audeze until now, and their lower price line might fit the bill too. Thank you for bringing new (to me) brands forward that people might not see in their average music store.

    I Use Audeze LCD-2C For About 2 Years With Sonarworks Love Them

    I love headphone mixing. Especially with D-soniq Realphones. I use this with DT770's and it sounds as good as my studio monitors and translates similarly.
    I don't get paid for my work. As a hobbyist, there's just no need to spend 1k+ on headphones. Big diminishing returns, but the small difference could be worth it in a professional setting.

    What's the maximum you'd be willing to spend on a pair of headphones?

    • @guybuddy1
      @guybuddy1 Год назад

      Around 1500usd

      250. at that price i'd just buy the used car and mix in that...

      If you can actually buy a car for that and mix in it, I’d love to hear the results!

    One thing that's always missing from headphone specs & online reviews is ear cup size/dimensions, I'm not in the market for these but some other elephant-eared old man might be.
    Those Audeze desperately need a pair of deely-bopper springs with pink fluffy pom-poms or unicorns for the top of the "antennas". Ivy would love them 😀

      That’s a fair point! These are “big”.
      And anything I can do to avoid ivy ever seeing these rather expensive headphones I will!

    How coincidental as I am about to get the LCD-X tomorrow delivered to me.

    I’d like a MBL 101 X-Treme mk2 stereo system but it’s over twice the price of my used house.
    Cool headphones Sir.

    I still think the lcd-x is a better mixing headphone.
    yes the mm500 is "flatter", but IMO the hi-mids kinda sound shouty and isn't very nice to listen to for a extended period of time.

    If you have chance try Neumann NDH 30.😉

    Great video! I’ve had two revisions of the LCD X and I couldn’t mesh with them… the tuning for me was off but when I got the MM 500 they just sounded right to me.
    What headphone amp are you using and are you balanced or unbalanced ?

    • @adamsteelproducer
      @adamsteelproducer  Год назад +1

      Cool! I’m using the Schiit Audio Magnius, and currently unbalanced. The impedance on these is so low that it doesn’t seem like it would be a huge upgrade, where the old HD650s really needed that balanced output to push them properly

    I was really eyeballing with Audeze headphones
    But I personally prefer closed back hps, do you know if the closed back option from Audeze is good as well?

    • @adamsteelproducer
      @adamsteelproducer  Год назад +1

      It’s the same technology in the closed backs, so I guess they’re good too. I can’t stand them unless I’m tracking in the studio but you do you :)
