Ryan, you amaze me. I just spent 8+ mins watching you spears manure!?!? Why?? Yes, I totally enjoy your videos. Seeing the steers jumping around in the new bedding was fun too! “Wheels on concrete “!
They make different types of tracks for different surfaces . Most new machines come a universal track but you can buy tracks that are designed to run on concrete and some are what they call snow tracks and some are made for mud.. Their is people I know that change there tracks spring and fall because they use there track machine for snow plowing.. It makes a big difference
Ryan, on my hobby farm we use a Gehl 4240 skid loader aftermarket over the tire metal tracks work great for us as long as the they are tight. We have heavy clay and and light soil and they work good for my dad and I. These tracks make the skid loader hard to operate in snow and ice. I thought over tire tracks were useless until my father put it on our skid loader and we cleaned out manure with them and it kept the machine from sinking or spinning much.
Grind that corn while you run it threw the mixer anyways, you will see a even higher gain yet, grind it they will be able to utilize more of the corn compared to hole kernels
@@the1andOnlyjim I've raised tens of thousands of calves and still do all the way to finished cattle, I grind 3 to 4 mixers a week and we grind it fine that way they utilize everything in the kernel, cob corn we don't grind quite as find tho. If you can see it in the manure they didn't get everything out of it.
Whether to grind it fine or leave it whole has a lot more to do with the rest of the diet. If they are being fed forage along with it than grind it to powder. If they are on a straight grain diet than leave it whole to prevent acidosis.
the worst thing about tracks on concrete is the jarring vibration you get out of them, wheels are the smoother option for sure :) though I bet your missing the "Tele" option of the JCB :)
… Well, while the one guy is out, running the tractor and the manure spreader and the drone, the other guy could be taking a pitchfork and cleaning around the edges of the pole barn… And how do you feel about spreading on top of the hill rather than spreading at the bottom of the hill, where all the nutrients are already there….
That’s just the farmer 5 sack concrete with extra water so in self levels that not as durable? 😂 I can not see concrete of proper thickness and reinforcement having any issue with a track machine. The rubber tracks do have higher scrub forces when turning. The tracks would wear faster turning on dry concrete. The evidence would be all the black marks on concrete I.e track wear.
Great job Ryan and Dwight👌👍🙏🙂

Feels good to be free from winters grip. I didn't think this would lift my sprits as much as it did. Great video as always.
Hey Ryan it's nice to get some field work done.
Man Ryan you are getting really good flying the drone. Going through the trusses was awesome. Never seen that before.

You mean through
I've raised thousands of calves..and I prefer to pull the screen and leave the hammers engaged and run at a little better than half throttle...👍

Yall ever going to upgrade the manure spreader?
Did you ever take any video on your thoughts on the barn fire or what happened there?
I believe he can't post it yet.
Good stuff

We need rain so bad here in NE Iowa.
Good video
Never figured out why you wouldn’t have a loader tractor for handling bales, snow etc during mud and snow seasons.
Bravo, Great vjdeo - Great machines. Thank you Ryan , say hello to Rocket for me.😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Hey Ryan!! It's spring time when the 💩is getting spread!!
Every time you use the manure spreader i wonder if this is the video that is just going to die.
Do you think you will ever get a different manure spreader? That one has seen years, and I've been watching for a while now.
Price?
Oh your going to start selling beef online great idea!
Love your videos!! How many hectares do you farm on in total?
Not sure about hectares, but I think we’re pushing 1400 nowadays
Is it too early to run the chain harrow?
Hey Ryan! You should grow a handlebar mustache!

would it help if the manure was broken up by the spreader?
It's doing a decent job. That's pen pack, and most of the big clumps are likely hay, and rain will beat them down before planting time.

Nice video Ryan, when we getting a new spreader?
Yea, I am surprised the old one is still rolling right along.
He'll be using that spreader until the cows come home😁
What happened to the video about the Barn fire?? last month?
I think it was in his Snapchat that he said he can’t post it just yet
@@leebolkema9463 ahh probably for investigation/insurance reasons
