I have a 2009 King, it puts a smile on my face every time. Many racers would disagree with me but it’s a fabulous machine and feels like it could go forever
You are so right. I have an 09 also. Rode it all over the country and up to Canada. People ask how I like it and I say "It rides like a limo " !!! Love this baby - - !
The quality of the video and the sound are both awesome! Given that this was a solo ride I appreciate that there was no voice over, just enjoying the sights and the feeling of gliding on your own personal journey through them. The solitude of the solo ride brings you closer to nature. Can't match the experience in a car, not even in a convertible. Nothing beats the throbbing sound and the feel of a Harley. Nothing!
Nice video. The Road King is truly king of the road. I have ridden mine for endless miles in one day and still feel refreshed after being in the saddle all day. I’m glad I bought mine when I did as here in Australia Harley decided to stop shipping them. I don’t understand why. They are less expensive than a Road or Street glide so some may consider them less of a tourer. Nothing could be further from the truth. The RK is timeless beauty in a motorcycle that never dates. There are no sound and GPS systems to distract you. Just pure motorcycling. You can see everything through the windshield. The bat wings block so much of your view and you can take the shield off if you want. My favourite motorcycle is the RK.
cool video! ill be taking a trip like this on my Yamaha Stratoliner over spring break and hitting a few of these places. This made me wanna leave tomorrow :)
Awesome video, I think I'll be getting a road king myself. You're little fall, don't feel bad I've done it 3 or 4 times on my sportster. Once I could have sworn I put the kick stand down but nope.
WOW! Who the hell are you dude!? That was a kick-ass vid. I'm planning on getting a Road King in a few months... I lived out west most of my adult life and loved it. Great scenery and soundtrack.
Man this was a great video loved the editing and music choices I have a 16 RK and was daydreaming about a ride and you took me away thank you 😎💪🙏✨ looking forward to more , I hope one day to make the cross country trip from the east coast! Keep inspiring brother 😎
Like your ride very much)! And like Road King! The real Harley for me. Like it even more tha StreetGlide Or Ultra. Road King gives your feeling of the real motorcycle best of all, as it should be). Thank you for posting. Ride Safe!
Took a 2000 mi trip a few years ago. It wasn't smooth sailing all the way. What's a trip without challenges. And the memories, not merely the picture postcard memories but figuring out what to do. Be prepared for anything. Went from PA, Bluridge Parkway to Smoky Mt. Made it to Tail of the Dragon. Fully loaded touring bike on a damp road like Dragon that day. Halfway up, turned around. Scared the both of us. Tail of the Dragon had us fish tailing, up and down. That's a story we still tell. Crossed over to NC, up the coast, outer banks. Up into and around the Appalachians. Over 2 wk trip. I'm too old for any long trips like (trip at 62, now I'm 68) that. Tune up the bike. Start with new tires. Have a roadside assistant program (like AAA). I went with my friend. You can certainly do solo. Do it. Even the worst (other than serious crash) that challenges you you'll never regret, never.
OK, now I am inspired! I've been looking at a long road trip; life is short. I've always dreamed of owning a Road King Classic, but often wondered if it was a good choice as a cross-country tourer as it doesn't offer a lot in the way of wind protection at your legs. Welp... This video answers that question, I guess.
Enjoyed your video very much. Can‘t wait to do something similar again in the US. I also possess a RK Classic, Modell year 2011. After decades on various BMW‘s, last year I did the unthinkable and i bought this pile of steel. Best decision ever! A transporter of big riding emotions. I am just curious about the Modell driven by you. Seems to have the same handle bars as mine. Ride on mate and take care!
I took the mill outta my '96 King and it's on the bench getting the top-end taken apart, but soon as I'm done the rebuild I plan on spending my winters on the gulf and my summers on the great northern plains in traditional Ndn territory. Aho!
Great video, beautiful scenery, excellent choices to travel and share on that road king !!. Video quality , color is excellent. What model video camera did you use ? Thanks
A excellent choice I have one myself. Rode mine about 250 miles today in high winds then u appreciate the weight of it or when a semi passes by on a two lane road. I think the road king is the best bang for the buck. I don't want pay $6,000. For a stereo and a GPS no thx! I put a mustang heated seat and heated handgrips. A very nice upgrade. Get the stage 2 u will shit ur self...
thanks for your comments I needed one or two refuel in a day, and it costed about 25 dollars. and it paied about 60 dollars a day for lodging have a happy holidays and I hope you enjoy your trip
I ride a Goldwing and have done a few of these solo trips. I'm thinking about getting a Road king and doing it again. What year RK were you riding Just? Do you think I'd be ok buying a 2007 RK for a trip like this? Just want to do something different. Great inspirational video!
Sorry but it was rental so i don't know exact year. All i know was it had cruise control. I think Road King never gets old. All Road King is comfortable, great looking masterpiece.
I've always wondered what would you guys do if you have a flat in the middle of the trip on a Harley with no center stand. Or any other bike with no center stand. Love the video my friend.
wimquill won 12 volt Air compressor? CO 2 mini cylinder? Air pump? There may be other options. Not having a center stand has no bearing on the air issue.
It might be weird to say this, but this video, and this video alone is why I have a road king now. Seriously. Once I saw this video, I said, "Welp, time to find one.". So, here is a little video of my own since I was inspired by this one by TROXXOS: ruclips.net/video/YyaeClKLc3c/видео.html

The best thing about this trip ? He rode ALONE !😎😎🏍🍻
I've been doing it for 25 years
Bruce Kirk and he’s not talking thru the whole thing!
Man ain't that the truth
Yep, often the best way to go. I do huge solo trips around Australia
#lonely
Beautifully done. I enjoyed every bit of the video, perfect editing.
Not shy to take dirt back roads! A man after my own heart.
cool video! ill be taking a trip like this on my Yamaha Stratoliner over spring break and hitting a few of these places. This made me wanna leave tomorrow :)
Beautiful ride brother. I love my 2014 Road King, the best scooter I have ever owned. Be safe.
Beautiful video and beautiful bike!!! Great job capturing your story.
Just a follow up. Since I commented this video, I've bought a 2012 Road King. I have over 10K miles in 8 months. :)
By far my favorite touring video on RUclips! Must be an awesome tour!
Desertrider better than good
Greatly enjoyed seeing the western United States from your perspective. Enjoyed your Australian video as well. Thank you for sharing.
Wow!! Great video and music. Thanks for letting us ride with you! We leave for New Mexico from Nebraska tomorrow, can't wait!
Sweet Video. Road King is AWESOME !!

Gorgeous footage! If this doesn't make you ride, not sure what will. I'd like to see the map of the trip.

Like your ride very much)! And like Road King! The real Harley for me. Like it even more tha StreetGlide Or Ultra. Road King gives your feeling of the real motorcycle best of all, as it should be). Thank you for posting. Ride Safe!
The Road King brings back the escense of riding a motorcycle, no radio, etc. for me its the best motorcycle in the world!
Right on, Bro. The King makes a great touring bike, but you can still strip it down and feel the wind in your face. Fantastic bike!
I did a 5,300 miler on My Road King from South Texas to Ottawa Canada and back ! Nothing like the King baby !!
Good for you! Nothing beats a King! 😎
Extraordinary work on this video, an amazing trip :)
Dude- unreal video. The non motorcycle parts were awesome too.
this is my third time watching this video and every time I enjoy every minute of it

As promised.... I now have a RK! First trip is planned June 10!
You can always put soft lowers on it or the full hard from the Electra Glide.
Nice video! Love the road king!!
Great ride. Well done. Good eye for the art.

Arches & Canyon Lands !! Isn't it a it a fabulous ride ??!!!!
Buen video saludos desde México
What a great video greetings from Mexico
haha, your fall over at the end...i did this 5 times with a electra glide...;)
Braking while turning at slow speed compresses the front forks and tips the bike on the lean side
the best motorcycle rides are alone, but they can also be enjoyable with one other rider or two up
I took the mill outta my '96 King and it's on the bench getting the top-end taken apart, but soon as I'm done the rebuild I plan on spending my winters on the gulf and my summers on the great northern plains in traditional Ndn territory. Aho!
My 99 does the same for me, thanks for the video
I ride the same bike , love it

Just imagining how good this video would be with only the sound of the engine. (Everybody wants to be a DJ)
What a ride , awesome trip . How many days where you out on the journey ?
Great video. I plan a nice trip in March of 2016 on my new Freewheeler trike. About what did it cost you for gas and lodging, if you don't mind.
thanks for your comments
I needed one or two refuel in a day, and it costed about 25 dollars.
and it paied about 60 dollars a day for lodging
have a happy holidays and I hope you enjoy your trip
Was this just a test drive? And were they upset! Just kidding. Awesome video.

Any road trips since?! Hope this wasn’t one and done!
road kings are very nice I'm very pleased with mine...
What kind of seat do you have? Beautiful ride! Definitely one of the things on my list to do before i die.
Just curious if you still have the King after all these years? I have a 2003 and it's part of the family.
Who was the artist and song at 11:04 sounds like Eddie Money?
I ride a Goldwing and have done a few of these solo trips. I'm thinking about getting a Road king and doing it again. What year RK were you riding Just? Do you think I'd be ok buying a 2007 RK for a trip like this? Just want to do something different. Great inspirational video!

@The Missouri Piper Well I did it! December 2020 I bought a 2011 Road Glide Ultra CVO. Really like too!!!
Cool 😎 Bro
Looks like fun.
Beautiful video, great ride. What model video camera did you use ? The color and clarity was superb..!!!
Nice ride!
Thank goodness for those big engine guards...
Nice video
What kind of helmet do you have? Open face, modular or full face? I am thinking to ride cruiser too. Which one do you reccomend?
Great video. Did you take an Eagle Rider self guided tour or just rent the bike? I was thinking about doing the 3 day loop out of San Francisco.
Venison Fajitas
thanks!
at that time I just rented from Eaglerider.
I think it took about 130 dollars per a day.
Which camera did you film this with. Amazing!!!
+bikeboy0012
Thanks dude!
I used Gopro3 Black Edition.and Sony NEX- 6 some times.
TROXXOS nice video! At 10 minutes, where is the dirt road? Thanks
I use the GPS on my phone and the Sirius xm app for music with earbuds. Considering a bluetooth helmet.
Nice......Thanks!
Awesome motorcycle! Rsmf. Freedom Rider out.
What’s the name of the dealership where started and stopped?
EagleRider San Francisco
I've always wondered what would you guys do if you have a flat in the middle of the trip on a Harley with no center stand. Or any other bike with no center stand.
Love the video my friend.
Faisal AL-Maiman If you don't have spoke wheels you just plug the tire, air it up and ride off.
and the air ?
wimquill won 12 volt Air compressor? CO 2 mini cylinder? Air pump? There may be other options.
Not having a center stand has no bearing on the air issue.
oh
Gently... Once axil is pulled lay it over
Golden gate bridge hmm some ppl enjoy jumping off it seems...
What size windshield is that
What are you using to clean the windshield with. Getting stuck, dried on bugs is a chore.
Wooley689 hey rider ! Just a tip , first thing in the morning, go to the lot there is usually morning dew on the shield, motel towel works great.
yuck
how long did it take you harley rider from ireland 06 springer softail classic
👏🏼👊🏽👍🏽👊🏽👏🏼
is there no counter steering on HD?
Great adventure! Love my RKC. Checkout some of my RK videos
Wow
How does that GPS come on when you started your bike?
It's power source probably comes from something like the passing lamps or some other electrical source that is always on when the bike is on
What year is this Road King?
Merica!
This video had potential...but when there is no narration.....just music under the visuals........like nails on a chalkboard.
Lower the music volume...….. OMG other than that Great Video..dude!!
Cool I did something similar
As soon as life as a highway came on I was done. Wtf
I don't night ride much to scared of nocturnal animals running in front of me. Already hit a deer doing 70 mph slid 283 ft. Totaled my bmw 1200LT...
Nice video, but too much editing, just should let it run freely.
Well the only thing I can come up with is he's got the keys to Jay Leno's Private Stock and motorcycles hello anybody in there
ayo bro why do you have to put this crappy music instead of the glorious sound of that road king?
