Consider the following: Shockwave is always in a dimly lit control room on Cybertron when you see him, so it stands to reason that if he were on Earth in broad daylight fighting alongside the other Decepticons he would probably be drawn much more brightly.
This seems more like the toy color than the cartoon. The original seems closer, but a bit too light. If they just mixed those colors it would have been perfect

The original really lacks paint it's a shame and my biggest gripe with it. You're paying more for the paint with the plus version so I don't feel so bad keeping the original in my collection. Honestly I keep it in gun mode and display Cloud 9's Shockwave in robot mode so I don't need takara's plus version.

This is really ridiculous! Takara obviously want us to spent and spent. They should have done anime versions since MP 17 onwards. And the current plus version, should have focus on other mp figures instead rather than remake again. 🤷🏻♂️
I hate what the MP line has become. I still have my MP-4 Prime and they've come a long way from then and it's basically been all downhill imo. Cheap, inferior materials, non rubber tires, poor qc, jacked up prices, etc. It's really sad to see. I don't see it getting better in the future either.

The color of the 29+ is nicer for sure, but like you said the price is a bit too much....which is a shame.

TakaraTomy should get to work on a G1 toy-accurate G1 Shockwave where he has the toy-accurate Decepticon logos.

Not sure but generally speaking "+" has meant toon version
Initially yes, but not so much later on. 36+, 39+, and 53+ are examples where the plus was not the more screen accurate model.

I still haven't gotten a hold of the cloud 9 version for comparison, several people have told me it's the best one

29+, but that's my preference since FT is more bulky and squared off, some people really like the look of the FT tho
