By the time I left at age 11 as a "Young Partizan", I was taught how to field strip and re-assemble Kalashnikovs and several service pistols, along with loading magazines. Monthly we would have a army service member come and teach. The next iteration was to be judged on how quickly you could complete, and then blindfolded.
That was really impressive! I wish we did that in the US, it teaches them useful skills that could save their life some day. I bet it's really fun for the kids too.

i remember a few years ago when some one here in canada brought the drills up like it was terrible. i was like yeah, how dare russia want their kids to be prepared if shit were to go down.... theses are trivial skills, but having spent years doing them for "preparedness" month means that if they need those skills they have them.
Now the schools are pushing the boys to be girls and the girls to be boys.. its a very sad situation. In the 80s all my friends and I knew how to shoot and hunt.

Those people who had GTO signs were able to protect their country from the Nazis in 40s.
LOVE that your kids learn important skills like this! Having these skills also teaches them self confidence. The LAST THING American government would ever want it's citizens to have!
When I was in high school ROTC we did the disassembly/assembly with M1 Garands. We had to clean our "weapon" every week even though they had no firing pin or extractor. There was a rifle team at all the public high schools that shot .22 RF bolt guns. You could bring a .22 to school and sight it in on the range if you got permission. There weren't any school shootings.

This should be done in every country. It teaches kids to be prepared to defend themselves, their families, their towns and there home land. It also is a good friendly competition for the students and staff. I enjoyed watching it. The kids seemed to be having fun.

We had similar military trainings at school in our post soviet republic. I remember back 15 years ago it slowly faded away and they taught it less and less and nowadays is completely out of the schools. It used to be called "civil defense training" class
every year on February for many decades . that is a good Sport . Respect . This activities teach them dicipline , respect of weapons and knowledge of emergency situations which our Kids here in western europe dont have . 👍👍👍👍
The first student with the black cap was a little over zealous in his disassembly and reassembly of that AK. LOL Some of the students are rather hardcore in this winter weather with no hat or gloves.
We learned the same thing in Texas while I was a Boy Scout. This is no big deal to me. I don't think it is wrong for any country to teach it's children about weapons and the realities of the world but I'm 61 and I guess times have changed. I was given a .22 rifle for my 10th birthday but that was common in Texas for many years.

In the US, we had a version of this in the mid 1980's, I went through it for 2 years approx 11 and 12 years old. Our class really enjoyed it.
By the way, it was a public school.

My daughter is an Airforce Cadet Lt. Col. In high school, and she can fly a plane solo. I'm anti-war but I think it's a good thing for kids to know the craft.
