The anime failed to convey this, but Sylphie was shocked when Rudy introduced himself making it obvious that he didn't remembered her. She was very happy to find him again that she forgot that she was in "Fitz" mode. But Also Elinalise was right next to him so she though that maybe Elinalise was his girlfriend, that also shocked her. And then she though that he had forgotten her already, so initially she lost the nerve to introduce herself. There's also an scene that was cut out, and one of the defects of this season is that they cut out all the political reasons. Pilemon Notos Greyrat (Luke's father) was the guy who wanted Eris as a concubine. From Ariel's faction perspective, Rudeus was close to the Boreas family which is close to Gravel (The Brother that wants her dead). They don't know that Eris abandoned Rudeus, just that he is close to her, so he's a risk to her faction. While Ariel had some concerns, she cares about Sylphie and she gave her permission before hand to reveal her identity, but to Sylphie, the risk that Rudy had changed over the years and that revealing her identity could lead to problems to Ariel was something that weighted on her mind too. Pilemon is Paul's younger brother, and Paul was supposed to be the head of the Notos family, so from Luke's perspective, Rudeus is trouble since Rudy could make a claim to be the legitimate head of the Notos family (which supports Ariel). If you see in Season 1, on the episode 8 (Turning Point 1), on Rudeus Birthday, when Sauros goes crazy, he says he wants to go to war with Pilemon so he can put Rudy as the head of that house. So if Rudeus turns out to be bad, he could take the Notos house and with that destroying the only support she has and then aiding the Boreas which is helping Ariel's brother to kill her. All of this adds weight to the decision of Sylphie to not reveal herself so soon.
"A lot's happened" Yeah, like Sylphy kicking Linia and Pursena's asses along with their twenty underlings. She's the most powerful individual in that university, and hte fight landed Ariel as the student council president. And Rudeus immediately humiliated her in the mock battle.
About Elinalise's curse: In detail, she needs to uptake semen from "there" on a regular basis, or else she will die in around 10 days. Doesn't need to be different men every time, but the longer time she doesn't fulfill this curse, the stronger sexual urge she will have. Elves are long-living races and they are difficult to get pregnant, so she doesn't need to worry about getting pregnant by doing this. Of course, this curse caused trouble for her at the beginning, but after time she got used to this and made it part of her lifestyle. (That's all I can explain in the least spoilers possible.) There was a part cut from the anime that when Rudy and Elinalise traveled to Ranoa, they accidentally got lost in the woods for a week, and that's how Rudy learned her curse. Unfortunately, Rudy is currently useless on this so Elinalise couldn't use him for the curse. Elinalise is a normal student, she paid full tuition, despite she's just here to have fun with young boys.
