The funny thing about Chimera, Well, the advanced version, Gorechimera. You can first kill the lion, wait for the goat to heal the whole body and then if you kill all of them, it starts running around like an idiot with all of it's body parts dead. But you really need to let the goat heal the body first.
the one thing ive seen mentioned less in recent videos on dragon's dogma, and that is that your pawn's own actions change on how you play, like say you act completely agressive, your pawn will do the same. but if you start seeing that and thinking you could just sit back and collect items, the pawn will then start to mimic your actions as well over time.
man, it's going to be a good year of gaming already. you're making me want to pick up my switch and give this game another shot, but I'm also super curious as to how they'll go about the new game... I'm sure they'll address a lot of gripes people had with the OG though, Capcom's great at listening to feedback but they usually just take an entire game to fix or address those things LOL
You CAN actually kill the lion without killing the whole Chimera. The goat takes over and the Chimera becomes much less likely to engage in melee, and prefers to cast spells.
I've played a little bit of Dragon's Dogma and thought it was Good* (had so many cool aspects, but the clunkiness really got to me). I've been meaning to give it another shot. I feel like once I properly get into it, it'll be really fun. All the creativity and uniqueness and jank that feels like it'll endearing once you get used to it. And of course I'm very excited for 2. All the good parts of the first in what will hopefully be an actually Good-without-the-asterisk™ game.
I feel the same way. Dragon's Dogma is a game that I wanted to love, but it never quite came together for me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't feel like finishing it either. To borrow an old cliche: I think I liked the idea of the game more than the actual game. Here's hoping DD2 can deliver on the promise.
My biggest issue with dragons dogma unfortunately is the protaganist AND all of the party members are silent characters. It really hurts any characterization And storytelling chances you have in the game. And yes i realize the pawns say random shit in combat but that’s really it. They have no character arcs.
Unfortunately, having a voiced protagonist in an open-ended sandbox RPG where you create your own character and everything about them, rarely works out well. Maybe this time pawns will have more characterization, though. We got into several pawn story arcs in Dragon's Dogma 1, maybe they did something for our pawn in the sequel. It doesn't help that pawns are emotionless puppets, and they only start to become more human after years and years of adventuring with their Arisen.
I liked your coverage on the Magick Knight. I played this so many years ago and loved the strider into Magick Archer. But I think if i were to play it again - I'd play to it's strengths and go with that truly unique class. The story in this game was absolutely bonkers too. Or maybe i was just too confused lol. DD2 looks absolutely incredible.
Do it, I had it there for ages - played it for less than an hour and uninstalled it because I thought naw this is not for me - gave it another shot after watching a similar video because I thought all these people can't be wrong and they weren't. It was me, I was wrong. I think what made it even better was every gripe I had with the not so good parts of the game got me excited for how the sequel would improve on those parts.
man that Xenoblade Chronicle X OST is all I needed to be happy Also the lion can actually be killed before the goat and the snake the goat takes control on the body and will focus more on magic, Its kinda gruesome how the lion head just flops around when you kill it before the rest
Dd1 is great to me, because i can see what they were going for. It feels unfinished even with Dark Arisen, but the potential is through the roof. Given Capcom has been on an absolute tear these last few years, DD2 is my most anticipated game of '24 so far
@@omensoffate I felt the same way about Elden Ring. I like a lot of aspects of the game, but I found myself sick of riding through empty plains before I even made it to Stormveil castle, and I found myself often hurrying through most of the areas afterward. I think if I replayed it and just made it a glorified boss rush, I'd probably enjoy it, but of course that's not really the goal of an open-world game, lol.
thing is, Elden Ring was amazing the first time playing, after you finish it, playing it again is painful, its not like dark souls... i hope it gets a good replayable experience
@@HollowBagel I'm pretty sure MH will be a more famous game just because it's so much more vast in scale. Dragons Dogma is a great game but it's a relatively focused single player story experience, it has much less of that "live" quality that MH gets with all the monster updates and events. Besides, i feel confident in saying Capcom is aiming to break all possible molds when it comes to MH whilst DD2 is pretty much just more of the same good thing.
@@NKal Have you played the Online? They just made more teleport locations, then you needed to run in the areas, since theyre smaller than the games but more full of things, but divided by areas, and most having a portcrystal, also better stamina depletion rate so you dont need to stop running all the time out of combat
Hey, we do not know each other but I would like to tell u that despite all the bad that you have done in your life, GOD still loves you and wants you to be with him (GOD), all yoi must do is to trust in Jesus like how u would trust in parachute when jumping out of a plane and you must be willing to turn from your wrong doings and do what is right🎉❤😊
With the bullshit that Capcom is pulling with their attack on mods, I have no desire to support such garbage business practices. They pretty much killed any and all excitement for any of their games. Good thing I got Granblue Fantasy: Relink coming out.
This game was completely killed for me by the lack of fast travel so i hope the sequal makes fast travel available so you don't spend 3 hours walking from quest to quest
I hope it doesn't because fuck I loved having to work to get places and plan routes until I had my eternal warpy rocks. Made me stop think and appreciate the dangers I routed through.

You could set your pawns inclinations at the inn at Grand Soren.

Been waiting for this since I picked up dragons dogma on the ps3. So ready
Listening to xcx and crosscode music in a yt vid background is refreshing. U play good games dude

Great video aside, is that CrossCode music I hear in the background? 😁 (I might just be hearing things though lol)
I'm glad I didn't skip the ad, that "or do I" and music caught me off guard
Talks about dragons dogma, opens with fire emblem music. Love it lol
I agree with everything overall, just wanted to say that you could jump while climbing even in the first game just had to time it right

Grigori really redeem the story
you can actually kill the lion first with magic attacks, which will send it in a frenzy state
also normal attacks works but more difficult though
I've had Dragon's Dogma on my backlog for over a year. This video has solidified that I will be playing this game next.

Octopath background music? BASED.
Dragon's Dogma comes out during PAX East. I plan to play on the steam deck while I'm there! Are you going?

Excellent highlight of the og's strengths
This game is going to pop off.
I loved the 1st game but calm the hype, game is not out yet
4:31 memento's a banger
W for using the three houses music
I would say the First masterpiece of this year has to be Prince of Persia, it IS really Clean
If the map and world can invoke HALF the wonder and curiosity as Elden Ring I will be happy.
Elden ring was empty 😂
@@omensoffate says guy filtered by The tree sentinel.
@@DI_IDER lol no but nice try. Seriously the game has good spots but suffers by the boring open world copy and paste design

Man i just cannot wait anymore, i want to play this game soo bad...! I'll literally eat the whole game up and leave nothing on the whole map.
Nice octopath ost
One of the best game i've played
DD2 will be Capcom's next masterpiece, but only until MH Wilds releases, then it'll take all the cakes lmao.
Doubt
I can't decide which one will be better overall.. Leaning towards MH Wilds, just because World was so utterly fantastic, but we'll see.

Sounds like a more chill Divinity Original Sin 2👍
Surely the title should have been "Capcoms next materpiece". Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be the first masterpiece of 2024.
That's a very subjective opinion.
5:27 lemme guess, you use davinci resolve too?
yeah...
I feel your pain. Good video tho, looks like you put a lot of work into it and it shows
i honestly think granblue relink will be the first masterpiece of 2024, ofc dragons dogma comes after it because of release dates lol
its the GOAT
Took youtubers liking the game again for boys to give it a chance😂
what is the title of background song at 7:40?
Octopath Traveler OST - Battle II
I really hope we have a mount this time around
Nah your only mount is the harpy you use to get to higher place
Nah just double or triple the portcrystals
@@bezovrinho that would be helpful too. Though it would have been fun to ride but maybe it would take away from the exploration.

I just want a chance to play online in this game world the first game was so good just please capcom add online 😭
They already said this will be a single player experience.
Playing Witcher 3 in the meantime.
No
2024's first masterpiece is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown!
No
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth comes out before this tho
As long as you dont put english dub that game gonna be masterpiece
well i hope they dont f it up

Dark Arisen already fixed it
Bro doesn't know about the eternal ferrystone
I hope it doesn't because fuck I loved having to work to get places and plan routes until I had my eternal warpy rocks. Made me stop think and appreciate the dangers I routed through.
I like the system, it rewards time. You get the port crystals and place then strategically. You get 4 and that’s really all you’ll need
It just need auto walk button that's all
