I also kinda feel like you're a little teeny tiny bit too hard on yourself, you literally just went out of a spine surgery that could've left you paralyzed only a month ago!! Your body is asking you for rest, so you shouldn't feel bad for resting it 💕 its understandable that you want to put in the work for uni bc u wanna do your best, but if your body is struggling to keep up with recovering a major part of your body on top of keeping up with your daily activities, its no longer your best 🌺 your best shouldn't consist of pushing your body over its limit and i hope you remember that 💝
it's a slow curve of getting very productive again, especially with your recovery and going from doing nothing all day to uni all day, so don't be too hard on yourself
I hope the uni are looking after you and they know you’re back. Wouldn’t want you to be left alone with no support after the op. But seriously girl you’re doing the most and you should make sure you look after yourself xx
I love how real this vlog is showing the difficult parts. My cousin is studying law in her first year and she's so clever it's bit intimidating. She's got a first on every single essay and law exam, been on 2 law office open days and got a summer scholarship! My first year was a train wreck 🤣. I love your first year uni experience vlog makes me realise I'm not the only one who struggled.
Don't be so hard on yourself! You've just had surgery and it's okay to be tired and have to rest more! Also 100% okay getting a taxi to uni if that's what gets you into uni and doing work! You don't want to push too much now and cause more damage. If it helps, I know personally I'm more productive if I split my time between the library and my room. It helps keep the library a place of work rather than going for the sake of it.
Well, first of all, I'm very glad to see you're recovering and don't have pain anymore. ..and now I've got some solutions for being productive which have worked for me so far: the first thing is spending some time in pure nature when you can take a deep breath and hear the singing birds while you are sitting beside a green tree under the blue sky and smell the wild flowers. Believe me, nature can cure anything and inspires you to be not only active and refresh but also opens your mind and makes you productive. We humans should sometimes return to our origin which is the nature to refresh our mind & soul. My second suggestion is try to give yourself a reward when you finish writing 2000 words in a special amount of time for instance. My third suggestion is watching your favorite movie or tv series after finishing a task. My fourth suggestion is taking a shower whenever you're not in the mood of studying or writing and after you finished with showing then try studying or writing again. I don't recommend watching other's videos to get inspired because as for me, whenever I do that, I have to watch more videos and waste so much time without reading or studying. ( of course this tip might only work for me cause people are different )...these are the tips which help me to be productive whenever I'm bored or not in the mood, hope they can help you as well ♥
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this comment! Honestly some parts of my campus are so beautiful we have little rabbits and squirrels it’s so lovely!!🌳🌿🐿🐇 yess rewards are so important. Thanks for sharing your tips x
You can do this Selina! You just had surgery a month ago and you're still doing amazing!! I know what you're going through, different course and different uni, but i'm in my third year too 😂 my 12,000 word History dissertation is due on Tuesday and I just feel unmotivated, but you can definitely push through this and get the amazing grade you deserve! ❤️ Remember to rest if you feel like it though and don't feel guilty, if your body is telling you to rest it probably has good reason to do so, you got this!!!! ❤️💕
If this helps I’ve been in a massive rut after the Easter break - I got all my mock grades back and was a bit disappointed with them and combined with other things it’s just left me incredibly unmotivated which isn’t like me at all and I haven’t felt like this in a while... so if I’m struggling after a couple of disappointing grades, you’ve literally just had a major spine surgery and you’re already doing a lot better than I am! honestly considering how soon you’ve moved back to uni and how much pressure you’re putting on yourself, I think you should be really proud of yourself for just being able to come back to uni and go to the library etc you’re absolutely smashing it!!!🥰 also, what are your plans for Exeter (like when are you staying until?) xxx
Aw bless you, I know how you feel 😞 it’ll get better, at one point or another your motivation will hopefully bounce back 💗 thank you so much! I think I’m staying till beginning on June xxx
It must be the time of the year or semester or something. I’ve been so slack with motivation and productivity lately 😭😭😭 But you’ve got this! You’re so close to that finish line ❤️
There is an app which helps me with productivity during exam season! It’s called ‘flora’ and you set a certain amount of time where you can’t go on your phone while you grow different trees or flowers (lol sounds weird) but basically if you set longer times you get different plants 😂 you can also grow plants as a group (I usually do it with my friends!!) and then if anyone goes off the app the whole group will lose the tree (so you don’t want to be the one to let the team down) 😂💪🏽 I’m motivated because I want the prettiest & pinkest garden 🌸🌺🥰😂😂
Hey Selina, I use Nailene super glue for my nails (its a nail glue.) It keeps my nails on for 2 weeks! its £1 from savers, if not boots sell it! so glad you're uploading again xx
Im not sure if this could help, but i find that speech-to-text helps me so much bc it doesn't feel like solid work bc you're just saying it into the earpiece mic. It really works when i have bad anxiety but still need shit done, and all i have to do left is just edit 🌺
I should probably elaborate: speech-to-text on my phone's ms word app/note and either edit everything on the ms word app or email myself the note to edit on my laptop
They were really fast in my experience! Only annoying thing is that once my order got shipped out in separate chunks so I didn’t received everything at once x
For study motivation I mainly watch Ruby Granger, PaigeY , and Ali Abdaal . I hope you get more productive before the end of the week. Be kind to yourself, you are doing your best! :)
Perhaps Selina could get a tiny suitcase to carry her stuff untill her back is fully healed. Once I had so many heavy textbooks at the end of term I had to put them in a suitcase to return them to the library 🤣
Hey this is kinda a random question but why couldn't the surgeon just tighten up the screws again or replace them with new ones instead of taking the top bit out altogether?xx
Because the loose screws + the one that moved likely damaged nerves (hence my pain) so he said the spine needs to heal from that first before considering putting new ones in. Hopefully I won’t need new ones put in xx

This is the loveliest message thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree with you there! Listen to your body as you will regret it in the long run if you ignore it. Take care of your body lovely one!

Wow didn't realise you'd go back to Exeter so soon!
Neither did my mum (much to her dismay)!

Thank you lovely!!! Ooo I’ll try that, it’s usually uni is where I’m productive and my room is just to chill 😂

Ooh thank you! That sounds similar to the forest app that my friend uses 🌿 that’s actually such a good idea especially the group setting 😂🌷

Thank you lovely that’s a great idea!! I revise by talking out loud anyway but I could defo try it with essays 💜
Selina Ozay I tried it for the first time on my most recent essay and it helped so much. Just to have all your thoughts down and then edit the rests
Have you considered a backpack with wheels?
No I haven’t! My boyfriend carries my bag for me or I get a taxi!
Hi Selina what was your experience with Zaful like? I want to order off them but am a bit hesitant!
They were really fast in my experience! Only annoying thing is that once my order got shipped out in separate chunks so I didn’t received everything at once x
Are you planning on taking a gap year before your masters?
No, unless I don’t get in 😬
@@SelinaOzay Hopefully you get in 🤞🏼
