I had a BuddyClub SS in my 8th Gen Si that sat an inch higher than stock, and while it took a minute to get used to, on the track it felt like a much more natural position. What a beautiful piece that assembly is, enjoy!

I use to get locked out of 3rd at high RPM too bud. When I sent the trans out for the "ultimate final drive" upgrade I think they did something different with the syncros and it was perfect after that

Wish a company made a full shifter Assembly for the Mazda speed 3 all the companies only sell short shifters that go into the OEM socket so no matter what there’s still so much play which sucks hopefully soon a company will actually make one
That lockout could be a clutch issue. I know it's a different car, but my mustang has the same issue and its the clutch. Shifting at 7600 is no issue, but the moment I try to shift at 7700+ it locks out. Not saying that's the case with your issue, but worth looking into.

I think you need to get an X MR with some paddle shifters. Look people dog the MR... but there is a reason Mitsubishi made it their "Mitsubishi Racing" model. There is a reason they put a fancy interior in it. My 4G63 is putting 600awhp on 93 pump, stage 4 shep with an evo 3 first gear and double syncros all the way... It is violent, but man I love climbing in my MR for daily driving. Especially through the city. And when you shift it revmatches keeping on the boost all the way. I have a feeling anyone talking shit never drove one. Try it.
John O’Conner I have this same shifter...you could literally cut the shaft down and get it welded shorter. Once you use this, you’ll realize it feels natural.

Mine just came in mail for my evo , I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger for IRP $799 or the CAE $999 shifter . This will def help me install it .

seems like a safety/race factor of having your second hand so close to the wheel after you complete your shift and need to grab the wheel again.
