Here is Kai with a mini-lesson from Flamenco Explained on the Soleá. In this video, Kai is playing a fantastic 1971 Manuel de la Chica with a Spruce top and Cypress back and sides.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

This lesson is worth it's weight in gold.
My understanding of the music I've been listening to for many years has reached a level where I can play a solea on guitar with confidence that I'm doing it correctly.
Man, I've recently been sitting here with a big smile on my face after donkey's years of trying to figure it out from listening to records and getting basically nowhere.
    Gracias mil Kai.

I second what Garcito says! This is a practical and fun lesson. Totally cool. Nice sounding guitar. Thank goodness for GSI. Should have sold my motocross bike and walked into The Blue Guitar way back in '71! Thanks Kai.

Great lesson mate. This is the type of flamenco that’s great. Variation of Compás. Better than just falsetas

I really like that dark E chord used in the latter third of this video. First time i have seen it. Also, i hear that little ghost note used on the high E after a bass note hear & there. Thanks!

In Spain, you don’t start playing an escobilla in “1” of the compás. Va a contratiempo.
