I cannot believe she thought for a second she'd get away with killing her husband. If I were the judge, I would've also given her a stern warning that writing another "book", this one allegedly involving the death of her husband (of whom she is currently on trial for the murder of), is a *very* poor choice, and that she cannot be surprised that if the jury were to hear that, even in trial, they would likely view it as damning evidence that she was at least attempting witness tampering. The jail personnel screen her mail, her phone calls, etc., and they're all recorded, and provided to the State prosecutors. Now, her defense has to do damage control, and that's what all this is about. They're trying to get that letter suppressed.
Defense team wants to argue the letter is both “fiction for a novel” but it is also “covered by attorney/client privilege” as a letter to her attorney. They can’t even decide what their story is. Laughable that defense argued that the DA should be sanctioned and the case dismissed for doing their job. I give them credit for trying.
