It was really cool to play with some silver armour for this model - this will be my last model for Sisters of Battle, apart from the Celestine Special 3 Parter! Hopefully you have enjoyed them all and I have covered all of the colours and techniques you need to paint any Sister of Battle Order!
Hello very nice color scheme. However, how can we improve the color transition on the miniature's cape? Can we use two layers of skeleton horde with medium?
Hi AnKy thanks for your positive feedback! I probably won't do any more sisters if battle videos anytime soon I've had a quick look at the orders colours, and I would say that the armour is based with Sotek Green and highlighted with Temple Guard Blue I hope that helps!
I don't know what it is about cloth but no matter which painter I've looked up...but the "white" part always looks so off at the end. Of course this is just personal preference but I wonder why all the mini dudes basically turn a white-ish cape into a yellow to brown hodge-podge by the end of it. They're the Argent Shroud so I figured people would want to work out the cape to kind of have a NMM silver-ish look. Still, I learned a lot from this and of course the level of execution is just amazing here.
I onyl wanna go sisters for the tanks and idk this and the order of the bloody rose u have done army my favorite and the martyr lady is alright but im not a big fan of tons of black especially highlighting
@@ThePaintingCoach same thats why i love deathwatch but too much black i kinda wanted to see if anyone would do a deathwatch army but with there actual colors i mean hell would look like a rainbod or could make squads of the chapters
Just the cape that let this down, and detracted from the awesome job you did! The biggest fold of the cape you did great on, it seemed like a smooth transition from shade to light. The other bits though were patchy. I find contrast to be hit or miss these days and use it for small bits now and less on flat areas such as cloaks or panels.

I love that you use different shades for different areas of the miniature. Instead of just dumping agrax all over it. Great work!👍🏽👌
Finally someone doing the argent shroud! Thank you! :)
Happy to help!
Thank goodness an alternative to black and red. I've noticed a lot of armies on the tabletop are just too dark. This looked really good.
God damn that looks good. I never know what to do with Metalics to make them look good so this was great. Another great model mate
Thank you Hamish!
Hello

Thanks for the comment! Yes of course you can - you could also glaze the ushabti bone highlights if you wish!
Supper helpful, thanks
Glad to help!
Really cool and informative, and a nice voice to hear. Can you please make order of the shattered glass!

I love her hair! What colours did you use? Great video - thanks!
Hi Cat thanks for the comment! It's a base of Rhinox Hide, with a highlight of doombull brown, and then a fine highlight of skrag brown

I think I went for cream as that is how the artwork looks
Check my Bloody Rose tutorial for some white cloth!

Thanks for leaving a comment - I'll be doing Bloody Rose - I don't mund black I just prefer brighter colours!

It would haha! I've thought about a deatheatch army - I figured that the different shoulder pads would keep the black bearable!

In hindsight it may have been better to use some medium with the contrast for the cape!
@@ThePaintingCoach do you feel it gave you more than using greyphone sepia using the technique mate?
@@johnmarshall4156 yes definitely - in my experience the sepia is a little too orange in tone, and any wash will tend to leave more marks on it
Great tutorial, actually it's 2 thin coats 😁 good luck Duncan in whatever venture you do.
I'm sure Duncan will be fine - if you aren't already, you can follow him on twitter and instagram - his handle is two_thin_coats i believe!
What can I use instead of the chrome if I can’t find it
Stormhost Silver 👍🏻
Damn fast reply also I went a little too heavy on the drakenhost shade and it’s pretty blue what should I do?
You can try and layer some silver over it
Would you recommend re painting it with the base and then just reshape lighter. I’m super new and following your tutorial helps my anxiety.
Cool - yeah you can always repaint it
Fabulous :)
Thanks!
Is it possible to paint their faces to make them look more feminine?
I have noticed their faces look a bit masculine...
You can - the best way is to use glazed highlights, which takes a bit more time. Check out a channel by Darren Latham - he shows you how to do this!
