Ace is short for asexual
It's funny, when I first came out as Ace I still had a lot of doubts, but then I asked some sexual friends about how it feels to be sexual. I asked them what it's like when you see someone and feel sexual attraction towards them and then I was immediately like "yep I'm definitely Ace." It can be hard at first to recognize the difference between aesthetic attraction and sexual attraction when your entire life you've thought aesthetic attraction was sexual attraction. But hearing people talk about what they actually feel when they experience sexual attraction really makes the distinction clear. I guess the confusion comes from all our media and most of society being allosexual. They all conflate their aesthetic attraction with sexual attraction, and since talking about sexual attraction is somewhat taboo, but aesthetic attraction is fine, it can be very easy for an asexual person to get the idea that their aesthetic feelings are sexual ones, which is probably why a lot of asexuals first identify as demi, even though they're just ace. (Not that demi isn't totally valid, just in my experience from talking to other aces a lot thought they were demi first, I certainly thought that.)

Okay I know a lot of the questions were kind of asked in a joking manner (since allosexuality is obvs really widely represented), but ALSO: as someone who has recently been struggling with my sexual and romantic orientations, this video was actually reallyyy helpful. I've heard these questions asked of ace/aro people before, but never the other way around, so I was never sure how allosexual people were "supposed" to feel, and thus I have never been confident in my sexuality, especially as someone who experiences multiple gender attraction....
so anyways, thanks Chandler and Alayna!!
tbh I'm always curious about the experiences of allosexuals/romantics. I, and perhaps other aces, have fallen victim to scrutinising every interaction I've had and wondering is THAT sexual attraction? Or THAT? or THAT?
Alayna is such a wonderful person and the collabs with her were some of the most fun collabs I've ever made! I don't really talk much about being asexual (or at least not nearly as much as I talk about being agender) so it was nice to mix it up and talk about my sexual orientation! I've been waiting for this!!! Alayna is such a sweetheart. it blows my mind how people can just look at others on the street and feel sexually attracted to them like whaaaat seems fake. This was so interesting. Like even though I'm ace, I spiritually relate to seeing Kristen Stewart and being like "well hey there😏😏" hahhaha.
for real though, I'm so glad there are awesome ace people online like you Chandler...I came out last summer as queer, but I've shied away from coming out as asexual or on the aromantic spectrum (and I hate that) because I had a weird experience trying to describe how I feel to my therapist over a year ago. She didn't understand what I was saying, so I just kinda gave up with the cause and assumed I would have the same experience explaining it to anyone. a huge part of me was like "oh, it will just be easier to say I'm gay because that's something everyone is familiar with" and now it just feels weird to come out again. so for that reason, I love how the internet allows for authenticity and makes you feel less alone in whatever you're going through.

Awesome video! Once I was in a dorm with some other people in army camp and 2 out of the 5 people were ace, and at one point everyone had left the room except me and the 2 ace people (I'm allosexual) so the majority of the people there were ace! Haha!

Going off how you worded being on both a spectrums "but with a pan overtone" I have a question. So I'm bisexual, heteroromantic, and demiromantic. How does one generally communicate that? Would it be hetero-demiromantic or demi-heteroromantic? Or neither? I was just wondering what you thought, Chandler. Or anyone else in the comments.
Why do you have to give it a label in the first place? Look, life is simple...........if you can hang with someone that just feels natural without drama or silly games, you have found your match. Everything else doesn't matter. Stop with the need for a label. If you tell people a label, you will just have to explain yourself anyway. Just be yourself dude.

Lando Callahan asexuality is definitely LGBT+ because they experience hate as well from people who say they'll grow out of it, or are just being special, or parents asking for grandkids etc
Me but that's different then systemic oppression that LGBT people face. I don't wanna start a fight, but rather a productive conversation.
Lando Callahan that's true but I think the LGBT+ community is for everyone who doesn't fit into the 'normal' view of gender, sexuality and romantic identity. Therefore, to me, anyone who's not cis, heterorantic/sexual and alloromantic/sexual is part of the LGBT+ community
I'm speaking from experience kinda since my girlfriend's asexual, but she's also gay so her place in the LGBT+ community was never questioned I guess haha
yeah I get that, but to me it seems like that could be used to include cis straight people who are like kinky or something into lgbt bc that also doesn't fit into the "normal" view of sexuality. to me, asexuality and demisexuality, etc are more descriptors of how much/how someone feels attraction rather than an orientation? bc sexuality is complicated and everyone experiences it differently

Russkiy Deutsch The term was created by asexuals to describe those who are not asexual. The term is mostly for asexuals to use, as it's easier and sounds better than saying "people who aren't asexual" all of the time. This is the similar to how the term cis came to be to describe people who aren't trans.

+Michael House transgender means not identifying with your birth gender. Chandler doesn't identify as their birth gender so is therefore on the trans spectrum
Why do people need all these stupid labels just live your life
I can totally see why these labels can seem pointless, and in a certain way they are, because it's just words. However, as someone who didn't have a word for what I was feeling, apart from words other people gave it, e.g. "frigid" "boring" "a tease" etc, when I found the word demi-sexual, I could finally fight back against those people who told me I wasn't normal - who labelled me with negative words. The word enabled me to describe to others who I was and how I felt more clearly. One day, I probably won't need the word, but it has really helped me. I hope you can see where I'm coming from :)
