"Where is the corruption?" - said while panning over just the core worlds. Ah yes, true imperial right there, ignoring every outlying planet and missing the two corrupted ones to the galactic north as a result
The Ideal Unit to kill the "trash compactors" for the empire are TX-130 Sabre Tanks. - Quick hover movement that has good reverse speed, to avoid melee - Good Shields, which are very effective against the composite beam of the droid - Dual AT rockets to kill the thing Ensure you keep the 2 tanks together, so they can cover each other against infantry as well.
On the imperial side: TIE Strikers are great at dealing with trash compactors. They have no defense against air, but they will try meaning a lot of spinning around trying to aim at a target too fast for their turn speed and not a lot of smoking everything you love and cherish like pulled pork.
Classic. The mission tells shack he needs to defend the maw and he ignored it after reading it out loud. With the predictable result. Some things never changes.
@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya I will never forget the time in Thrawn's Revenge where he jumped Admiral Ackbar into a system first with no intelligence whatsoever. The enemy has an SSD and a hyper velocity cannon, which promptly blasted Ackbars engines out killing him as Shack then retreated leaving him to die
"Late this afternoon, the remains of an imperial officer going by the name Shed were identified. He was found stuffed inside of a duffle bag with his hands and ankles bound, several blaster bolts to the back of the cranium, all reportedly before falling out of a coruscant high rise. Authorities have ruled his death as a suicide, and a search of his personal possessions yielded many journals, suggesting he was actually infamous rebel leader, Commander Shack, with a goatee..."
Shack you gotta pay attention to your notifications more. It said the fleet was coming for The Maw. And yes you could have put more forces at The Maw to reinforce your fleet. You have at least two worlds that are corrupted and one of them is in the core.
The idea behind the maw mission, is that the Hutts we’re trying to go around imperial space and miscalculated a jump. Neither knew the other party would be there…
@@loveroffunnyy yes, which Shack completely disregarded and probably forgot about considering he said in this one that he felt it would be meta to heed the warnings in last episodes comment section
@@loveroffunnyy In my personal canon, the Black Sun sold their stolen intel to the Hutts so they'd attack the Maw due to it encroaching on Hutt Space in the EaW galaxy. Which is why I had to retailiate by wiping out every Hutt stronghold 😂
In game, Blaster Cannons are semi-dual purpose, being effective at targeting infantry and also have a bit of teeth vs vehicles. Most ground based laser weaponry are very poor at targeting infantry, but great vs vehicles and buildings.
@@captainfierce8508 Depends if you play with Failonis lore, or the OG Tie Fighter lore. Ya know. The one where they were equal to the overrated X-Wing. Seriously though, if the Writers, Developers and Fans wouldn't keep nerfing them on purpose they would be really good.
Veers is very effective against the trash compacters. AT-ATs in general are good, but Veers' special abilities cut right through them. You've also got a reusable bounty hunter hero in Arliz Hadrassian to take care of the smugglers on Coruscant and Aargau.
That title makes me think he fumbled the Maw battle somehow... Edit: Shack, my guy... you got so many warnings in the comments last video about the Maw attack, and you STILL did nothing to prepare for it. You had a few ships nearby you could've bolstered the defenses with, and you had time to get a golan or shipyard upgrade finished which could've clutched the battle in your favor. It wouldn't be meta information since the game literally tells you that the Maw is going to be targeted with an attack due to an information leak ffs. Black sun corruption doesn't always give the yellow glow, its probably a bug, but there is still the little symbols in the bottom right of the worlds. You had one on Alderon in the core, and a couple up past Ord Mantel that you overlooked multiple times. I'm just glad you finally took Vulpter, it may seem like pennies but every ship you blow up from that point on is more money down the line.
@@elderliddle2733 I am pretty sure loosing the maw means he won't get Admiral daala.Bevel will have to be rescued and the mission chain will continue no?
Maw for future attempts: Have Tier 3 station, Golans are good but optional, build frigates or other light ships, build victories, build at least one ISD build the specific ship dockyards build 2 to increase build speed of those ships fall back most of the ships from surrounding planets to help out
Lieutenant's Log Abregado-Rae Week 53 The Maw, we were humiliated there. The Maw was the home of vital research facilities, home to scores of scientists and weapons specialists. And the Black Suns took it a short while ago. Our forces there were simply overrun. Every pirate vessel they destroyed, one was there to replace it. The ISD Gorgon, under Admiral Dalaa, was lost there, holding the line so Bevel could escape. In less tragic news, Vultper is now ours. The armor and army forces were given the opportunity to win the day. Our casualties were light, only a squadron of TIEs were lost. In return, the Scrapper's Guild has been given the go ahead to have free reign of battles the Empire fights against pirates and rebels. I also heard something from Releno and Vrankar about some "Shipbreaker" Guild coming from Tanarith to set up shop there. As for Abregado, the battle was a slaughter for what meager pirates were there. Many troops were deployed from the various units attached to the battle group. Eiolig and his men were beside themselves with rage with news of the Maw's fall. They took no prisoners, killing any pirates they could find anywhere they could. The only things left untouched were their ships and blasters. Lucius outright bought a sore of transports, on the grounds they were for his clan and bought with their funds, for their own use in the Mercantile Fleet. As for anything else, Lucius finally gave out a couple gifts he had brought from Tanarith. The Stormtroopers from the 501st that joined us each got a new right pauldron, marked with a blue Stellen Eagle as a commemoration for their service in the campaign. I was told by Lucius there was a new rifle on the way for me. Again, like I mentioned earlier, he is spoiling me. Then again, he made me commander of his battalion's marksmen for a reason, and why a few of the men call me "Eagle Eye" Chas.
Journal of Captain Cairo Karal Lord Vader has requested an officer for the regs in his forces. A request that has been sent my way by the ISB for some reason. I recommended Colonel Oleg Zarko, who is hard on those below him. He expects the best, and if not given it, he will force it out. Could be good for the front lines.
Voice of the Empire HoloBlog: "Terrorists seize *REDACTED* Research Facility". At the beginning of this Imperial Rotation, there were some rumors that terrorist and criminal forces occupied an imperial research facility in a classified location somewhere in the Outer Rim. This can explain why there was quite a hustle in the Imperial Security Bureau, especially since his Imperial Highness mandated a swift crack down on any criminal factions operating within Imperial Space, a few rotations ago following a previous ISB report. The ISB ushers the Imperial Citizens to "remain calm, loyal and united. This was an abandoned research facility; the Empire had zero losses, despite a sudden reduction in outdated equipment and control of a dangerous smuggler's route". They caution though that without Imperial Presence there, the location might become a hub of dangerous fringe elements. As an ISB official commented "The Empire will see to punish this hostile takeover but this job falls to the Imperial Navy's jurisdiction. A few Star Destroyers might teach these parasites that the Empire protects its territory, no matter how populated or far away. ". Long live the Empire!
Lieutenant log: Week 50 Finally got to talk sam, he was a different person all together since what happen to the 501st. He was more driven and more different in my opinion. I guess war and ground engagements can change the personality of a person. "Hay look what I found her on vulpter, a old B1 battle droid". I haven't seen one since I was a child. Surprise it's cpu commands still work. "Ghost, what's been troubling u". Ohh it's Jessica, she keeps avoiding me and she's my sister after all, u don't avoid ur brother if ur going through it at a rough time like this. "Hay, we both know she gets these mood swings every time before a battle test or a written essay". I just hope she would talk to me. "Don't worry, shore leave is coming up soon for us and I'll drop by on the ship and we both can go talk to her together agree". Atleast you get shore leave. "What's that suppose to mean". Oh my commanding officer been pushing me to my limits on accuracy. I feel like I can hit a moving target from over 300km away with both eyes close but he thinks I won't take his spot any time soon." Don't worry, I'm sure command will see your effort and consider a promotion for you soon than you think. I know you want to command your own star destroyer eventually so just let the Force decide". The force, I don't believe in that and you know this. Although the sith and lord vader use it, I just consider my own force as luck and any thing that can help me. " suit yourself, I'll see you soon Ghost and make sure Jessica doesn't kill herself before I get there ok". Well do Broo, see you soon," you too". Hopefully Jessica ain't stuck in that cockpit of hers. Hopefully both me and Sam can convince her to open up with us and tell us what's bothering her. I try to recall all the moments that cause her to be so self conscious about herself but only a few cross my mind. Hopefully Sam and me can convince her that she doesn't have to be a shell to hide her thoughts from us. Sam will be her soon so I'll rap this log up. Vulpter was key to making the core more safer. Vulpter a key scrapyard world where most ships come to rest and end service. It's a junk yard to most but to me, it's a resting spot or a grave to end your service as a ship. Command order to reawaken those yards and hope the economy from it will build more ISDs and other ships from it. As for me, I've been working my tail off and is suspected to get promoted to lieutenant commander and control of my own gun and crew on isd instead of listening to commander gravick ripping my ears off. (😮💨) I guess I'll see you soon Sam. Computer end log (Log ended)
Yeah, with the maw I’d deffo say make sure to have at least an ISD bought for and stationed at the maw along with at least a few support ships in order to be essentially sacrificial lambs, and that trade of any losses for the admiral you get there I’d deffo say is worth the sacrifice
"Admiral Shed, sir." an young lieutenant transmission operator walks and stands at attention after being able to schedule a meet earlier that day. After receiving an okay to proceed he speaks again "Sir since I respect you greatly, I feel it is must inform you of news that I received from the Core. Full discloser, I am currently engaged to an MI officer and yesterday she told me that field agents on Naboo discovered that one of the commanders in the rebel navy ordered the seizure and settlement of a nice property on the lake. They then proceed to turn this small mansion into a squadron bar and a small airfield. While that maybe insignificant by itself the property was under your name sir. Even more concerning is the fact the spy network believes the order was given from a Republic Era Venator. The same one that you quietly asked to be analyzed, sir. I have already scrubbed the recordings of the transmissions regarding this. However it is possible that these coincidence will be flagged the ISB. I just wanted to inform you before the ISB dogs catch wind of this sir. What do you wish to do?"
Love the series shack just make sure that you notice the little pop up when they say “enemy fleet approaching” it said that an enemy fleet approaching the Maw other than that have a wonderful day. FOR THE EMPIRE
501st Journal Week 53 - Abregado-Rae TK-2401 - Pvt. Kale - Triton Squad "Fading Legacy" Word has reached us on the holonet that the Empire has suffered another serious setback. Admiral Dala, the Empire's first female to reach the rank of admiral, has died in battle onboard her Star Destroyer, the ISD Gorgon. The accomplished admiral was valiantly defending civilian research stations in the Outer-Rim when the detestable Black Sun arrived in force. Outgunned and outnumbered two to one, she fought with all the fire of the Empire in her to protect the civilians but sadly she and her fleet were overwhelmed and destroyed. The civilians escaping on a single cruiser. The Emperor has commissioned a two day mourning period in her honor so that she may be remembered as a hero of the Empire. Dala was a well known associate of former Grand Moff Tarkin. The two were rumored to be very close. It seems now that everyday since the Death Star's destruction the Moff's legacy fades. The order he fought to hold has shattered, the vast imperial fleet he built loses more ships every day, and now his best Admiral has been lost. To pirate scum of all people! While we troopers claw back control system by system, our enemies make grand defeats that mock the Empire itself. The legacy of the Empire fading with every substantial loss. We must be stronger if we are to stop this. This is why Lord Vader demands success. Let the scum have their moment. It will only last so long. The 501st built an Empire from the ashes of the Republic. We can rebuild it from the scars of this war. Alongside our clone brothers in arms, together we will save this Empire and chart a new course in galactic history. Long live the Empire!
Death squadron log: Praised be the dark side, for it has once again blessed me, my lord and my brethren with an incredible fight, a glorious fight, a bloody fight. Abregado-Rae was the sight of that glorious massacre. So many many enemies, so many types of targets, so many ways to end them all. It wasn't easy, I almost died several times, but it was worth it. Twenty-five kills was the reward of my survival, twenty-five targets turned dust clouds and debris. My ecstasy was through the roof, until we received news about an altercation in the Maw. Once again, the higher ups have shown their incompetence by sending such a small force in such an important system. My lord almost choked the entire bridge in his anger, they were lucky he had to return to his chamber. No matter, more prey for us in the future. The bad news don't end there sadly. I keep returning to those damn game sessions, I think I start to understand why my father loved to drink so much, I hate it. Worse, one of my brethren, the one that dragged me into the that hell, was talking with a group of storm troopers, one of them, a female, glared at me suspiciously. I will make sure to keep my distance, I have killed too many to be ambushed now.
-continuing to RP as the starting ground officer while i live... *overheard in the officers mess: Old voice - So Williams, Time for performance reviews again - pull up a barstool, Our CO has put in an unofficial complaint that your repair speed is not up to par with an automated repair station, I did mention that your just a field mechanic, just one man and that all you were issued with was a hammer, a can of WD40 and a roll of duct tape. CO Shed seemed to understand. On the upside he did refer to us as better than squad of tie fighters... its a low bar but I'll take it! Younger voice - If I can get a second roll of Duct tape sir I'm sure i can improve! Old voice - sure Williams, sure.
I love how it's an abandoned heavy vehicle facility, and then the tiniest walkers come out. I can only assume it's because they may be small, but they've got big hearts. :3
Personal Log: Corporal Docsun, transferred from 44th infantry division to the 44th infantry support division. It sounds the same but it just means I'm back to doing what I used to do before I got demoted and transferred to the medbay aboard the 'Spear. The Captain of the Spear was contacted by the Brigadier General regarding a medic shortage and most of the staff got volunteered for a combat deployment, and I got a promotion. I got deployed to Vulpter and Abregado-Rae, a shitty junkyard and a cozy beach, respectively. Okay, that's all the important stuff. Now onto what I really wanted to talk about. I got to shoot at pirates and Jawas, and watch the combat engineer in the squad put out a fire on an AT-ST. The crew was still inside and perfectly okay, it was just on fire. I'd say it's a little weird but I went to Medical School not the emergency fire brigade, so I don't exactly know enough about fires to really dispute anything. About fires... one of the walkers got nailed by some big walking flamethrower thing with lasers. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Horrible thing about the guys inside but man, that was cool. I also got to see an orbital bombardment up close, and walk directly over the target area after it was over. They don't mention this anywhere in the Imperial Field Manual but it really makes the ground warm, kinda like freshly baked bread if you don't let it cool, and also step on it for some reason (I had a strange childhood, don't start judging me now, datapad). Abregado-Rae was interesting. We got deployed to what was basically a beach resort, but with more pirates. I also got to ride in an A5 Juggernaut. Unfortunately, it didn't smell like the beach in there. It smelled like exhaust, and durasteel. I spent the rest of the combat deployment in there. The seats suck, but it beats marching. The Captain of the Spear put out an announcement that the first Female Admiral was listed as KIA. I didn't hear about the specifics, but I heard from my best friend Frank again. He's still out doing anti-piracy operations in Hutt space, so he knows about their opportunistic attitude regarding territory. He told me they were behind her death, and a decent amount of the battlegroup assigned to her. I can't honestly say I'm surprised. I've never met a Hutt, but I can't say I've ever heard anything good about them. End of Log, I've got an unfortunate amount of burns to treat.
Shack, great vid, if you want the Tector and other capital ships build a "Imperial Advanced Warship Shipyard" over a plant (Fondor, Kuat, Byss, Corellia...) The same goes for cruisers, just with the cruiser variant shipyard and also with the fighter variant :)
I've been an AT-TE fan since I first saw it. The Clone Wars only made me love it all the more. The only direct contact land vehicle (that I know of) that can out climb a Mako and a cannon that can punch holes in starship hulls (along with all it's other cool features and ammo types).
Shack because you lost the maw the scientist is going to be captured and you will have to rescue him if you want to continue building the second Death Star. After rescuing him you will need to build a very costly research facility which will cost you 65,000 credits. When complete the misson stroy chain will continue and the scientist will create the second Death Star.
Journal of Gunnery Captain Tobias, entry 9. It's never a good sign when the ISB shuts down the Holonet completely for a few days, it's an even worse sign when a new proviso comes in requiring you don't ever speak of 'Black Holes' again on the Holonet. From the limited information I was able to gather the Black Sun attacked the Maw Installation, a formerly top-secret research center, and after they killed the admiral in change of the defense fleet the remaining imperial forces retreated to kessel, and to make things even worse countless imperial secrets were leaked and now everyone from my father to the leadership of the Rebel Alliance know all about projects the emperor tried to keep very, very, VERY secret. Before all that happened, the battle of Abregado-Rae was a complete victory and a slaughter of criminal elements, the Black Sun fleet was destroyed within minutes of after contract. The Pattern of course gripped me but thankfully not for long as the battle was soon over AND I learned that the ground battle was also a complete victory for the Galactic Empire, unfortunately the leak has dampened the celebrations on the Devastator.
there is one single instance in which I would recommend using autoresolve, and that is when you catch ground forces in space by themselves. From my experience, as long as I have at least a few ships or just a basic space station, I always end up taking out a few ground units without any losses. This is from my experience though, so your mileage may vary.
Captain sir may I suggest the beginning the construction of the Arc hammer and the Dark Trooper program a general who served in the Clone Wars General Rom Mach could use the support for such a project

Log #9: ISD: Devastator 501st Stormtrooper legion. Gamma squad. TK- 534 (pvt. Darro Keppen) Begin recording. "This is it. This is the 501st. I'm here Jell, I made it. Wherever you are I hope you are proud of me. The Devastator was completely different to what I imagined it to be. Certainly it's different than Anaxes. The inside of a star destroyer is one big labyrinthian machine. It's efficient but it's also cold. Not temperature cold but... apathetic. It's like Corescant's under city. Such a place being so full of people but so unfeeling sometimes is different from other planets that have more life. But I grew up in the undercity. Cold is what I was born in. We stepped off the shuttle gangplank and were immediately set to work. Myself, Det and Ava were folded into Gamma Squad under Sgt. Hoytt. Hoytt and his second, Jaeger, are both clones. Clean cut but you can tell they are old. Who knows how many battles they've fought in. Hoytt gave us a warm welcome but I'm not sure Jaeger likes us all that much. The word "shiney" was used a lot. I heard from a lieutenant that shiney refers to the armor. It's shiney and new, just like us. Gamma is Second Line and Recon. Very quickly we got stuck in the action. That is to say, the continued efforts to reunify the core. Vulpter was first on the list. A police action on the scrap world and we did not touch down until after the regular army had cleared the way. Abegado Rae was where we got some real action. We got sent to secure a factory in the AO. We cracked the doors and what do we find but a set of AT-RT walkers. Now...I must confess armored training was lacking in basic. We'd trained in the old AT-PT's and that was nerve wracking enough. Now take an AT-PT and remove all the armor and that's basically an AT-RT. But Hoytt saw the walkers and got a look in his eyes. He ordered us to mount us and after a crash course in clone wars armored warfare, off we went into the jungle. Ava wiped out pretty quickly and had to be picked up by medical, but Det and I kept up with Hoytt and Jaeger as we scouted the line and coordinated artillery and orbital from our forward position. I can tell it is going to be a learning curve, but I think I'm going to be here in the 501st for a long time, and I hope I can earn the respect of the other soldiers here. It's lights out here in the barracks soon. The clones are very strict on holding to regulation and I know I will lose my holo-journal if I'm not careful. I'll update when I can. Signing out."
(As the three new members of Gamma squad are eating their nutrition paste in the cafeteria, Triton Squad enters and lines up for the serving droid.) Kale: "Ugh, back to the paste. I don't care what the crew thinks. Eating only this doesn't prove you're tough. Only stupid." Ace: "I miss the surface already..." Oz: "We should be thankful we got that extra day off at all. Misty could've just neglected to bring us." Misty: "You boys are welcome by the way." (While getting his drink, Ace notices the newcomers.) Ace: "Hey, aren't those the new Gamma squad replacements? The one's who supposedly held off four elite companies by themselves during training?" (Kale finishes getting his food and drink and looks over.) Kale: "Yeah, that's them. Don't know what's harder to believe. That they won, or that their opponents were that bad." Oz: "We could always just go ask." (Kale shrugs.) Kale: "Why not. That table is as good as the next." (Triton walks over and sits down next to gamma.) Kale: "You're the new replacements for Gamma squad, the ones from Anaxes right?" Ace: "The ones going around with the story of holding off 200 hundred elite troopers in training. That's a big claim to make." Misty: "So what's the real story?"
"So, some outpost in The Maw was attacked by pirates? Not sure what they could be after out there but they must have been desperate if they were willing to risk such a dangerous place. There was a moment of silence held amongst the crew for admiral Daala, who was amongst the casualties. Personally I don't see why she gets so much special treatment and praise when she was hidden off in the middle of nowhere whilst we've been on the front lines for a whole year by this point risking our lives on a daily basis. "Who to blame for the attack is the topic of choice for basically any and all discussion this week, ranging from the Hutts, Mandos, remnant CIS holdouts, hell someone in communications claimed they overheard a secret transmission indicating it was a group of deserters sabotaging and firing upon their own fleet! Absolute madness! I personally agree it was the Hutts, they have territory very close by and aren't exactly known for their manners. "The core worlds are largely safe now, and we've begun expanding our operations further afield. Once again we're getting further and further away from home... I hope to hear from you again soon!" For once, Beady felt good about his situation, the fleet had reached a point where most of the time it didn't need to fully deploy all hands during attacks and it had been a long time since he needed to worry about severe damage to his tie.
Intelligence Report: Operative Klink Location: Corulag No word on my requested transfer. Important news has popped up however. The research station in The Maw was attacked. Apparently some Hutts didn't know where they were going and the Empire wanted to keep DS2 a secret. Sometimes I forget the common citizen of Heimat is better informed on galactic events and locations than some high ranking officers in any organization. One important item to note is that while going through the after action reports I saw that several Heimatese were at The Maw - on both side most likely. Two that stuck out were the captain of one of the dreadnaughts - who is an official operative - and the helmsman of the other dreadnaught - who appears to be a freelance adventurer deep undercover. These two sent valuable data on both Imperial and Hutt capabilities when I made contact. This along with their brave actions in battle make them quality candidates for recognition back home. The freelancer should be easy to publicly recognized as his story is completely true. The operative will have to be honored in the usual covert ways. Hail Heimat!
Report from Captain Montier Grendell. Several days ago, with a lot of effort, I got help from Stormcomandos to locate one of my missing agents. Everything seemed fine until... they arrived. ISD Visiante stopped right in my sector and, against all my expectations, informed me that my activities in the sector were being interrupted. Permanently. Without any signal or warning, they began firing at my fleet. We didn't even have a chance. Some Republic Arquitens against Imperial Star Destroyer with the newest 6-barreled Turrets? Impossible. We were practically decimated. Only I escaped. Now, against all my other expectations, I will be facing the person who overcame the ISS persecution and still became an admiral. I discovered that Ex-Captain Shaq, who was sentenced to a little Arquitens like me, hunted down and destroyed an entire illegal droid manufacturing scheme deep in the core. I don't know what awaits me. And I have no hope of running away from him, or his ISD, The Overlord. End of report.
Shack you have a neutral faction on the border of Ord Ibanna. Build good space defenses on Sullust and Eriadu and they can take care of themselves for a good long while. Then take your fleet and set it on Ord Ibanna until you can connect with the remaining forces in the core. Side note- (don't forget that you have to build corresponding dockyard extensions in order to build the more advanced versions of ships. ex.-Imperial Warship Dockyard unlocks Tectors and ISDIIs)
Shack I Do recommend you go and Take Tepasi cause you can get the Tagge Battlecruisers there, also I believe if you get your Infantry tech to the final level you can get a 501ST Storm trooper hero
@@MrTreefoz it’s Vader and Commander Fulik, and we know he has Vader but I didn’t see if he had Commander Fulik, and if he deploys both in the same battle that’s 5 squads of Very good infantry
Hey Shack, the governors palace chain gets you a % income boost planetwide. Garrison, Palace, Mines (until you run out of slots or max out) is the best st-up for income and raid resistance (imho at least)
Great video, I think the empire would double down on the fortifications on the black sun front. I would continue building turbo income planets like abregado. Having 5 army troops holding the ground is cheaper than a garrison in the long run.
A long time ago, before the big patches, I did a black sun run where the only ground forces I made were B1s, and it was a beautiful thing. The fights against armor took a thousand years, but running a hundred B1s under the legs of an AT-AT feels so powerful 😂
22:25 Close. The Clone Wars MOVIE itself! We first see them in that and then the final time was in the episode 'The Zillo Beast' and that was pretty much it. Never saw them ever again for the remaining 5-6 seasons, weirdly enough, but I'm sure they were used all throughout the war, like many other things during it, but we just happened to not get to see them any more from TCW show's POV, is all.
Shack! Create passive income while you have smaller territory! The passive income will save you in ways you didn’t think it could. The extra cash is well worth it. They will complete orders with minimal risk of being cut off. A balanced freighter fleet is at times even more worth then tibana gas’s refineries.
For the toasters with flamethrowers you need units with reasonably good kiting power, no walkers or slow crawlers. For the Imps a TX-130, 2M tank, or a swarm of ties should be good against those. As the rebels, ion options always help too
I'm not sure if its the same across all difficulty levels, but the AI will move its fleets in response to where your ships are. If you end up closer to the casino, they will rally around the casino. Its a little weird sometimes, but it can be exploited to get a small flanking group into position--especially useful if you get a "Hunt Shipyard" mission and dont want to commit to taking the entire system.
shack would say huts because of the massive Hutt capital ship right at the end because at first it looked like it could be any random pirate fleet but by the end there were half a dozen Hutt ships
I love the dynamic between Shack and Shed. They're firmly and steadfastly on opposite sides of the war, and even when aligned they have different ways of doing things. Yet they always seem to remember their brother's words in times of struggle. Even when separated by ideology, they still love each other, deep down.
Imp Rep 9 - Lord Vader's victories continue to be overshadowed by defeats elsewhere. Lord Vader has successfully taken Vulpter and Abregado Rae from the Black Sun, and despite those criminals having a decent sized fleet there at the latter world, the Empire's forces not only fought well but suffered no losses. This, to a great degree shows the benefit of strong leadership at the front, which I must give to Lord Vader's credit. For despite the rage directed at Lord Vader, his iron will has not been deterred from taking the war to the Empire's enemies. All of this is serving to strengthen the hold in the core, and now with a line to Fondor made, it may be possible to begin enlarging the size of the fleet or sending agents to try and drive the Black Sun and the Rebels to engage each other... showing on how these different groups cannot get along and showing the Empire's true unity through strength. The only major losses sustained were some ground TIE pilots who were lost on Vulpter, though records indicate that most of them were also just out of flight school and sent to fly over a series of major FLAK cannons. We cannot blame the pilots for that, and without full sensor scans, we couldn't have known the FLAK cannons were there. Thus, with that being the only thing that was lost in Lord Vader's area of operation in the core, his area of operation has remained successful and can set up for possible future moves... But events from outside the area of operation have not been so fortunate. We've received word that the Hutts, or some criminal faction aligned with them have invaded and taken the Maw Instillation, killing or capturing our scientist and killing Admiral Daala. There is some mourning for the loss of a female admiral, though there are also those who've made the point that Ms. Daala only won her position by sleeping with Grand Moff Tarkin. And given his age and decrepit build, we can only assume that Daala was blind and had no cybernetics to repair her lost vision. That could then explain the situation that befell her and her ship. Lord Vader seemed unconcerned with this and cited that much of the research in the Maw was intended to replace the Death Star lost over Yavin. He was of the opinion that the Force would serve the Empire and its forces stronger than such technological weapons... I cannot say I agree, but then I was born two years after the Empire was proclaimed and the Jedi Order destroyed by Lord Vader at the Emperor's command. One may hope that Lord Vader is right. - Ensign Iam Minion.
If you want to treat the maw as a secret facility, then in the next ep you should open with orders from high command to redirect resources to the Kessal system. They won't explain why but it's highest priority.
I personally used the heroes + garrison technique for front line worlds and it was pretty effective. Just need to make sure your other worlds have decent enough garrisons to prevent raids
Anyone else notice at ~31:30 when the Victory I's opened their missile panels as soon as enemy contact was on scope? I'm also surprised, given his proclivity towards grinning madly whenever he's watching outbound missile salvos, that Shed hasn't taken a greater interest in nationalizing Rendili Stardrive. I'm sure certain corporate interests would be...amenable to renegotiating contracts for the production of additional Victory Star Destroyers.
The real tragedy about that loss at the Maw is that the Imperial Command (aka Cap Shack) was warned about the impending attack by the intelligence agencies (aka The Comments Section), but in their arrogance and short-sightedness decided to still send Bevel there and neither wait on that mission nor reinforce the science installation. This is how the Empire will fall.
They're not protected within his core worlds so he views them as high risk. He could've long since made a profit from Ord Ibana but he assumes it'll be attacked the moment he spends the cash. I can confidently say that won't happen.
39:43 So, yeah, when you’re warned an enemy fleet is approaching, the R2 droid will tell you where the enemy is about to attack. In this case it said “Enemy Fleet incoming at: The Maw”. You didn’t notice because you were moving the cursor onto planets while deciding to either build a ship or do something to make more credits and the R2 droid was giving you the planet information instead. That’s why you were taken by surprise at The Maw.
The next intro….. “someone talked…. That’s the only reason that makes sense… the Maw, the secret research base of the empire has been taken and along with it, the life of the first female admiral of the imperial navy… I met her once, briefly, but that singular interaction left its mark on me. She will be sorely missed… ISB headquarters has been a flurry of activity since the incident with everyone who is still alive there is looking under every rock in the galaxy for the traitor. Rumor has it, that the emperor himself called the previous head of the the ISB along with ALL of the ISB sector commanders to explain themselves to him personally… none have been seen since… Well, you know what they say: “with crisis comes opportunity”, and I can’t think of a better opportunity than the entirety of the ISB leadership being taken out of the game…. If I were able to find some information about the assault… maybe even the culprit….. No, I can’t get distracted with delusions of grandeur, I need to stay on task…. but what’s the harm in keeping my eyes and ears open. I’ve already been graced the freedom to look into these reports of a familiar Venator cruiser now that I don’t need to worry about looking over my shoulder…
Stuff in orbit becomes unscouted much quicker than the ground when you sent a scout that's why it seemed like they sent a fleet to defend Abregado-Rae.
Nice to know what happens if you loose that battle. Shame about Dala though, her ISD and fleet bonus are really good. Also we know you don't like spoilers, and were just trying to remind you about quest messages you had recieved, saying that the location had been leaked and an attack was coming. Be interesting to see how this effects the main quest now, though to be fair I doubt it will slow you down too much, as trying to get those units out of the MAW takes a long time
@@davidlivingston9169 It's pretty tough to lose. You'd have to send Bevel there with no support fleet, not build any dockyards, golans, or ships, ignore all in game warnings that it will be attacked, or fleets are on their way, and not pull in your small support ships nearby. Or as we know it, the Shed walkthrough.
I didn’t know about the scripted mission for the maw but I knew it was important so I put as many Gollum platforms as I could on it and built a couple of extra victories it smashed the mission Love the videos btw shack
I just bought Empire at War and the first tryout im doing is with this mod on this map as the empire. Lets just say that how i have been doing battles is more imperial than planned.
The USMC-Coin is kind of a Empire at War mistery. It is for whatever reason an unused asset in the vanilla game files, so it´s somewhat of an easter egg that the mod devs use it as well without explaining why.
The Empire shall research the Tie Defender Program on a secret base on Lothal ran by Grand Adrimal Thrawn, right under the Alliances nose after a gruesome loss to the Black Sun. You can build it wherever, but you should buy the Fight tech level. You really do struggle in fighter combat atm.
29:26 Gosh, the timing of the arrival of that Black Sun fleet is so unlucky! A bit too coincidental if you ask me... almost as though there are influential people who want your taskforce to fail and informed Black Sun of your attack plan. Combined with the shocking presence of Separatist battle droids and other rabble on Vulpter, a planet which is known to construct KX-series droids (like K2SO) and large numbers of Viper probe droids (which you have been using extensively for scouting) for the Empire, both of which are products of Arakyd Industries, it does seem like these are corporate leaders who have strong ties to the Imperial military industrial complex, and not members of the Rebellion with some supposedly 'moral' cause.
I didn't know that about Victory Star Destroyers. Because I do really like them in the game. Solid ship, can do a very good job. Great addition to any fleet. As for the USMC coin. "US MARINES! US MARINES!" Go go Hullbuster.
I really really want a Commander Shed playable unit for the Empire. Maybe an Arquintas upgradable to a Victory, or better yet: an Imperial Venator like Shack’s but with upgradable TIEs. The icon would be Shack with but with an evil twin Gotee.
- Quick hover movement that has good reverse speed, to avoid melee
- Good Shields, which are very effective against the composite beam of the droid
- Dual AT rockets to kill the thing
Ensure you keep the 2 tanks together, so they can cover each other against infantry as well.
2-m repulsor tank is better but best would be an idt or scimitar strike fighter since the compactors can’t hit air targets at all
The sabre is the only ground vehicle that they really kept from the republic
On the imperial side: TIE Strikers are great at dealing with trash compactors. They have no defense against air, but they will try meaning a lot of spinning around trying to aim at a target too fast for their turn speed and not a lot of smoking everything you love and cherish like pulled pork.

BC stands for Blaster Cannon, basically the lower powered blaster weapon for ground vehicles before you go into laser cannons
In game, Blaster Cannons are semi-dual purpose, being effective at targeting infantry and also have a bit of teeth vs vehicles. Most ground based laser weaponry are very poor at targeting infantry, but great vs vehicles and buildings.

Week 53
The Maw, we were humiliated there.
These logs just get longer and longer makes me glad all I have to report is that nobody's approached my venator.

Lord Vader has requested an officer for the regs in his forces.

Finally got to talk sam, he was a different person all together since what happen to the 501st.
I guess I'll see you soon Sam.

"Fading Legacy"
Word has reached us on the holonet that the Empire has suffered another serious setback.
Death squadron log:
Praised be the dark side, for it has once again blessed me, my lord and my brethren with an incredible fight, a glorious fight, a bloody fight.
When you said earlier you were moving units from the maw I was screaming no send more units to it but didn't want to spoil the fight for you

CO Shed seemed to understand. On the upside he did refer to us as better than squad of tie fighters... its a low bar but I'll take it!
Younger voice - If I can get a second roll of Duct tape sir I'm sure i can improve!
Old voice - sure Williams, sure.
Can't wait to watch, I'm sure it'll be good as always Captain!
Shack, great vid, if you want the Tector and other capital ships build a "Imperial Advanced Warship Shipyard" over a plant (Fondor, Kuat, Byss, Corellia...)
The same goes for cruisers, just with the cruiser variant shipyard and also with the fighter variant :)
I think we all know that price tag means the station won't get built

(As the three new members of Gamma squad are eating their nutrition paste in the cafeteria, Triton Squad enters and lines up for the serving droid.)
Kale: "Ugh, back to the paste. I don't care what the crew thinks. Eating only this doesn't prove you're tough. Only stupid."
Ace: "I miss the surface already..."
Oz: "We should be thankful we got that extra day off at all. Misty could've just neglected to bring us."
Misty: "You boys are welcome by the way."
(While getting his drink, Ace notices the newcomers.)
Ace: "Hey, aren't those the new Gamma squad replacements? The one's who supposedly held off four elite companies by themselves during training?"
(Kale finishes getting his food and drink and looks over.)
Kale: "Yeah, that's them. Don't know what's harder to believe. That they won, or that their opponents were that bad."
Oz: "We could always just go ask."
(Kale shrugs.)
Kale: "Why not. That table is as good as the next."
(Triton walks over and sits down next to gamma.)
Kale: "You're the new replacements for Gamma squad, the ones from Anaxes right?"
Ace: "The ones going around with the story of holding off 200 hundred elite troopers in training. That's a big claim to make."
Misty: "So what's the real story?"
Intelligence Report: Operative Klink
Location: Corulag
No word on my requested transfer.
Shack when you were going to "retire" to Naboo the Imperial spy police thought you were just trying to reach your brother in the rebellion haha
He already had a 501st stormtrooper hero. Is there another one?
@@MrTreefoz it’s Vader and Commander Fulik, and we know he has Vader but I didn’t see if he had Commander Fulik, and if he deploys both in the same battle that’s 5 squads of Very good infantry
@@sovereign7499 He had him earlier in the series and lost him in battle.
@@MrTreefoz ah, well I think Fulik is Rescueable
@@sovereign7499 No, buildable heroes cannot be rescued.
Hey Shack, the governors palace chain gets you a % income boost planetwide. Garrison, Palace, Mines (until you run out of slots or max out) is the best st-up for income and raid resistance (imho at least)
Literally let’s the rebels run rampant in the outer rim
“How’d the rebels get so strong?!?!?”
Loving these intros, just adds so much depth to the playthrough, absolutely loving it
For the toasters with flamethrowers you need units with reasonably good kiting power, no walkers or slow crawlers. For the Imps a TX-130, 2M tank, or a swarm of ties should be good against those. As the rebels, ion options always help too
When it says the enemy fleet is approaching, it lets you know where they are heading to if you look over R2-D2 head when it's said
I'm not sure if its the same across all difficulty levels, but the AI will move its fleets in response to where your ships are.
I hear R2 units are good at dealing with trash compactors. ;)
lol I see what you did there.
I personally used the heroes + garrison technique for front line worlds and it was pretty effective. Just need to make sure your other worlds have decent enough garrisons to prevent raids
i find it funny how you made inquisitors, added them to the ground force under vader and never used them.
I’m surprised you haven’t put any research on the maw, Byss, and Scariff since they give bonuses to cost/research speed
They're not protected within his core worlds so he views them as high risk. He could've long since made a profit from Ord Ibana but he assumes it'll be attacked the moment he spends the cash. I can confidently say that won't happen.

So, yeah, when you’re warned an enemy fleet is approaching, the R2 droid will tell you where the enemy is about to attack.
My dog finds your voice calming, it's been thundering out recently so I have been able to turn on your videos to keep her calm
*T Poses over the Liberation while being electrocuted in my Victory I* You may not like it but this is what peak ship combat looks like.
Be interesting to see how this effects the main quest now, though to be fair I doubt it will slow you down too much, as trying to get those units out of the MAW takes a long time
There was a small message in the holo projector, indicating that the enemy fleet was approaching THE MAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the famous Lord Vader once said, "He is as clumsy as he is stupid"
Is the campaign set up so that you are guaranteed to lose the Maw battle, or is it possible to win it?
@@davidlivingston9169 It's pretty tough to lose. You'd have to send Bevel there with no support fleet, not build any dockyards, golans, or ships, ignore all in game warnings that it will be attacked, or fleets are on their way, and not pull in your small support ships nearby. Or as we know it, the Shed walkthrough.
I didn’t know about the scripted mission for the maw but I knew it was important so I put as many Gollum platforms as I could on it and built a couple of extra victories it smashed the mission
Love the videos btw shack
I think the pod mining droid things were actually in the clone wars movie I wanna say. If not, it was just very early Season 1.
17:45 Having one of the UCS Venators, this is a good question... and one I've yet to adequately answer.
A way to find corruption is to use ISB agents to have it highlight. I think you can do it while paused
The last ground invasion was so overkill and so imperial. I love it!
@29:10 I'm pretty sure the world is Felucia and the Jedi was Aayla Secura, not Shaak Ti (unless you meant in The Force Unleashed)
I just foundout that lonestar and barf from spaceballs are in the game, check around your space maps!! You may catch em smuggling!!
A new episode is always a treat
Thanks Shack for the content. Always excited for new videos.
Come on @Shak please take Tepasi and give the those star destroyers a try. I will keep saying it cross between Venator for carrier and ISD2
Poor Shed, should have upgraded the maw station
If you're looking to hold sullust it has some top tier turbo laser battery positions for land defense
Those level 1 stations can be moved around during battle adding a little more survivability to it.
shack you've had so many warning about the maw
I didn't know that about Victory Star Destroyers. Because I do really like them in the game. Solid ship, can do a very good job. Great addition to any fleet.
As for the USMC coin. "US MARINES! US MARINES!" Go go Hullbuster.
I really really want a Commander Shed playable unit for the Empire. Maybe an Arquintas upgradable to a Victory, or better yet: an Imperial Venator like Shack’s but with upgradable TIEs. The icon would be Shack with but with an evil twin Gotee.
