yess!!! I thought it was so genius of the director to take us on that 'boring' journey so we could really immerse ourselves in the story. I was so angry at all the reviews that said Vivarium was boring and could have been shorter. It wouldn't have been the same. I do wish though they went a bit deeper into the mutant child(?) Anyway it was such a great film.
Thank you for watching, and for commenting. Yes! The fact that it was monotonous and "boring" was all part of the genius plot. It's just like in real life. You don't realise you are in hell because you are lulled into a perpetual state of zombie like boredom. In a way it almost feel like it was designed for exactly this reason, in real life that is. Peopme in the suburbs never take part in demonstrations or any significant social movements. They are too busy watering their garden and barbecuing. Vivarium is definitely one of the best movies of the year.
Yeah. I know it was talked about a lot on the festival circuit (that's where I heard about it. I missed it at the Stockholm film festival) but it never reached the mainstream audience. That's why I made my video, to make more people aware of this awesome piece of art!
The irony is for many people where I live, this movie is, in my mind, a kind of a middle finger. Many are unemployed. with no hope of ever getting a job and just about surviving ,and knowing that situation, going on to the next generation and the next and so on. So, being able to provide for their kids while living in a nice home is the kind of problems they would love to have.
Yeah. These are definitely good problems to have, in relation to others, but I still think this premise is applicable to more than just the white middle class. Thank you for watching and lending a different perspective.
Or perhaps this film is opening your eyes to the fact that what you think you want because you can't have it, could actually be an even worse nightmare than not being able to have it!!! We all want what we can't have until we get it and realise that it comes with a whole other set of often even worse problems.
A thoughtful review engagingly expressed!!! I LOVE movies like this one... movies which take their time to take you on a journey that is beyond mere entertainment and, even if not perfect, definitely have something interesting to say! I'm happy to subscribe and check out your other videos.
Thank you so much. Yeah. Vivarium definitely tests your patience from time.to time, but it's all part of the experience. One of the best movies of 2020. Thank you for subscribing.
@@Pleasedontmakeascene Couldn't agree more!! ANY film that stays with you long after, and keeps you thinking about it and even manages to make you actually feel what the protagonists feel, now THAT is truly the kind of film that I love!! Tell me, are you a fan of The Invitation? I just bet you are and I bet you've got a video that I'm gonna go find now. Also Midsommar and Hereditary??

One of my favorite modern horror movies. So chilling and unique.
Yes!!! So underappreciated. I haven't seen it since 2019 and I still think about it sometimes
From the time the movie started to the time it ended I was so mentally engaged, loved hearing your take on this film my man!
Thank you for watching, and for commenting. I am glad you liked it.

Why am i just now finding this movie
Because it was a very small movie that was kind of misunderstood and therefore forgotten
@@Pleasedontmakeascene I've seen smaller movies that are cult classics that are almost 40 years old this movie came out 5 years ago
Nice analysis! Really want to see movie, I've also been interested in it.
It should be available to rent digital in Sweden now.
It is a hard watch, but it is rewarding.
Thank you for watching.
Gott att se dig Rasmus. Var ett tag sen.
@@Pleasedontmakeascene Yeah I looked it up after your review and saw that it was available. Will have to check it out :)
