Actually, not only the japanese names have meanings, for example Elizabeth means "the oath of god", Alex "the defender", Pablo "little", Adolf "noble", Emily "rival" or "laborious", and like this with nearly every single name.

Yeah, but we've lost the meaning of names every time it got transliterated to another language. Or just don't associate names with their meanings anymore.
Just look at the name Smith, almost nobody named Smith is actually a smith.
Another examples is John, which comes from Yohanan(God's gift). How many people named John/Jack are actually Christian.
