A lot of Cave shumps. They tend to add so much into their ports. Mushihimesama and Dodonpachi on Switch for example have a lot of different modes to pick from.
I remember the ninja ban in the UK. Very weird and only seemed to apply to certain things. Doesn't apply anymore and everyone at school still called them Teenage Mutant NINJA Turtles. Contrary to government fears at the time, the lifting of the ban did not result in us becoming a nation of people that'd settle conflicts with shuriken.
Trivia (that no doubt most here will know already): Road Avenger was directed by Yoshihisa Kishimoto, who also did FMV game Cobra Command and went on to design Double Dragon for Technos later. The red car in Jimmy and Bimmy's garage is the one from Road Avenger, and the helicopter from Double Dragon II references the one from Cobra Command.
Could it be possible that the thugs that are in Road Blaster/Road Avenger might also be the Black/Shadow Warriors, and that Jimmy had a wife that had d i e d , thus the reason for him fighting with his brother Billy over Marian? I mean, if you think about it long enough, it does kind of make sense, right?
@@MarcioCampassi It was on the previous Better Than the Arcade video. Soul Calibur was too. I'm thinking all the Tekken games are better at home. Sometimes the arcade versions were slightly better for visuals but the home versions have more game modes and ending videos.

In the Nes Jackal, the cut scenes change depending on how well you did in the level. If I recall correctly, you get the scene where they say, "Yeah!!!" If you don't die at all, you get "We made It!" If you die once, and "Here?" If you die more than once. Jackal, along with Contra and Super C are the few Nes games I can complete without dying.
Man, I had a rough last few days, so seeing this video pop up in my subscriptions was very much needed. I mean, I knew there would be a video today since it's Sunday and all, but of course I don't take for granted that you are always going to put out a video, or even an on-time video etc. Joe. The game that sold me the PSX over the N64 back then. It really had a lot of content for a fighting game, one of my favourites ever. It was mandatory watching the whole intro sequence every time!

I don't know the NES game for DK is good, especially after Nintendo created the ROM hack that added the Pie Factory back into the game. I think the Gameboy version is great, but it's not really Donkey Kong Arcade, it's a completely different game. The first 4 levels are just a setup for the rest of the game. I love Road Avenger on the Sega CD. The SNES MSU1 port is amazing, I just wish it had the Sega CD intro music.
I played a lot of Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast, and spent a lot of time in the Crazy Box. I liked Crazy Taxi 2 and 3 a lot too, and the Crazy Box was a big part of that.

The Saturn version is usually considered to be the best with the Dreamcast coming in a close Second. The Playstation version has longer load times, less detail on the background and is missing frames of animation on the characters. The Saturn version is Arcade perfect plus it has all the extra content from the Playstation version.

I have to add something to the NES/FDS port of Jackal/Top Gunner, and that is, depending on how well that you beat a Stage, your cut scene will also change. This, as far as I know, does not happen in the Arcade version of the game.

Everyone seems to miss the turbo boost in Crazy Taxi, which makes all the difference! Drop into reverse, then slam accelerate and forward gear at the same time (there's a knack to it). You can turbo reverse too, by, um, reversing this process
I miss the time where they add a lot of extras for arcade ports.. compared to now where most of them give you exact barebone arcade ports or at most just add in training mode
Street Fighter Alpha 3 on PS1. I always liked goofing around the "Wold Tour" mode, it defitively added something to make it worthwile over the arcade version.
I finally got to play Road Blaster this week (Sega CD version) after years of hearing you talking about it, and it was even better than I was expecting! Thanks, I would never have looked into a laser disc/FMV game like that otherwise.

I've fought that FACT for over 30 yrs with people who I believe truly haven't played the arcade version 😂 Also, I like how you were being sarcastic by saying, "Because the Super Nintendo can't scale sprites" when Mode 7 is what that was made for.
Um, no. Mode 7 specifically scales and rotates a background layer, not sprites. It was often used to create large rotating enemies by using some remarkably clever trickery involving sprites masquerading a background elements and screen partitioning.

The Game Boy version of Donkey Kong was what paved the way to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series 10 years later. Unfortunately, only the first game actually played like the original, but that did get a HD remake on the Switch as of early this year. Speaking of Donkey Kong on Game Boy, someone is currently working on a Game Boy Color DX rom hack that will add full color and quality of life improvements. It's stated to be released some time next year, so hopefully it won't be too long before we get to play it.

For sure, for a brief moment of PS2 release, the arcade contrapart were still using old boards. But Tekken 3 also has a lot more on PS1 then arcade

If texting girls is arcade mode and rizzing them in person is console mode, I'm a much better translation than my arcade mode.

Tekken games also had bonus modes at home you didnt get in the arcade.
You could probably cover most of the tekken series in this way.

the PSP version of Crazy Taxi was amazing. 2 game's cities, multiplayer, and custom soundtracks (so you could put the original one back into it)

Speaking of Donkey Kong on Game Boy, someone is currently working on a Game Boy Color DX rom hack that will add full color and quality of life improvements. It's stated to be released some time next year, so hopefully it won't be too long before we get to play it.
