Sept. 1997 tour through now demolished River Rouge High School, Mich. with my brother, a 1958 graduate. We revisit the print shop, swimming pool and auditorium among others.
My parents lived in River Rouge back in the 1950's when they both came to Michigan from the south. My dad worked at Fleetwood General Motors and my mother worked at Cunningham's. The school still looks usable. Too bad it is gone now. They build stuff to last back in 1921.
J Norris Girls locker room. Mine was the 3rd green one on the right side in 1985 it's a shame. The historical history of: Southwestern , Western & River Rouge high school is gone. Never to be seen again Smh
Too bad the new high school is in worse shape now 13 years later, than the old one was when they tore it down. New school is another one of Barton Malow's junk buildings.
Thank you for posting this. Good memories.
