I'd like to add that Holly is not simply a world class boxer,she is a world class martial artist. Her clinch looked phenomenal,her movement as well,her distance control,kicks,elbows and even takedowns. She is a complete martial artist,not just a boxer. People thought there arent any higher level martial artists then Ronda? That's because they belived the hype. There is no such thing as an unbeatable fighter. Holly showed incredible understanding of the fighting game in general,not just boxing. Indeed, compared to Holly's footwork and striking game, Ronda looks like an amateur. Someone who never had a decent one-two combination or at least a body/headkick during her entire carieer simply can not be called the best. Ronda might be the best at judo throws and transitions into a ground submission, but that's that. MMA is a dangerous game and one needs to be excelent at all aspect to rule the game. Ronda's striking and movement are decent ,but nowhere near the level of the best martial artists in the UFC roster. I will say it again, i belive this is good for Ronda, for her character and development as a martial artist. This was a much needed wake up call for her, her fans and the UFC.
And the reason we still talk about Tyson today and not Lenox Louis is not because "Tyson was a bad guy" ,it's because he ripped everyone's head off in the first round. For years he was putting people to sleep. That is why people still talk about Tyson.
She really did fight a perfect fight. They even nailed it. Heart, talent and amazing coaches. Plus she's classy as fuck.

All he has talked about during the build up to the fight is that Ronda has better MMA striking, Holly doesn't have a shot in hell, Ronda would destroy Cris Cyborg, Ronda's boxing is elite. Brendan knows what he's talking about, but no one knew where her striking was. We also didn't know how she would react to a striking match and just a knockout. She just failed bad. Sparring she probably does look good, but fighting is different bc fighters don't hold back.

Look at both of them Physically, Holly looks like a triathlete and she has the athleticism of a gymnast. Rhonda dosent have those qualities, What ronda has is master judo and grappling but all that is thrown out the window when your fighting a Master striker in boxing and kickboxing who is a physical specimen and also ronda cant take her down. As Rashad said after the fight Ronda can fight her 10 more times holly will win all those 10 times.

I thought these guys were experts. Ronda CAN beat most strikers. She just couldn't beat Holm because Holm had 100% takedown defense going into the fight. Ronda relies heavily on takedowns, so Holly was her biggest weakness.

This is the best post-fight analysis and commentary I've seen. Very honest and real. I think the better PREPARED fighter won. Jackson-Winklejon were FAR superior to Edmond - no question in my mind. Holly had a gameplan and you can tell, was *thinking*, not just winging it and hoping.
Her confidence derived from that plan. It's the difference between being lost in the woods with only a canteen or having a map and a compass. Holly knew where she was going.
Ronda, meanwhile, looked lost in the woods. Ill-prepared, she simply had no answer. She committed *basic* mistakes, over and over again ad nauseum. It was not even competitive, because it's not competitive when your opponent repeatedly keeps making the same mistakes.
Last, when people say Ronda ran into a real boxer I believe don't really know what they're talking about. There are correct counters to everything. What Ronda - and Edmond -- should have studied was footwork, particularly circling left. Then head movement, which includes the waist and, of course, footwork.
Without addressing these basic elements, Ronda won't even begin to solve the challenge that Holly Holm is.
Anyone who thinks Ronda has to raise her boxing game to Holly's level is wrong. It's like saying to be competitive with Stephen Curry, I have to shoot 3's as good as him. Ronda needs to get back to basics and learn DEFENSE. If she can stop chasing in a straight line and learn proper footwork (circling left, NOT pivoting/turning, how to cut off) she has a chance, because there will be moments when Ronda can shoot and leverage her judo, bjj and submissions.

Ronda doesn't have to catch up to Holm in striking.... it can never happen. Ronda needs to get herself into position to grapple. No1 on her plan is grapple and getting there without taking much damage is the key. head movement, slip the left hand dont eat it and drive forward when Holly throws it. feints... get yourself into grappling position and Olympic Judo the shit out of Holm

She made a damn good prediction, well except for the last 5 words!
