Thank you - a very clear explanation. Been meaning to do this for years. Mine is SE- Kent based on the late 50's and early 60s. A mixture of steam and electric. I was around when the electric rails were extended to the Kent Coast of Folkestone to Dover.
This is indeed some excellent stuff Cherrice :-). Nice stuff :-). Excellent :-). Take grace care Cherrice and I'm certainly wishing you well :-). From your friend Foxy :-).
Great Work lad! Your 3rd rail, modeling engineering work looks superb! ( Back in the 90s, I modeled 3rd rail, using Peco 3rd rail chairs, with code 55 rail. This as I Attempted 100 lbs./ Yard, third rail. It did actually slid on a bit easier, with an ok profile. I'm about to attempt this hideous ordeal again, as I model the NYC Subway, and elevated lines to the outer boroughs). Your London area system, looks really great!!! Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks. It's certainly not a fun task and thats putting it nicely, but like you said the results look really good. Once its all weathered and finalised it should look how I want it to. Good luck with your NYC subway! If its on your channel I shall be following with interest
It does look like a pfaff but it is true to the way Southern region has worked for the last 80 years. I'm sure you'll get plenty of views as I didn't know what drill size to use or how many sleepers to space out the chairs. Thanks.

I shall be doing this a lot as all my trains are 3rd rail electric, thanks for the tips.
Thats one of those jobs that wake you up in the night screaming! Lol looking good!
Yeah it certainly requires a lot of patience lol

Nice to see you have accurately modelled around pointwork.
Thanks, I went out and looked at some real life examples before I made a start on it.

Another good video looks very fiddly to do but certainly worth it
That con rail looks mighty impressive. Any plans to add this to your new layout?
Thanks. I will definitely add it at some point. It certainly adds a lot of realism to the layout.
Nice quick and simple guide.
The end result looks great.
Shame there is no 3rd rail on the GWML. ;)
Ah that is true, but at least you have loads of GWR units to choose from. Hardly any from the south east have been made! lol
Nice explanation
The outcome looks good
Now just need caking up with black deposits.... just what your back needs!
Yeah i think ill let me back recover before I weather it!
Great video and looking great!
Great video! looks great! thanks for the tips!
Now I want a third rail!
You should give it a go! :P
Great video will have to try this as I have one third rail unit
Although is fiddly, it really does look good once its all done
Good job m8. It looks great.
Great video looks great cheers for now.
Good video mate and it looks great.
To cut the cost I use old nackered pre owned rails for the 3rd rail
thank you as I am just going to lay third rail but not sure how to do it
Is it possible of making your own third rail actually active like the real thing?
I dont think so. I know there used to be an old hornby model that had the option to run on over head gantries
Looked quite easy but i wasnt doing it lol.
The process itself is pretty easy, but its just very fiddly
Using scripts now? Thats excellent. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, stops me from saying "erm" all the time lol
