    I hope nothing fell into that mine shaft! Innovative way to move overburden thou.I wonder did they know that had been deep mined?

    That looks like a huge seam of coal! Where is it?

      Paul P It is located in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, CA. The Foord seam is said to be the thickest in the world with estimate of coal seams being as thick as 48 feet.

    I think they work from 7am to 5pm right now. Operators are responsible for greasing their machines and a mobile wash truck keeps everything clean.

      I never worked on a strip where you had to service your own machine, grease oil or fuel. I have however did that job . My work began when everyone else left.
