"A feature-rich Harmonic Tremolo..." is how The EarthQuaker Devices website describes the Night Wire. Boy, that's an understatement! Straight tremolo, harmonic tremolo, tremolo with phase, tremolo with envelope, Q-Filter, envelope filter, phaser, dynamic tremolo... I'm sure I've forgotten something. The Night Wire is an inspiring pedal and one of the few in the 1500 or so that I've demoed that I have zero plans to flip. It's blue and white brother, the Dispatch Master would be another example, again from EarthQuaker Devices.
The Night Wire is special and EQD should be proud. That's where I'll leave it. Watch the video, form your own opinion.

This guy does the best demos on the Interwebs! Why? He's clearly not on someone's payroll. He doesn't try to show off. He explains just the right amount and plays just the right amount. He isn't full of BS.
He clearly is on a payroll! Which is not to say he doesn't absolutely do a stellar job
You’re so naive…
These videos are all infomercials no matter who does them.
Your last post/noodle with this device sold me on this pedal. It arrived today. I'm sniffing the box as I type.
I know this was six years ago, and I’ve enjoyed your demos over the years, but this just popped up. My long standing appreciation for your fine playing just went much higher when I heard “Last Chance Texaco” coming over the speakers. Cheers Brett.
Thanks for describing how it works. Most of the other demos don't, and something like this really needs to be explained. Super sound quality in your vids too. Good job. Not to mention the fantastic playing. None better at demos.
Wow...I had already decided that this was my favorite EarthQuaker pedal and would be one of the first that I would buy, but NOW!...great video and demo of what you will be getting out of it.
Excellent Review - Beautiful Pedal that I will be owning soon!
As always great demo sir ! Beautiful opening , there's something still so pure about playing a lovely Tele through a great amp with a trem and just strumming some chords.
Thank you for starting my morning
I've had mine for about 6 months. Very happy with it. Setting it is actually very intuitive. I'm technologically impaired and learned everything quickly. Another thorough review. Keep up the great work!
well that sounds absolutely amazing
Man. I gotta admit when I saw TREMOLO, I was put off on this thing. Here to find out, it's sooooo much more. Great job on this pedal, Jamie, as well as your demoing skills, Brett. Cheers!
Another great video, thank you sir.
This might well be my next pedal purchase, sounds fantastic.
✌🏻
Have one on it's way, this demo got me way more excited about this pedal!
Great demo, brother. The intro reminds me of Last Chance Texaco (on Rickie Lee Jones' debut album). Classic song, on a classic album :-).
I use mine with my J200 with Acus amp, it is spectacular. This review was so very helpful, thank you!!
Cool tremolo and another nice demo 👊🏻🙏
Great demo. Truly one of the most versatile pedals out there. So glad I got one.
How does this stack up to the catalinbread harmonic mesmerizer?
use it as a notch filter and crank the level and it's a handy boost/cocked wah-ish tool, too.
and why would anyone want to do that...?
@@bertagriese8282 Ask Jimmy Page, Slash, Matt Pike, Mick Ronson. There’s a ton of people that have used it as an effect to have their solos cut through. Also a great trick in the studio, double your guitar, but play that part through a cocked way sound and pan that to the other side
inspirational pedal. thank you
Rickie Lee Jones, last chance texaco, nice choice, great demo of an awesome pedal
Your demos are amazing.
Great demo, money just left my wallet.
3:10 Amazing sound, enough to buy it!
very nice, but my question would be, if you already own a tremolo, and phase pedal can you pretty much get these sounds?
Great demo
Can I ask how this compares to something like the Keeley Dynatrem or the Bearfoot Mint Green Vibe? Tremolo is my 'go-to' modulation effect but I am looking for something that give a little more character than just a variation in volume. I'd be grateful for your take and a little advice. ~ Cheers.
nice demo !
Dynamic trem...like a lot . Alive.
Really great demo, thanks
Love my Rickie
How does this compare to the Earthquaker Grand Orbiter Phaser in terms of the phaser functionality on this baby? Does the Phaser do a long slow sweep?
It's kind of cross of a phaser, univibe, tremolo, and envelope filter..but with a function that controls the rate by attack..its full of possibilities
+smoothe operator turn the rate low for a long slow sweep
Didn’t know this pedal had so many different functions I wondered what “harmonic” tremolo meant.
What is the first tune he's playing? I know it, but cannot recall ....
Last Chance Texaco - Rickie Lee Jones.
Thanks!
way better than reverb demo. cheers!
Earthquaker pedals are in a class of their own, everything else is second
ok ok, I'm gonna buy one
Nice bit of Last Chance Ohio ...
Sadly, EQD, and I suppose SIT is our saving face here in Akron. I just wish SIT were better strings.
So would you take this over the Dazatronyx optical trem? I know you liked that one, but you seem pretty enamoured with this
Yes. With all due respect to the Dazatronyx, it doesn't offer nearly the scope and functions of the Night Wire. But if you just want a straight up optical tremolo, it's great.
Thanks, much appreciated
Sounds like it was made for Dave Gilmore. Dark Side of the Moon era.
Ok so that's pretty killer.
The only sin is that this pedal is not stereo
Too fucking complex
