    That’s like a $7 dollars an hour work? I’m not it makes sense. What am I missing?

      Great question, the more you batch, in theory it drives the time down. But sometimes things don’t work the way you want. I appreciate you watching and asking questions.

    Why did you butcher that chair???????

    • @WoodturningWithJohnMarro
      @WoodturningWithJohnMarro  9 месяцев назад

      Because it was one chair that you could maybe sell in our area for about $40. Or, take all the spindles, sell them to crafters for 3 to 4 times that much. So that leaves the seats. I agree with you, there is a way easier way to make the mushrooms.
      Funny thing about this online craft business - people buy weird things.
      Again, thank you for watching, commenting and providing feedback. I have only been doing wood turning for a little over a year. So I am constantly learning and the comments help! Enjoy :)

      @@WoodturningWithJohnMarro Well you are a beginner for just a very short time. ;-)
      TIP, check out masterturner Rick Raffan, he has his own channel on YT. Enjoy.
      The book "turning green wood" by Michael O'donnell will help you understand how to "read" treebranches. available 2hand cheap.
      Make your own spalted Birch by laying some pieces in moist garden soil for a few weeks, it will give a marble effect in the otherwise plain white birchwood.
      And I have to agree with you, nothing weirder on this planet as the human species.

      @@WoodturningWithJohnMarro If you would make the same shape mushrooms from branches of trees ( maybe with a little bit of bark left on the widest part of the hood and all around the bottom) you will get a more appealing look on the finished product.
      And btw it is much less work.
