God Sends His Servant to Suffer for Us, Isa 53:4-6, 10-12 (UGP) Pastor Angeleen Walker, Rock of Ages

The fact that we are transgressors reminds us that our sins are acts of willful disobedience to a holy God. “Whosoever committeth sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4). Christ, however, stepped in to intercede for transgressors. “The Servant is thus a go-between, interposing between two parties, not as a barrier but as a bridge…The Lord put his Servant in between, using Him as a means of disposing of that (our iniquity) which alienated Him from us. Here the Servant comes voluntarily to stand with us so that when He had borne our sin, He might bring us to God” (Motyer quoted in Bible Expositor and Illuminator Union Gospel Press, Winter Quarter 2024-25).
