Pokemon Investing August 2024 - get ready, because Pokemon is going to be a rapid fire event for the second half of 2024. The new set, Shrouded Fable, is coming out on August 2nd. Then, Stellar Crown is coming out on September 13th. Then, another set, Surging Sparks in November!
Plus, there's lots of reprint rumors that are almost confirmed, especially for Scarlet & Violet 151. And then the booster boxes of Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet have all slowed down quite a bit. Let's take a look!

I pre order a sealed Case of Stellar Crown. I dont like the Shrouded Fabel Set
Without a doubt, this year will be worse than the last one. I lost a lot of money last year as a result of poor investing decisions that I would never have made if I hadn't been so concerned about my portfolio. I kept investing, but I wasn't sure whether I should start saving for a house. In the end, I sold everything I had, and the house required more maintenance than I had anticipated. I'm not sure how much longer I can go on like this

I think Japanese is the best play right now. Can get 151, Lost Abyss, Star Birth & Vstar universe for $58, Shiny treasure, Crimson Haze, Ruler of the black flame, Ancient Roar, Future flash, Cyber Judge, Scarlet EX, raging Surf, Violet EX, Mask of Change, Night Wanderer, Wild Force for $29, Triple beat, Clay burst, Incandescent Arcana, Paradigm trigger for $36. For these boxes to double and triple in price is not such a stretch. When the Japanese economy and Yen bounces back there will be people coming back for these that had to sell just to get by. For a $200 Lost origin box to double and triple will definitely take a longer time. you can get 4 to 6 Japanese boxes for 1 $200 English box. Japanese will have its day again.

My Target still has plenty of chilling reign ETBs and hidden potential Giratina v tins but as far as booster boxes go the only one worth a damn right now is the Japanese 151 set. Still able to get them for $75 and the value on the set is more than evolving skies which is all the explanation anyone needs. Chilling reign is a good set only because of the abysmal pull rates. It will without a doubt be worth big bucks but right now at $220-$240 a booster it’s simply not worth it unless you plan on holding onto them until 2026 at the earliest.
I don’t think shrouded will get open quite as much as stellar crown. For me I think people will be getting the singles instead of opening packs themselves

To my knowledge, every Pokemon product has at least reached msrp over time. Some obviously reach highs faster than other

I was wondering but I am thinking its the big players who are pumping it up before the possible reprint drops prices again. Seems like this has happened with Paldea and is starting to look like it is for 151 before the reprint drops.
@@Top_Loaded_JRGS77tbh i think its pretty inline with shrouded fable release helping an older deck out to deal with meta shifts.

Wanting to get into collecting/investing. I see you have mostly reference box of packs. Do people invest in trainer boxes? Or the packs with promo cards with 4 booster packs. Or should you only buy full boxes? Thanks
Everything is okay, but the generally accepted thing is that booster boxes are typically best. They are the most condensed value in an easy to store box

@@thehobbydad6930 and short handing the rest of us. I bet the people lucky enough to get the product early have a ton of it, and that’s why it’s delayed. They might as well be truthful about why they have non for the initial release day.
Actually won’t be 2/3 done with the SV era, Gen 10 video game isn’t coming until 2026, which means the SV era either needs 16 main sets or they need to start spacing them out. No way they release Gen 10 cards before the game.
Shrouded Fable is looking really weak compared to the rest of the 2024 sets. Also, Halloween vibe released way before the holiday seems..... IDK..... Who approved this?
Just realised the Pokémon 151 binder has 360 slots but including the reverse hollows there are 372 cards in the English set , why is the maths not mathing😂

long term buy sealed products. will always be better in long run. plus the ct scanners will effect individual pack values in future. good luck
Anyone with pokemon knowledge give me some advice. I want to invest in a pikemon card between 1-1.5k and give it to my son who can sell when he's 18 years old. Any recommendations? I like psa 9 1st edition gyrados. Ir base set charizard psa 9. What do use all think? Any better options?
Id look for a PSA10 for his first card! Which card i could not tell you but charizards hold their value very well.

I think even 151 was ugly and underwhelming except for a few cards. Let’s hope the Tag team and team rocket sets are gorgeous. Those will be the best sets in SV I think
@SmoothOperator419 I think 151 was a great. It had God Packs, illustrations rares, and some awesome SIR arts. Zapdos, big three etc.
I think people just want these sets with tons of crazy cards. It’s not going to happen, or it shouldn’t. What makes the chase cards so fun to go for, aside the value, is the fact they’re some of the coolest looking cards. If there was tons of them, they lose their lust. 🤷🏻♂️
And om still buying cheap chilling reign...think im way behind the mark lol 🤣🤣🤣

Just buy a case of any new set under 600 is the goal. They go up over thousands over time.

lol I bought cards last month before all this news came out. So I don’t know what the difference is. This stuff was happening long before the news broke this week
I think people also forget people collect sealed products. They're not looking to open it. Look at sets like black and white. Opening the box almost guarantees losing value lol.

It costs $70 to CT scan a pack. No one will pay like $3k to do a modern booster box lol. It’s a good story tho
@@horatiocaine9241 They won't now, but in 10 years time unsealed packs won't hold value or increase because of CT scanners. Always by sealed product if looking to see long term gains imo
