Ricky stumbling with the chair added to the scene as Lucy was so excited to meet John Wayne, she practically plowed everyone out of the way!
Lucy shoving Ricky out of the way worked within the storyline!
1:00 I've seen that dozens of times, but I never thought it was a blooper. In fact, I thought it was hilarious that Lucy was so excited to meet John Wayne that she knocks her husband over!
Howard Wiggins Yes, it definitely strikes me as being in character.
Most of these I never thought were “bloopers” just real life scenarios. It’s very cool to hear the background of how it was supposed to be and why some “bloopers” are not corrected. It also just goes to show you how great of an actor everyone was to keep their composure and redirect
Ya know, I've been watching this show for at least 40 years, almost every day and I never noticed any of these! What a good eye u have! I still watch it every am from 5:00-8:00 a.m. !! I really do love Lucy ! Thx 4 sharing. Jeannine
I noticed a blooper in the episode where superman comes to little Ricky's birthday party, Lucy says little Ricky was born at 11 in the morning, the birth was at night because Ricky was working at the night club
LynnRest97 Actually, I believe it was a dress rehearsal not a show.
He already did that one.
Rick did state that! But maybe Lucy stated a "white lie,".so Little Ricky's party could be celebrated first?
That's right!! She and Carolyn Appleby were in heated competion over the birthday parties for each of their boys. And when they would occur.
Yeah... Lucy lies about her age, weight, the dates of the anniversary and her birthday... doesn't feel like a blooper for her to say something that doesnt match to beat Carolyn.
I love lucy is my favorite comedy of all time and so I was familiar with most of these except the Paris bag, had not noticed that one so thanks for that. I never thought of the John Waybe one as a blooper because pushing Desi out of the way is something star struck Lucy would absolutely do! In the blooper about the trunk when Lucy said "answer the phone dear", it seems that was improvised too because Desi was so distracted.
I wish sitcoms today would let bloopers go like that. It feels so much more natural. No wonder the show is still great to watch.
I agree! Most of the "bloopers" didn't spoil the show, because they looked like real life. It just added to the believability of the show and endeared the audience to the characters. Often it looked like the actors were ad-libbing, and very well. I was surprised to learn that everything (except the bloopers) was scripted.
But number 3 looks so natural, like that's how regular people talk, I was answering the phone and noticed that trunk
I love watching these. Thank you so much!
It is a well known fact that Fred and Ethel hated each other. Throughout the show Vivian suffered from bouts of depression, which she did speak on in her book.
Thank you , for all you do !!! Keep the good work
This was fantastic. Can't believe you found these !! I never noticed any of them. I love your channel so much !
+Steven Patrick Stone Thanks Steven. So glad you enjoy it as much as I do to make!
Another great video Nick always look forward to them
I agree, love a young I Love Lucy fan. I grew up loving these shows even though most were filmed before I was born in 1958. I have
Watched for years! Good work Rick. You are very dedicated.
It must have been hard to always be on live tv but man they were all amazing ty rick for this amazing look at I love lucy😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
It wasnt live tv, just a live audience. The show was unique in that Desi pioneered the concept of using film for television, which is why the quality of I Love Lucy on DVD or streaming is so high compared to the Honeymooners, which didnt use film during the performance. Also, the show did in fact use editing and insert shots.
As a preschooler,I was put in front of the TV.it was then that I fell in love with Lucy and wanted to be like her when I grew up!
+Deirdre Caskenette she was such a great person to look up to!
loved the I love Lucy show and ur videos. thank you.

+faith4jesus No problem! Thanks for watching!
Great blooper video!
Thank you for this great video and narrative. I love Lucy. Stay well
It means the world to us Rick that you take the time to produce such wonderful videos for us.
And your support means so much to me as well! Thanks so much for it!
Nice job. Thank you.
Love your videos I searched a lot of different information behind the scenes so thank you so much
+Cynthia Jotim Im so glad you like it all!
Great video. I noticed almost all those bloopers before I watched your video. Thanks
+Bobby Blue No problem, Bobby. I do hope you continue to enjoy my content as more is on the way

Your videos are fun and relaxing. I watch Lucy when I was a kid- they were new then. Thanks.
+Longhorn77Gunner Thank YOU for your support! Glad you like them and that you can relax
💯❤ seeing Dezi made my mind hurt, lol Liked the insight as always, so eagle eyed
This is a great video. I Love Lucy was the best show ever.
Thank you!
This was the best attempt at TV Comedies which is still highly rated. Lucille showed her talents wonderfully and I am highly impressed.
Rick, during this depressing time of isolation, I can't BEGIN to express how much these Lucy tidbits of yours is actually making me feel BETTER! Only criticism is the SOUND on the clips is MUCH softer than your narration. Can't wait to indulge in this treasure-trove, so thank you again for the entertainment and want to tell you that your work is incredible. I THOUGHT I was the Lucy trivia-fan but NO match for you!!!!!
I remember that is one episode Ricky said, "I guess I'll have to turn the other chick" instead of cheek. Idk if that was planned or not. But in the same episode later, Lucy and Ricky were dancing and Ricky started singing. In the song he said, "When we're dancing cheek to cheek" and he said cheek clear as day!
#1 looked on propose so great job Desi
Number 4 looks natural, too!
Great job! Keep it up! Lucy was brilliant!
+Steffy Hobmann She was a legend!
@@ricknineg also lucy was a big time drunk! In reality!
Nice job. I love the show.
+Julio Smith I appreciate that, Julio!
Great job.. Keep up the great work! I really enjoyed watching all of your videos. :)
+Lisa Luthern Thanks Lisa.
rick nineg You are so welcome hun :)
They played it so well that if indeed they were bloopers...you really cant tell
I love watching your videos. It makes a person wonder how we miss some of the bloopers. The biggest one I have seen several times and I am not sure youve ever mentioned it though I would think you have and I just missed it. Many times the living room clock says the same time and there have been occasions that 2 clocks show 2 different times in the same scene.
Great job, i really enjoyed this. You should work in production.
+Brandon Johnston Wow! What a compliment, Brandon. I am very humbled. Thanks a million for your support!
i did see a view of them on my own but had fun watching them again. :D
We love you Rick Nineg and I Love Lucy!!!
Good job
Lol I still love Fred screaming "A THOUSAND FRANKS?!!!" He just heard thousand as with money and freaked out lol
Love this. In the episode Too Many Crooks S3 E9 Lucy and Ethel think that each other is Madame X. They each try to get their fingerprints on something. Ethel takes Ricky’s cigarette case and Lucy is looking for it on the couch. She messed up on this line “Ricky have you got your silver cigarette case?” She had trouble saying silver cigarette case.
Really? The Z in Desi? That is absolutely fantastic observation.
Just for you
I Love Lucy color my favorite one fan Big 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🎶🗽
U are amazing❤
my favorite show of all time! My cell ringtone is the ILL theme song! How do you find these bloopers?? Fabulous!
I actually thought the first blooper where Desi or Ricky fell or moved the chair, was on purpose because she wanted to meet John soooo badly!! 😉
im a huge fan of Lucille ball. keep making these please
+crystal Sullivan You're so sweet, Crystal. Thanks for the support. More vids coming your way!
In the same episode Chet is talking about, you can see a feather floating in Lucy's living room.
Awesome job! You are amazing !!!
+T Oribe Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed, more to come!
rick nineg keep the good work man !!
Wow, I didn't know a lot of those were bloopers, they were very professional to be able to cover them up and keep going. I remember one in a bathroom scene with Lucy and Ricky, you could see Fred in the background looking like he was studying his script.
Yup! Be sure and check out my other vids as I have so much content for you!
Did you notice on the end credits that you show had the name Argyle Nelson. On the Lucy Show (Lucy becomes a Reporter) Argyle Nelson is Viv's old boyfriend.
+Audrey Cordova You've got a good eye! The writers often used people in production and crew as names for characters on the show. Pretty interesting fact! Thanks for watching!
These were good actors. Can’t tell any flubs. They covered anything
wrong so naturally, all is STILL funny & well. I Love Lucy shows were the best of comedy, just hilarious. I made sure My children and my grandchildren knew what CLEAN comedy was.
Aren't you fun! I very much appreciate your breathing new life in to these classics. Being snarky and bald seems required to be a part of the 1980's Lucy fan club bunch. Unappealing,, but you are a different story. It's refreshing to see your take on the classics. You are the future, as the others grow tired. I subscribed long ago, and I always get something out of your videos. Wishing you increasingly stronger success in the bright future. -Hopeful Disney animator Dave Woodman.
Thanks Dave!
These are really great...when I watched the Bon voyage episode I seen Ricky Kick Ethel in the mouth and thought it was hilarious because you knew it was a accident and she rolled with the punches...we'll kicked in this case...and I thought that first one where Lucy knocks Ricky over the chair I always thought that was part of the show trying to show her excitement over John Wayne coming in but I didn't see the rest...but again Rick what a wonderful job you've done...I just love them.....and of course why wouldn't I? It's I love Lucy... :)
Isn't it great how some of these bloopers are just so minor that actors were professional enough to just roll with it? That is talent right there!
Mr. Rick, Love these bloopers. I've been talking about there for years. Here are some you didn't mention; on the episode where Lucy replaces Buffo the Clown, notice when she says to Ricky, "What Thin! and That's English?" She tries to stop laughing. Watch her mouth. And when Buffo's bike brakes lock, pay attention that he jumps off of the bike. Also, when Lucy get's on Look Magazine, when Rick goes to sit down and there are eggs in the chair, notice he puts his hand down first to smash the eggs before he sits down. Last one for now, in the Operetta, notice how the ladies are in the camera shot waiting back stage to come out when the men are taking the set away. I know of many others, but this will do for now.
+Mr Grace Thanks! I will keep this in mind for future episodes!
RICK! This video is even better than the previous one! Your eye for detail is incredible - you should be a tax auditor!!
+kerryincolumbus There would be good money in being a tax auditor huh?
Depends on a few things.. working for the IRS.. well, kinda... working for a major corporation.. by all means!
Love your videos! So on point. Great job! One comment I want to make and ask your opinion is the episode where the Ricardos host a dinner party in California I think. It was a spaghetti dinner and of course the serving plate falls on the floor. Then they eat spaghetti off of the floor. This is kind of gross. What do you think?
Can you tell me more of this episode? I don't recall any like that... ...are you sure you don't mean the Brown Derby Episode? They are served Spaghetti Dinner in true Italian style at the booth and when Lucy takes a fork full the strands are so long they hang from her mouth to her plate and don't stop coming up off the plate to her mouth. Ethel quickly opens her purse and with grooming sizzors snips the spaghetti strands so Lucy is able to swallow them without choking or embarrassment. Later in the episode, the starstruck Lucy knocks over the waiter who dumps the plate of spaghetti he was bringing to William Holden all over him. That the only episode in which there is a mishap with spaghetti I can think of. And it was hilarious not gross. .
Loved these videos of yours, they are such a joy!
You are obviously a great detective, and a great Lucy fan, so I have a case for you!
As a kid, I read the book Lucy & Ricky & Fred & Ethel and it very briefly mentioned that during one summer hiatus of the show (shows taped 39 episodes back then and were only off 13 weeks in the summer), the I Love Lucy cast went to Vegas and did an I Love Lucy musical!
The Operetta has always been one of my favorite episodes, but I've never been able to find a single scrap more of info about what must have been an amazing musical! I was wondering if you were aware of it, or if you could find out more than (the nothing) that I have?
+RLucas3000 Thanks! I will do a little research and see what comes up
Hey: Whether that handbag was purchased in Paris, France or 5th Avenue NYC and it has been years and years I would love to purchase that beautiful handbag! And this is in b&w I could just imagine how beautiful it is in color! As Lucy may do once in awhile: Waaaaaaah....
4:15-4:22 count the actually's there are but still really great job, your eye is spot on!
wow good job
+Alan Martinez Thank you Alan!
rick nineg your welcome you, done a great job with this fact finding, am sure it wasn't easy, lol, great job!😎
+Alan Martinez Thanks Alan! It is a lot of hard work but I am glad you enjoyed it!
rick nineg I believe we all do, you did get work
I think the bloopers added a reality ingredient that enhanced what we were watching.
The video about how they use the Ricardos Bedroom for the Mertzes living room. That video alerted me to notice that the Living room for the Ropers and Mr Furley is the same one used for Larry's livingroom or it certainly appears to be
All the bloopers are on the dvds
I discovered I Love Lucy one morning while getting ready for school years ago. (It comes on around 7:30 on CBS where I live) When I first watched it, I sat through the end credits and wrote everyone's name down because I was so interested in the show. When I looked up Desi, I was so surprised that they had spelt his name wrong in the ending credits. I was even more surprised that no one noticed until years after the shows end.
+Luna Deafenhine Thats so cool that you relaxed that early on
I love Lucy!
There's also another one, I think when Ricky got a sore throat, he was singing and Marco was playing the piano, Marco said ok Dez instead of ok Ricky
Hi Rick , thank you for all the I Love Lucy bloopers . I wanted to point out the episode The Ricardo's dedicate a statue , the little girl is not Lucie Arnaz . If the look at the production notes on the episodes DVD . It mentions that neither of the girls are Lucie . Only Desi Arnaz Jr . Is in the scene . Keep making them !
+Debbie Corrigan Yea, I made a note of that error in the description of the video. Thanks so much for watching. I am so glad you enjoy my videos
Your welcome. I love all the video's ! They were all a great team.
Hi Rick - Love the I Love Lucy blooper videos. However, you are missing one of the best. Take a look again at the Vitameatavegamin episode. During the scene where Ricky is performing his song, you can see Lucy standing in a hallway (which leads to the living room set) smoking a cigarette while waiting for her queue to come on stage. It's one of the best kept Lucy bloopers. No one ever seems to know about it.
+Dave Lay Thanks for watching Dave! Take a look at my other bloopers vids as I cover that living room one as well as many others!
Ahhh, that's great! I love that one. It offers such a rare look at them being themselves backstage.
+Dave Lay :)
I remember hearing Desi's familiar laugh along with the audience in the episode where Lucy is rehearsing "Slowly I turn, step by step etc" in the Ricardo's apartment. The only actors in the scene are Lucy and the other actor. You may have already caught that one or I may be wrong.
+randguy Yes, thats one of the episodes where Desi could be heard the loudest.
Did you catch the blooper in the charles boia ep when Lucy missed her mark. She was in the wrong place and when Ricky realize it. He grabs her by the arm and spins her into place inorder for her to meet her mark so she could be ready to hit charles in the face with the door. Ricky's quick thinking in swinging Lucy kind of surprises her based on her facial expression. But because she such a perfessional she completes the scene without stopping.
Another blooper in season 5 is in season 5, episode 11 "The Passports" The actor who speaks to Ricky in Spanish when Lucy is trapped in the trunk, calls him "Desi" right before he leaves. He says "Bueno, Desi, que yo tengo que ir...." Which translates to "Well, Desi, I have to go..." (I actually submitted it to IMDB) about 20 minutes into the episode
+Krystal Gates Ah yes, you mean Marco the Piano player
rick nineg yes siree! Did you include it?
If it was Marco, that's not the first time he called him Des
In the episode "Second honeymoon" where Ricki is singing to Lucy you can see the backstage in the window next to their room.
There's a good blooper in the episode where the Ricardos redecorate the Mertz's apartment. Lucy is supposed to say "There's just one thing to do: paint the apartment and reupholster the old furniture" Instead, she says, "There's just one thing to do: paint the furniture and reupholster the old furniture." Desi/Ricky teases her a little before moving on.
I love how they ad lib through their mistakes so well. It makes them seem more real that way.
Oh, and sorry if you covered that one already. I haven't watched all of the blooper videos yet.
have you shown the blooper from lucy redecorated where you see bill frawley waiting for his cue ....
+Chet Means Good catch! Will do when a Season 2 Bloopers vid drops
This may have been committed on ... the animal print handbag was also used by Ethel when Lucy, Ethel and Fred were trying to appear undesirable to get Ricky's deposit back towards buying the house in the country.
Well yes but that cannot be called sn error or blooper. By then it was established she had purchased it in the earlier episode.
I got one in the episode Lucy gets chummy Ricky flubbed his line. I think we should get chummy gradually.
What about the episode " redecorating the mertzes apartment" aired November 23 1953. After the new paint job is ruined by the feather stuffing from the furniture being reupholstered. Lucy gives the Mertzes her old furniture and she gets new furniture. At the end of the episode when she's showing it to Ethel, you can see random feathers floating in Lucy's apartment.
love Lucy
I am just curious. For example, how to you know the the one with Desi and the chair is actually a blooper?
I for real, until this point, thought it was Dezi cause thats how it was spelled in the Nick at Nite credits for the show, also for the TV land reruns
I never noticed the Dezi!
I read somewhere where Desi and Marco were good friends in real life, Marco referred to Ricky as Des on more than one episode.
Gee, I always thought, that was how Desi's name was spelled, with a z. And to think, that was a mistake... huh. Oh, and that first scene, when Lucy knocks over Desi, I thought it was on purpose, and made it more funny. 🤔😉
Alot of actors mouthed the words of other actors lines in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Will Smith did that in the first season especially in S1 E5 with Don Cheadle 👍🏻😀
I don't know if this is considered a blooper, but fred and Lucy mention using METHADONE to prevent seasickness. It happens on the Staten Island ferry. The sound is intact, but the "CC" ignores the word.
Have you considered making a reel about how they make certain scenes?
For sure!
