Hey Claudia - Your videos are very helpful. I have a transaction in my bank feed that doesn't match the payment that was transported from by interfaced program. The bank shorted the amount by a small amount of change then sent a credit for the change later. QBO will not allow me to match to the payment. I created a deposit for the two transactions but this did not clear the items from my bank feed. Any suggestions?

In this video it shows how to add the adjustment in the deposit so it can match the amount that cleared the bank. On the deposit click on add to this deposit and categorize the difference as bank fees or sales and add the difference as a negative amount to match what cleared in the bank fees. The video shows how to do it. If the amount is the same it will show a match

Great videos. Can you show me how to match an invoice to a deposit when they were deleted by mistake and then added back in. I have invoices that say they are due even when I know they have been paid but by mistake got unmatched from each other.

Follow the income transactions workflow in QuickBooks. Record the payment to undeposited funds, record the deposit to the bank you deposited the funds, find the transaction in the banking transaction, if you have already categorized bring it back to for review by clicking in the undo button, then match it with the deposit you recorded.

Thank you for the video! However, what if the deposit doesn’t match because there was a wire fee?! Lets say the invoice is for 10,000 but my deposit is for 9,970 due to a 30 dollar wire fee charge. Would I also click resolve and credit the bank charges?

Hi Fernanda, when you record the deposit you will add the expense as a negative amount to bring the deposit to the amount that hit the bank. This will also record the wire fee.

Can you also make a video discussing how to understand bank statement transactions? Cause sometimes, I have to manually input transactions on QBO using the bank statement and I struggle whether it was a transfer, or a deposit , a loan, etc.

Hello, I am new to Quickbooks online and oh boy, it is so different from the desktop version. I have been having a very hard time with this new process.
Ok, so for example, a customer pays his invoice of $257.50 in full with a credit card. I mark the invoices as paid in full, however, the deposit in the bank account does not match the amount the customer paid because the credit card company deducted their fee of $14.78. How can I write off the difference of the payment to the credit card fee account?

Hello, you will need to adjust the invoice to match what was paid in banking. If the customer received a discount add a discount line with a negative amount to match what discount was given. If you there is shipping cost add shipping cost. Whatever the difference is adjust for what it is.
