My son and I face scrutiny from family about our locs. When I started mine my family said my hair was "too pretty" to loc up...then a year in my son asked me if I would start his and now they say I've persuaded him. My grandma always reminds us that we can comb them out 🙄. But I love my hair and age has truly made me more comfortable. I love me and my branches.

I learned that 10x/10 when somebody says something negative about you it’s projecting in some way. Mad they don’t have the self confidence, mad they hate the texture god gave them, made their body built the way it is, something. Then they project it onto whoever is confident about something they learned to hate about themselves
I had a huge Afro just like yours, same curl pattern as well. And it was getting too long. It was so frustrating to take care of. I always wanted locs since I was a kid, but my white mother was against it. Now that I’m old enough I finally decided to loc my hair, and omg I’m in love with the process and how my hair can just loc up on its own. It’s a beautiful thing fr.

I did love my loose natural hair. Im 4c and i dont mind shinkage at all. Wash and go/afro to shrink my hair down to 2 inches ? No prob I'll rock it but the detangling 5 days later ? NO! Taking down my twist every damn 2 weeks and then detangling to wash it ? NO , the constant worrying about my hair tangling up ? NO. One day I just said imma put some twists in and never take them out. 4 months in and its the best decision I've ever made. seriously! Whoever don't like it can kick rocks I'm happy 🤣

That would be awesome bc (what I’ve observed personally) women in long term relationships started their journey during their relationships but I haven’t seen women meeting their mates with locs already. I found out recently that some men only see football players with locs and they’re not attracted to women with locs. This of course is generalized but I’m wondering how the dating game is affecting beautiful women with locs.

I never believed in saying the “ugly” stage either. Why would I call my hair ugly, and more importantly, why should I expect more of something that I feel so negatively about? Like I just don’t get the logic behind it. I honestly think this is why some peoples hair doesn’t grow pass certain lengths because they speak so negatively about it! it became so tedious doing my a hair and I was ready for a change i had changed careers and I became less focused on my hair.Getting locs was the best decision and it also inspire my 9 year old daughter to get locs and she truly loves it. Great video and a n even greater message.

Yesss and we love you back in the beginning of my journey I had a man that looked like the crackhead off the pjs comment on my RUclips short “what in the sway lee” I looked at the profile picture like now sir and just blocked him because I was like I know he is not talking, then the comment you said they said about little Wayne a lot of the people comments who have negative things to say about Locs and wear wigs be projecting because they leave they meek mill braids in under they wigs for 3-6months and don’t regularly wash their hair or their braids under the wigs hanging on by a thread looking like little Wayne Locs , you are gorgeous that man was a hater and then he writing his marital status like somebody cared or like somebody asked him I would’ve asked “does your wife know you all up under my pictures commenting ?🤔🤨” He was weird, but overall this was a great video 🔥👸🏾🦋💎

I’m on my 3rd set! I started my fist set in 1996. Back then it wasn’t like it is today. I loved my locs. I cut them after 5years because they were waist length and started to pop off. I restarted the second set the same day I cut the first set off😆 My second set I cut off after my baby was born because my texture changed and my new growth wouldn’t attach to the locs. That was back in 2005. This year I had some things going on and someone said to me do something for yourself, do something that makes you happy. The first thing that came to mind was starting my locs. I’m officially 2 months locd and I’m not looking back. I love my locs and I’m soo happy to see how far the loc community has come and grown. I love your videos. I’m so excited for this journey ahead. Blessings my loc sister!!

The loc journey is a different vibe yall... everytime I passby someone with locs we always have that look in our eyes that says I see you brother the loc journey be hard for us out here but at the same time it makes happy cause I know how they feel about the loc community and there's some happiness you feel when you see someone with locs... haha! I definitely had to sacrifice the styling I used to do my hair cause it just reminded me of the past life that I really wanted to let go.. when I started my locs I was going through major depression and the more they started to grow the more I started to find myself and heal.. funny thing is when I meet up someone with locs whether it be a lady or a man we instantly connect and share our reasons to why we started the journey.. I Low-key wish the whole world would have locs LOL.. definitely would solve all the problems in the world..🤣🤣🤣.

The loc journey is a different vibe yall... everytime I passby someone with locs we always have that look in our eyes that says I see you brother the loc journey be hard for us out here but at the same time it makes happy cause I know how they feel about the loc community and there's some happiness you feel when you see someone with locs... haha! It makes me giddy like a child when see someone with locs.. this journey is somewhat spiritual and I been discovering myself because of my hair.. crazy how something like hair makes you discover yourself...dang I didn't know I had saw much to write 😅

I definitely had to sacrifice the styling I used to do my hair cause it just reminded me of the past life that I really wanted to let go.. when I started my locs I was going through major depression and the more they started to grow the more I started to find myself and heal.. funny thing is when I meet up someone with locs whether it be a lady or a man we instantly connect and share our reasons to why we started the journey.. I Low-key wish the whole world would have locs LOL.. definitely would solve all the problems in the world..🤣🤣🤣.
I only get bad comments from people who don’t even have locs lol or bald head people 🤣🤣 I just delete them comments now bc it was annoying to me
