My mom had to have a single mastectomy due to breast cancer and the body dysmorphia she feels because of it (she had to have reconstructive surgery which is NEVER 100% symmetrical to the natural breast) just makes this all feel so disrespectful. These people are so gross. Get therapy and learn to love yourself because voluntarily chopping off a single boob is a crappy thing to even want to do.
My mother had a similar experience, she had both breasts removed but the reconstruction of one failed repeatedly while the other succeeded. I remember the extensive bruising, the deep scars, the horrible pain she experienced after her surgery. It is disrespectful to make a mockery of that.
I makes me sick thinking about all these kids and young adults that are suffering right now or will suffer because get manipulated into thinking that there trans then they are not and maybe them do a mastectomy. I am glad your mom is doing well may she live a long healthy life❤

You're not deformed, you just bear the scars of having lived. I'm 72 years old and I can tell you that none of us, if we live long enough, gets through life unscathed! I think others probably accept you just the way you are more than you realize. I guess the trick is to learn to accept yourself, inescapable flaws and all. It's even more than just being a part of speech - a pronoun is meant to be a sort of shortcut to make communication easier - a quick-and-easy stand-in for a proper noun that will be quicker and easier to say, especially when you don't know the proper name for it. If every individual human being has a unique "neo-pronoun" - especially ones that are impossible to know or say without consulting a directory and instruction manual first - they might as well be individual names, a concept that has already existed since pre-history, no "neo-" anything required.

Im a medical provider and i get referrals by biological name because thats the name on the insurance card and the name we have to submit for insurance claims and OMG the anger these folks display when you first meet them or talk to them on the phone is unimaginable when called by their name or the corresponding pronoun. Im so over it. People have left the practice because of being called by their birth name and gender. 😢 We dont even get a chance to know their preferences.

And what criteria would need to be met in order to detain someone in the first place. Sure if someone is acting erratic, biting people then they should be detained but as for the "I want to look like Two-Face from Batman", how is that a mental disorder especially when you have people getting full body tattoos (even though many regret facial tattoos).
Yup. I work in healthcare as well as a receptionist at a doctor’s office. At least in the US, we *legally* have to have their *legal* name in the chart for billing purposes, as well as Social Security reasons. If you lose your social security card, you have to provide proof that it’s you *through medical records,* and most Social Security offices tell people to go to their primary care doctor’s office to get the proof the government needs so they can get a new one.
If the person hasn’t changed their legal name, we cannot change it in the chart. Yes, we can put a nickname, but the legal name will still show up everywhere.
These facts still don’t stop these people from getting offended, unfortunately. Even if you explain it to them, they still get mad. It’s ridiculous. Change your legal name if you are gonna get so damn mad!
Before I fully medically and legally transitioned I would deal with this all the time. I am a male to female transsexual. Thankfully my voice was so passing that the insurance people would always ask “Miss is this person your husband?” 😂 but I never ever ever said anything nasty or negative when they called me, and when I called THEM I would actually try to DEEPEN my voice and give them my old legal name just to make their job more simple. That is the difference between and actual TS and a modern day woke TG. The amount of times I’ve told myself “just deal with it this person is unaware you are trans” is insane and I’ve never once freaked out and claimed misgendering. These people are nuts! Lol !

Also, the reason why black people are more based, is actually a blessing to a curse: It's that mental health still rarely gets discussed in non-white communities. A lot of them see psychology as a 'white thing'. I'm actually autistic without an intellectual disability. I have moved around, and went to special needs schools across my country, been to disabled meetings across the country, etc. It's rare to spot a POC there. I have Roma heritage- look partially Indian and I was the token POC kid at one of my schools. It's that white.

Probably said it was a “ service dog” and people are not supposed to question it. I had a real service dog and people like this abuse it by bringing in their Pets. This “law” supposedly is going to tighten up with people having to present documents now when asked as proof. And not just buying a “ service dog” patch or vest off of EBay.
You're allowed to take service animals into restaurants, and they can't ask you about the animal in that context because of anti discrimination laws, or refuse you access if you require the dog for health reasons, so a lot of people pretend their pet is a service animal and there's nothing anyone can do to stop them. They just say it's a service animal and that's legally the end of the conversation unless the business wants to be sued. It's pretty stupid.

You are correct. I am transgender and I was dysphoric about every part of me because I didn’t want anyone to look at me and say I was a guy. My voice was the one thing that was the worst for me. I wanted to just blend into society and no one even know I was transgender or that I use to be a man. This past year I finally have blended in. Unless I say anything everyone sees me as a female. It gives me a self love for myself. I am having surgery this next week, and it’s not for everyone, but I do feel that if you are transgender, and you want people to properly gender you then you should do everything to be that gender. Even working on being a little higher pitch to your voice. Changing gender is a process, it takes time and effort to complete, and when someone does misgender, just politely say, “Sorry, I go by she/her/hers.” No reasons to call anyone out, that only causes issues.

When you study morphology you learn that pronouns are a closed class of speech, meaning that, alongside conjunctions and prepositions, it can't acquire new words (e.g., you can create new nouns by adding affixes). Then these people came along and they've apparently decided that you can do anything, even add words you're not supposed to be able to pronounce. I know that language changes but a. Change is never actively imposed (funnily enough that's what Mussolini tried to do when he tried to erase all Italian words that were borrowed from English. You know, fascism, their favourite word) and b. Prepositions, conjunctions, pronouns, they're all a closed class of speech because they help us zero in on what we need to say, with no ambiguities (or at least, not a lot of them). A pronoun is not supposed to describe you as a person or as an EnTiTy, it shouldn't define your inner world, it's not its function in speech. It is just supposed to help everyone involved envision the subject or the object of what's being said in speech form. It shouldn't be this fucking deep. This is embarrassing.

No person will ever be wholly described by language alone, our inner worlds are infinite. Some of us have accepted it, and try to somewhat work around the issue. I really do agree with you on everything and I'm a person that remembers "LGB" but now the youth are wanting to be in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
People can wish to be victims because people are capable of wishing for anything.

Keeping a balance of empathy and logic seems to be a challenge. The synicism that is sweeping through the public is the result of highjackers, not people living their lives honestly.
One thing that keeps coming back to me, no matter the subject, is that keeping these topics, these communities from being taken off the rails requires work from within.
Those of us who are humanists, who do want to be a neighbor and a friend to every sincere individual, can only do so much. Whether it's religion, law enforcement, politics or societal groups, the members of these groups have the hard task of doing the heavy lifting.
Hopefully more continue to come out to do just that. They (you) will find many of us here, ready to help you make sense of everything and find your worth. I promise it's true.
I’ve been saying this too. Unfortunately it’s the real ts community that has to speak and denounce these people. As a straight person I can certainly be an ally but I can’t speak for the true trans community. They’ve fought so many battles already and to have others highjack and set all the progress they’ve made back to the dark ages again is so sad to me.

Anyway the biggest red flag for me on both interactions is that they aren't uncomfortable or offended or hurt or scared like a person facing genuine bigotry will be, they're _giddy._ Ooh they're SO excited, ready with that phone, thinking okay now how do I keep them talking for the TikTok? This is simply not how people who are hated and marginalized behave. This is the behavior of a highly, highly privileged person. I said that the sudden uptick in trans identification was due to the anxiety brought about by the pandemic. It's like the episode of House M.D. when someone on a plane got sick. At first, House thought it was meningitis. Everyone on board started to exhibit symptoms of that disease. We had the biggest anxiety-producing event since the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic when this trans-identifying phenomenon occurred. The fact that we haven't recognized the widespread incidence of conversion disorder in history since the witch scare of the 17th century is evidence we are living under the governance of idiots.
I don’t think it’s quite conversion disorder, I think it’s more when a certain disorder dominates through time due to society’s impact. Have you noticed how people generally don’t cut/self harm as much now compared to the early 2000s? Same with anorexia nervosa. It’s not that said disorders don’t exist at other points in time, just that it becomes the ‘trendy’ disorder.
