Jaby, most of these scenes are from decades ago, more than 20 years old, so we never really bothered about the effects, vfx or even their over the top acting. We used to have legit fun watching these 😂😂

That car spinning one… It was my mom’s favourite soap. Every night we had dinner watching that on the TV.
Target Audience is mostly housewives and/or women in rural area who are not privy to OTT or Internet that easily. This is like enthralling for them.
Additionally most families in India cannot watch OTT/ western content seating together for obvious reasons so it's a fun time for them.

@@rakshitsingh40 I haven’t recharged our DTH for 2 years now. And even before that we had a deal at home, only one serial per day, jo dekhna hai dekho, but don’t damage your brain for more than 30 mins. 😂

Cid is our childhood (yeah we say that about almost every other movie or show 🙄) but it really is.. The show ran for almost two decades.. So we have grown up seeing this and gave seen the actors and characters grow up (literally🙈)
And about itv yes moms and aunties do take it seriously.. The crazy stuff that becomes a meme is not the whole story after all.. The tracks are stupid but they all revolve around female lead facing every damn problem possible in life and tackling it plus a major portion of young generation also watch it, mainly for the chemistry of leads
My mom was once the casting and assistant director for CID she left it long back but she still continues to recieve calls to this day lmfaoo

@@HumourusLAV naw she was on board only for like 2 or 3 years.She had to leave cus of me cus I was just REALLY small. At around the same time she did cast a few of the cast for other shows under the same production house like Aahat , Chidiya Ghar and others, but that was it. This was in 2004 ig. Now she’s not doing anything professionally. But she does some really good volunteering for an NGO and mental health campaigns. She’s also into narration and other social work and I go along with her too sometimes. 👍
There was a point when our parents used to shout us for watching CID but we would still watch that😂😂
10:05 Most of this tv shows/soap operas are from early 2000s-2010s and yes Indians, esp Indian aunties used to take all those scenes seriously. 16:47 Most Indian house moms feel like yes we go throw the same and being a woman/a wife you have to do what your husbands asks you to do. They are invested in all that drama. They actually watched and followed those soap operas religiously. Such tv shows were a big hit on Indian tv.
I think Achara would be a better person to watch this with. Steph is not as well informed as Achara on inside jokes on Indian people & culture. So Jaby & Achara are gonna have more fun. Also Achara gets almost all the jokes, she's very smart
But when will steph learn all the inside jokes only if achara keep reacting on such, it's not like achara knew all these beforehand she also learnt it while watching for first time, so can you all stop with achara this achara that, i love her too but it must be so annoying for jaby and achara both,also for Steph let them be i guess?
