There are also more updates on the engineering disaster salvage operation of the MV Dali ship striking the Francis Scott Key Bridge causing the bridge collapse in Baltimore, Md. on the Patapsco River. The video also shows how salvors installed the detonators for using precision-cut demolition explosives to break apart the bridge truss and force it to slide off the MV Dali in pieces.
You'll also see the incredible cranes cutting off and removing large sections of existing bridge truss metal from the now re-closed channel. They closed this limited access channel on April 29, 2024, after the first ships to pass through the new limited access channel, a deepwater 300 ft wide, and a 35-foot deep access channel for larger ships, the first time since the MV Dali collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, MD on March 26, 2024. You'll see progress so far in this Baltimore bridge collapse. - Хобби

4K is 4x resolution, not 2x. I lost count of how many times you made that mistake.
Thanks for the GREAT recap of the bridge demo!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank all of you! This is a real life Thriller Movie! Good job to all! I can't stop watching this until it is finally finished! Everyone is doing a superior job reporting, and camera's and all! Just Wow! Thank you all, and God Bless you all!
Thanks Cristine
Still to much weight on the bow
That was impressive! I hope that all of the Dali crew members stay safe.
Geeezzzz. Even the splash of that truss rolling off the Dali was huge!
Much much bigger than that caused by the entire bridge falling and also falling with its huge water-displacing roadway. Another anomaly! CONSPIRA site 67-part series
Great views and great explanations!
Thank you Jeff!
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent work jeff.
Thank you for compiling all these superb views.
As always Jeff, a great compilation and overview of the current status. Your videos include many images other media do not include. Keep up the great work!
Unlike many many other commentaries on disasters, I enjoyed your presentation, even with the slow motion and duplicity of shots and angles. Your calm and for the most part articulate phrasing made it a delight @ 10+ minutes.
Thank you for not "looping" everything into eternity ... 😵💫
😉👌
Thank you Jeff, for the updated & explaining why Dali is still nose down at the front cheers 👍👊
Thanks for explaining! Very exciting yesterday on MM too! ❤
FANTASTIC 4k !!!!! I expected the Dali to lift up 20 feet and sail away!!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!
Awesome, thank you so very much!
You're very welcome!
Jeff, I appreciate the time that it takes to produce each of these. I try and run one of your videos every chance I get, if nothing else but to see if I can pick up some tip to keep in the old”tool bag”. I’ve been a welder and fabricator for over 25 years now and I am always looking for an edge. At 53, us older guys need every bit of help that we can get 🤣😂. Much love from NC, and keep up the good work 🤙🤙
I appreciate that!
I discovered Noticias Telemundo just before the blast and they had great video coverage. I was surprised how much drone coverage they had just before the blast and the drone coverage of workers on the deck right after the blast
Excellent coverage and explanation
A great synopsis of this major event. Thank you very much for your time and efforts. 😅.Greg 😊.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your work.
My pleasure!
AWESOME post......thanks for sharing ! 🤔🤔🤔
Thanx Jeff for the Key Bridge update. I watched the Double decker cabinet kitchen. I thought you guys did an excellent job!!! Seeing the end result, one can tell that precision in all aspects of the job pays off!!!
Excellent video!
4K is 4 times the resolution. It’s double in both directions. Early 4K signals were just 4 1080P signals grouped together. :)
You can see a clear view of the water curtain they installed to prevent a fire in those crushed containers they were concerned about.
As we say down here - "that's not a bridge blast - THIS is a bridge blast!" Yep, looks like part was stuck under something on the Dali's bow, obviously heavily ballasted. Curious what was in the hazardous containers, probably best not to spread it around the bay.
Shame I missed the stream, it was 1000 here. Thanks again from Australia Jeff, your updates are the best. _Doing some floating floor (laminate) later today!_
Quality video..!!! Why aren't they back out there with the claw removing beams today?? or are they but no video has been rerecorded..
The lack of 4k broadcasts by the television industry as a whole is pitiful
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ after a sun based solar flare filament fries Earth electronics you will be lucky to get a hand drawing of future events delivered by pony express
They will never move the Dali with all that concrete roadway on her bow and one of the bridge supports. It will have to be reduced first.
Unified Command said yesterday they will move it
@@jeffostroff UC may be wishing they could move it. Just read an article on the FIU bridge today. A lot of bad decisions. FIU was actually overseeing the project, so in fact it does bare much of the responsibility for the poor design.. Back to the Dali maybe they will back it away, but keep it out in the harbor somewhere while they clear the bow deck.
Trying to manage moving the ship with all that clutter on the bow seems to be a very poor idea.
@jeffostroff I can't see them messing up a harbor/dock with all that roadway debris.
@ginog5037 better to clean the dock than the channel. The channel must open asap.
Just goes to show how all of us can have different views on how to proceed. That's why any command of any tragedy is one of the toughest jobs. Judgement by everyone
Bridge truss is cut off at water level on the starboard side of the boat, look carefully
Thanks for the Coverage. Wanted to send an email, but no listing on your home page...
No Dali content on their Generator Control units or Circuit protections design.
Video Content on Anchor Chain Physics might be interesting. ..
I would like to see more Oceangate content. You've had some good coverage.
Still waiting for USCG investigations
I hope none of the crew have PTSD from the initial accident. I guess that goes for anyone watching. Anyways, it was interesting to hear what it sounds like when such a heavy, large and strong structure fails. I have been thinking about this since the original reports from people hearing it collapse all around the city and feeling either the pressure waves shaking everything or the ground shaking if they were close enough. There was so, so, so much mass bending, shaking, and breaking as well as energy that needed to be released, absorbed and dissipated. I think, but I'm not sure, that the water makes the sound carry really well. The loudness of the explosion was probably the limiting factor for the exclusion zone. Being on the water is probably the most intense place to hear an explosion because there nothing but an unobstructed path directly to whoever is watching on the water. The explosion kind of made the collapse afterwards seem less loud than it really was, but it was incredibly loud as well.
so i will say, i whole heartily believe the animation that was released was to give an example of what precision cutting with the shape charges is and not a simulation of what the actual plan is. one biggest thing for that is that the locations the truss breaks up do not match up with where the charges detonate from and also many sections do not behave normally when gravity is the main force being applied.
however i think one of the shape charges didn't fully cut a member (which had little impact on the full thing though). the section at 0:58 that is covered by the left side of the '0', when detonated it remained standing straight before it was hit (seen at 1:02 as the tallest part still standing) and brought down by the part that was directly on the doli.
You can clearly see the charge in the detonation cord moving forward from the stern if you freeze frame step the video just before the explosion in most of the camera shots.
Been following your coverage exclusively. Now that the channel is opening up and we obtain a clearer view, have those power lines always been there or are they a recent addition?
Does it look like smoke or water was being sprayed before the blast? Awesome coverage once again Jeff. Thank you!
Interestingly now, once MV DALI is finished and released I hear she is headed to NORFOLK for evaluation and possible patch work.
Would not be surprised, in future, to see her back here renamed and reflagged. 😮
I suspect she could be scrapped.
Cool video, that’s a whole lot of weight to move
Please correct me if I am wrong but having done a little work with shaped charges, I noticed that several of the main connection points on the truss were highlighted and overpainted exactly as one would identify the location of explosive sites. Some of these sites on the lower part of the truss appeared to fail to detonate. Was it a fuse failure or a command wire disconnection, or are we just bluffing so that it appears that everything is going as it should??????????
The explosion was how I imagined it the ship not going up was very obvious shows how deep its probably buried and we've not seen the sonar images of the full dali yet
Thanks Jeff. I forgot about the ballast but still would have expected some movement from the Dali.
Jeff……what would those guys placing the explosives be called and what kind of hourly pay would they get?
Thanks for all your coverage!! Watch you ALL the time...are you from Chicago??? We recognize your accent.
Boston originally
Following the explosion I expected the remaining truss section to fall further into the water than it did. What is holding this section up out of the water?
Think of the ride that Mr Kayak would be had if he would have been there when the controlled demolition happened 😂😂😂
It looks like the plan was to remove as much steel weight as possiblle pressing directly down on the ship while avoiding the possibilty of jamming anything else against the outer hull from outside.
I saw some ducks that should have walked. On a serious point---Will the mud have much suction since it has a lot of bottom touching the mud.
Key Bridge
Fantastic videos! BTW 4k is actually 4 times the resolution of HD.
yes it is, but the horizontal and vertical resolution is only double, but the total pixels is 4x
@@jeffostroff You got me. Lol. That'll teach me to shorten my reply. I was going to mention pixel count. Anyway, thanks for your videos
I suspect they may keep it ballasted forward to maintain the current trim and first take off the roadway before trying to refloat. We will see if the use the "Claw" on the Dali to take off the roadway.
I agree as much of the roadway as possible should be removed from the foredeck before moving it. This is the first I've heard that the bow compartment was deliberately flooded.
Theres still a huge girder pinning the SB bow down to the concrete base. This thing is bent over and embedded into the hull.
You can see it at 7:40 in between the square concrete pillar and the bright A frame girder. It has rivets on it.
That is cool. Any whispers as to when they will explain what happened with the ship loosing control?
I am working on a prelim report from NTSB right now!
Ntsb preliminary report just released. No definitive answer although focus is on electrical system. I read the report and I suspect there was an issue with a transformer causing breakers to trip repeatedly. It does not sound like operator error although most media are focusing on fact that ship had power outages before departing. These ships have redundant systems, and it seems the crew had decided to switch parts of the electrical system to alternates that hadn't been used in months. It's like having 2 mowers in you shed, and you use the green one for 4 weeks then decide you better give the orange one some use. Unfortunately there is no test protocol that 100% guarantees an electromechanical device will continue to perform as expected. Point to a light bulb in your room and tell me how many months it has before it burns out.
Hi Feff- I am Jayatissa from Sri Lanka. I hv been following FSK bridge collapse videos from the beginning. I like to get clarification as to how that 29ft giant claw ( Gus) moved to bridge site.
Those explosions look like the explosions some videos were showing of the initial bridge collapse. 🤔
Good work collecting at the 4K video.. I think they ought to clear as much debris as possible off the bow deck before moving the ship over to the warf. They seem to be rushing the project a bit too much creating extra work in the long term.
I was watching on RUclips, micro mullet channel, and I was very disturbed that RUclips decided to cut to a commercial at one hiccup before detonation!! totally destroyed my anticipation of the moment to come. That’s all I have to say.😮
Yes, I saw that too! I think it was because they ran the ads on the hour
You need Revanced. No interruptions.
It looked like a lower beam stayed on the deck, although it was bent down
Thanks for the videos. The lean of the ship in nautical terms is called trim, the lateral lean is called list.
Good point. The ship is out of trim, and too high in the stern.
Jeff, you have much better coverage than the msm clowns that all missed the countdown 👏
Is there any footage of them cutting the concrete pillar off the ship?
Do you think they’re gonna ban truss bridges now?
Take a look around 6:40 of what's left of the bridge on the starboard side still in the water. The truss was cut off at the water level. But all the rest is still there sitting on the bottom. To remove that will be far more difficult. I assume that's not the channel side.
Is someone documenting the removal of debris after the controlled detonation of the bridge? I was hoping someone would document the removal of debris prior to refloating and removing that Dali from the Channel.
I had heard that the truss and road debris was holding the bow down.🤔
Isn’t 4K four times 1K or 1080? I was surprised to hear you say “twice” the definition of 1080.
4x the pixels but only 2x the horizontal or vertical resolution
Objective was met. Trusses rolled over off the ship.Ship is off the extra load Those expecting a new Mona Lisa should rest now
He had over 30.000 viewers at times.
this is just a warning . Next time , don't touch my bridge ?
Imagine back in WW2 when bridges were blown wholesale. Like over the Rhine in Germany.
That was so violent, but the ship didn't seem to even twitch. That's some quality work for sure. The bridge parts slightly moved some of the containers, but didn't see any damage to them. I tried to watch it live, but the dumb stuff people were posting in the chat made me so sad...
I would have thought the bow of the ship would have raised up
It was ballasted with water.
I can’t see any movement of the ship when the bridge blew off.
Great footage! Technically, 4K is four times the resolution of standard HD, not double, as the narrator said a couple of times.
Technically the narrator is correct. Normally resolution is vertical pixels and 4k is double than 1080p in the vertical row.
If you want to get really technical, do the research and refer back to us
It’s almost as if they expected it to slide into the water, instead it rolled
They had to make a last minute change in cuts and they felt that some of them were too close to some hazardous containers right next door which were containing flammable items so they couldn't quite get the entire thing to shear off as they originally planned
@@jeffostroff i still dont think there was any actual plan to have pieces of the bridge to slide off. the animation does not the cutting charges at the locations of the cuts or do the pieces behave normally under regular gravity, like some pieces that are shown to 'slide' off just gain horizonal momentum with no real explanation for the force.
Update 21 release on may 8th only really made mention of cutting the truss into smaller pieces with the shape charges for the cranes to remove.
It feels impossible to grasp the scale of what we're seeing, even though we can literally see the scale by the relative size of the containers etc.
The ship's bow didn't budge one bit. It's either stuck in the mud or lost buoyancy to flooding.
Been deliberately flooded to ballast the bow section.
Sal at "What is going on with Shipping" channel reports on the preliminary NTSB report. He also reported that the bow of the ship has been ballasted down to rest firmly on the bottom to prevent it from shifting when the bridge is blown
Why Did Dali Lose Power in Baltimore? | NTSB Releases Preliminary Report
ruclips.net/video/CWGaLFhoRDM/видео.html
Short form, the automation to switch to alternates when active power shorted out all worked. So apparently (to me) the problem was not in the engine room.
Great views!!
The news channels coverage was pretty lackadaisical. They were about as enthused to be reporting as a man going to his execution.
Glad you got to see it here!
I'm nitpicking here, but 4K is four times 2K/1080p because both the horizontal and vertical resolutions are doubled (i.e. 2x2=4).
1080P seems like 1K to me.
Resolution is for the vertical pixels
Your nitpicking is incorrect.
Jeff is correct
@@JoeLinux2000Nearly 2K. 1920 pixels wide.
The bow of the ship didn’t rise after the explosion.
The ship is grounded they will have to unload more containers...
4k is 4x the resolution of HD, not 2x.
But the horizontal and vertical pixels are double!
@@jeffostroff2×2=4
*salvors, not ‘salvagers’, would be the correct english term
Good point. Democrat Party is also far more appropriate than "democratic" party, for certain very obvious reasons.
4k is 4 times 1080p. 1440p is 2 times 1080p
There is still alot of steel, concrete and a shalt on the bow.
slow the play back speed to .025 LOL
Thanks for keeping us updated and using common sense engineering to explain it all. The conspiracy theorists running around like chickens with their heads cut off are beyond being able to be reasoned with.🙄
Watch the 3 birds heading towards the bridge right before it blows
What happened to all that "bipartisan infrastructure bill" money?
This will make an awful movie but “they” will make it….😢
Another anomaly is that we can in this video hear the sound of the girders collapsing, but in the eyewitness night video shot by those two teens trespassing at Fort Armistead natl park, not a single sound is heard, nor a single wave is seen from the splash-down that is in fact smaller that caused by this comparatively tiny few girders. So many anomalies. CONSPIRA 67-part series delves into those and plenty more.
How much USA dollars will all of this crap cost, other than?
I assume they had some cut charges left over from the night they took it down. It is clear that they used explosives to take it down. You seem to ignore the many explosions that occurred that night.
So funny the horn blast here, but when ship was missiling in to explode the pillar, nada, nothing, total silence, no warning horn at all. LOL. Almost like it was planned. CONSPIRA site has 67 part series delving into the many anomalies.
If you make a simple list of EV vs ICE advantages, you would never buy an EV.
How many times do you want to show the blast..... Move on please

That was a terrorist attack, please tell the truth about why the bridge collapsed.
