It is exactly like that. She has done so much for Eric and for the family in this marriage and Eric never appreciated it. It wasn't until the very end, when she was terminally ill, that he realized how much she meant to him. There were many lost years. She could have lived a better life with Massimo, for example. Eric has cheated and lied to her so many times and everyone just complains that she wasn't a good wife for him. With a husband like that, no woman has to play a loving wife just to please him.

Yeah, as great as Susan Flannery is from an acting standpoint, I have a really hard time actually liking or sympathizing with the character. A lot of Stephanie's scenes come across as simply to showboat Flannery's acting skills. But the character comes across as a very manipulative busybody.

It's actually ridiculous funny to hear Eric say they gave nothing left to share. He just doesn't want to admit, that he is the problem and not stephanie. They have a lot to share. And in the next years until Stephanie's death he will run and turn always to her for advice, help, support and love. Liked he sad before she died. He let himself forget sometimes how much she met to him and what they had together. Such a damn disgusting fool. Eric is still the disgusting chaser and cheater.

I think, sadly, that he does not have much more to share with Stephanie, although he may be the cause of much of the problem himself. Stephanie has done so much meddling behind his back. He is generally a collected and well-tempered man, and while she is in an unfounded fury about something, he is unfazed. Reality is that he is biased about the Logans due to his constant affection towards Beth, who is also slow to anger. Stephanie is always in the business of scandal and looks the part too with gowns is always dressed up like a professional meddler extraordinaire. As I've mentioned before, in my.opinion, Eric and Stephanie have a partnership. The business is family and family is their business. This is their strength - as partners. Whatever threatens business will draw them into action. There is no partnership in the bedroom and no equity in the emotional bank. There is money in the bank and 5 children who they both love unconditionally.... except when Eric learned that Thorne shot Ridge and when Ridge boinked his step-mother.
Its takes two to make a marriage.. If Stephanie wanted hers to work then invest it...but your all over the place meddling in everyone one else own....Run Eric Run

I find it ironic that so many people claim Eric cheated on Stephanie even though when he was seeing Beth he was separated (living in another home) and divorce proceedings were almost finalized; yet these same hypocrites are okay with Caroline getting engaged to Ridge when she is still married to Thorne. Oh yeah, and she actually cheated on Thorne and didn't even have the guts to admit it -- Eric didn't even sleep with Beth as far as we know.
While I don't think Beth and Eric have much chemistry, I also don't get why people want Eric with Stephanie either. The way Eric looked at Stephanie in this episode was with such disdain and contempt to the point he doesn't even seem like can stand her.

Eric stayed with Stephanie because of Angela (Who turned out to be an imposter!) & Thorne's problems with Caroline & Ridge leading up to the shooting. Also, nobody asked where Storm Logan was? Well Brian Patrick Clarke will take over the role of Storm Logan. He played Grant on GH! One of the scenes with Brian will be a confrontation with Ridge on how he played his sister Brooke. Don't know what episode it is, but look for it! Storm was not fond of Ridge at all & he was right about him! "Ridge Never Loved His Sister Brooke!" "THE BUCK STOPS HERE!!" (He says that to Ridge!) Storm looked out for his sisters & family when his father abandoned the family.

Thank you for uploading these unparalleled years of drama. To weigh in (everyone on this show is great) ... For those who say Beth is experiencing karma - I am sorry, but Eric was Beth's first love, years ago in college who had her relationship broken up by Stephanie who used a pregnancy (believed to be Eric's) to come between them! Beth and Eric couldn't help how they felt years and years later. I love how Stephanie will give a laundry list of everyone's crimes to themselves, but honestly if her glass house was the recipient of a proverbial stone attack her self-righteous body would be covered in rubble first before any of the glass frame could hit the ground, lol

Knowing this history is exactly why I was glad they had the show reverse Ridge's paternity, and I think if it didn't immediately lead into that nonsense relationship with Bridget, it could've been one of the best decisions of the 2000s.
Wow…Stephanie was scary staring in that window. Granted she saw Eric kissing Beth but she had ample opportunity to make things right in her marriage and just never saw any passion or renewal in their marriage at all. Beth is not the problem. If not Beth, there would be someone else as there was oftentimes in this marriage. When all was said and done, they were at best dear friends or maybe more like brother/sister relationship. No romance that I can ever recall other than a few random times which seemed quite stiff.
You're right. The times they did share an on-screen kiss, it looked forced and contrived.
They were never in sync when it came to intimacy. But they had a lasting friendship which at times bordered on abusive. Stephanie thought she owned him.

This would have been in the mid to late 50's or no later than early 60's. Back then, if a lady from a rich family got pregnant, she usually married the father to keep from embarrassing the family. I think Beth may have been his true love and he married Stephanie out of obligation. He may have grown to love Stephanie, but not the way a husband is supposed to love his wife.

Beth always tries to come across so innocent or like she's some victim. Stephanie spoke true words about why Brooke was a manipulative woman. I loved the character of Stephanie and still do. I loved her as a young teen watching when it aired and again today when I'm mid-40's.
Brooke is like Stephanie and what she is doing to Beth is p4oject herself. Stephanie tricked Eric when they were young to be with her and to leave Beth, he always wanted to be with Beth and Stephanie can't take it.
Eric didn't want the relationship to work he was just to weak to leave without having an exit plan aka a woman. I wish Stephanie would have just left his punk a** because he obviously doesn't want the marriage and she deserved better.

He didn't have a woman waiting so he went back to Stephanie making her think they were going to work at their marriage.
