Just found this channel and brings back memories 👍 we once had to change out a worn out spherical bearing on a radius arm. Got it in the power press and I was watching the dial heading round to 100 tons with creaks and groans , I remember saying, this is getting sketchy , when no one answered I turned around and my mates had retreated to the other side of the workshop ! Comments like.. don't worry we've got EMS on speed dial and can I have your record collection ! Spring to mind 🤣 hit the side with a 10 pound hammer and it popped then slid out beautifully. I do miss the big boys toys.
Hola qué tal me pareció muy bueno tu video me dedico a las muelles y suspensiones en Mexico me interesaría saber donde puedo conseguir el gato hidráulico que utilizaste, Gracias espero tu respuesta
The front axle leaf spring bushings on the new Cascadia (2018+) need a special adhesive/grease when installing them. It’s essentially a press grease/adhesive to keep the bushing in place after pressing them in. Look for Perma-Bond HM-160 or Loctite RC-609 adhesive. I bought the Loctite online.
I enjoy your videos. I like your jig to remove and install your bushings. I was curious what type of air cylinder you use on your jig? I really want to make one. Thanks again.
Hey Guys , I'm sorry to ask but I just bought one on Amazon, OTC 4245, and I'm having problems because the width between the bolt is 5 inches and don't fit so easy like your when I have to leaf like this video, can you tell me the width in your between the bolts please.
How did you get your press to go around the “eye “ of the ear spring ?? We have the otc one I think 4255?? It fits over the eye of a leaf spring on the 2017 and older ones but the second we try the new cascadias it won’t slip over the front of the spring. Is it a different press??
@@monkkeye nah that’s fine the problem we’re having is the two rods on the outside don’t clear the eye of the leaf spring We had a machine shop make us a plate with a 1/2” on both sides to make it wider
Great video! Do you lift it up with the forklift or with the air bags? I use a 22 ton bottle jack in-between the spring and chasis. Lift it for the clearance, torch out the metal casing and hammer it in with the same size diameter steel tube.
Doesn’t matter which direction they go in from. Just the next guy that has to change them will be pissed that they have to do what he’s doing from underneath the truck!
If you don’t use the adapter you will push the inner section of bushing out of the outer sleeve and your new bushing will be in two pieces. Ask me how I know.
The shorter adapter is for installing the bushing from the opposite side. Longer adapter for pushing them out. We sometimes remove driveshaft to clear the ram on the tool, but sometimes can start them from the inside enough with a hammer to clear the driveshaft. I work at at a Freightliner dealership and do a lot of those bushings and they would say you installed them backwards. I’m gunna look in the tech lit on Monday, maybe We’ve ust been doing it the hard way
You should frame that CP air gun when it reaches retirement.. With a brass plate that reads "They asked if I wanted some penetrating oil, and I told them.. Just show me the job man"
@@SemiWorkin in Romania for that job you would pay around 700 euros for them all plus 200 the alignment. But the money value is completely different here over the states.

Hola , gracias por tus videos , he aprendido mucho , saludos , un abrazo. Desde La Calera CHILE.
Very informative video, thank you sir!!!
Awesome vid. WHERE CAN I FIND THIS TOOL!!
You put them in backwards
That’s exactly what he did
Good job simple and easy

Great video. How in the hell did you just roll the tires forward to get the bolt holes to line back up
What is the name of that tool you're using

Can you post the part number of the tool that you are using to remove the bushings?
Can i use a big size socket to take them bushings out. If i don't have the machine. Could i messed them up that way.
Solo buena esa erramienta
can you use the same tool for the steer axle bushings?
How did u move the drive axle to align leaf spring to the mount?
Where can I get that press setup?? I’ve been having to take the spring assembly out of the truck completely and walk it over to a stationary press.
I know its not recommended to just replace 1 bushings but I only want to replace the bad one. Do you think it will hurt the alignment?
Great video's!!!
Do you need to do alignment on the truck after you change all 4
Do you use grease or anti seize on the new bushings shell when pressing it in?

Is that a push master welded on a plate with two U-bolt rods?
WHAT PART NUMBER OF OTC TOOL ARE YOU USING TO DO THOSE DOUBLE WRAPPED SPRING BUSHINGS THOSE PLATES ARE WIDER THAN THE OTC 4244
Thanks for watching!! Had these plates made at a machine shop.
Where can I buy that tool from
is there an alignment the bushings go back in? or did you just eyeball the camber of the bushing?
Chicago-Pneimatic 734H....???
I wish I could get mine to hit as hard as yours.
Хорошая работа

i need to change all the bushings on my truck, where is your shop located
Donde pusiste el stand en qué parte del camión ?yo trabajo en California saludos
When you were lowering the frame I saw you moving the drive axle to line up with the bushings, how were you doing this?
I’m assuming bottle jack under the axle to lower and lift
What’s the pressed called so I can get one

Thanks for watching!! I lift it with pneumatic bottle jacks on the frame rail. That’s how we did it before we got the press.
If you take a torch to a spring the spring will be junk.
it looks like he's putting in the bushings backwards
Doesn’t matter which direction they go in from. Just the next guy that has to change them will be pissed that they have to do what he’s doing from underneath the truck!
I was thinking the same thing. The tool is gonna be harder to use while under the truck based on how they were placed in
Where's the shop located?
What condition existed that lead you to replace the bushings?
Thanks for watching!! The rubber inside the bushings were worn causing the alignment to be out and creating tire wear.
Did this left and right on Peterbilts 579's gasoline haulers drove them like they were stolen trucks.
Por que tanto sal nestes caminhão? Que tipo de trabalho eles estão fazendo?
what do you use as an adapter .. is my question
