Who would Cardinal Vincent Nichols agree with? You two or Justin Wellby? You do know the far-right is a hate ideology and hatred has no place in Christianity. Justin Wellby has a duty to God to warn Christians not to have anything to do with far-right groups. Cardinal Nichols and other church leaders should do the same. God bless and support Justin Welby and may all true Christians renounce Satan and his evil show.
Btw, as Catholics you must know that Mary told the three children at Fatima that Catholics must pray the rosary against some evil not yet disclosed. My opinion: I think you two are on dangerous group. John 8:44 KJV

@@56247 True, I don't know what I'm expecting really, given how Welby has acted during his time as Archbishop. It's sad, a number of years ago, just before he became Archbishop, I heard one of his friends speak about his faith at a conference. I came away impressed and encouraged that a man of seemingly vibrant faith was taking the reigns. But it didn't take long to realise that if there was a true life in Christ there, then maybe the cares, worries, (and ideologies) of this world were choking it.

God himself created races so like people could recognise and dwell together. He commanded us to be separate nations and confused our languages at babel to ensure this. The reason he gave was to limit the progress of evil. Look at modern multicultural societies - they lack identity and vice thrives. Not that the groups who have arrived are solely responsible for that but it enables the wicked in power to dominate completely due to the absence of any social cohesion - and thus evil progresses.

And don't forget that Samaritans followed the same faith as Jews! They did NOT seek to overthrow Yahweh's Laws and set up their own legal system from their own "prophet" and turn Israel into a Theocratic Caliphate!

@@patricka.crawley6572 Do remember that it is a PARABLE not a factual account of an actual event!!! The point is that the Pharisee and the members of the priest caste (Levites) can not help a bleeding dirty naked man because according to their purity requirements they can not touch anything dirty or bloody (except the clean unblemished animals they sacrifice to God). Their legalism means they show no compassion/ mercy to a fellow Jew!
The Samaritans are colonists who were forcibly relocated to Samaria by the Assyrians, whilst the Israelites who originally owned that land (descendants of the tribes of Manasseh, Ephraim together with some of the priest caste that served them religiously the Levites) were taken to the furthest regions of the Assyrian Empire. The Bible tells us that these Assyrian colonists converted to worship of Yahweh because God would not allow any idolatry in Israel so kept sending wild animals such as lions to eat them so they either converted or left! Samaritans only believe in the first 5 books of the Old Testament and believe worship should be on Mount Gerizim where Joshua made sacrifices to God.
The Babylonian Empire conquered Judea as well as Northern Israel and took the leaders of the Jews to Babylon. However later the Persians conquered the Babylonian Empire and allowed the Jews to return to Israel. The Jews when they returned wanted to rebuild their Temple on Mount Zion so they could worship God but the Samaritans tried to stop them. Thus although the Jews and Samaritans worship the same God and follow essentially the same religion the Jews view Samaritans as colonists of an enemy occupying Israelis land and an enemy who bastardised their religion and tried to stop their worship.
In the PARABEL Jesus has the enemy, a Samaritan, who acted as a neighbour showing mercy and compassion to his enemy. Something that echoes Jesus' teaching recounted in Luke 6:27-36.
You should note that even if the priests were not concerned about the laws on ritual purity required by their caste and job, it may be likely that they would still have passed by without assisting the beaten naked victim. Psychologists have studied this phenomenon and found that people are most likely to help people they think are like themselves (so a man in a suit is more likely to help a victim in a suit than wearing a tracksuit, a man belonging to one tribe is more likely to help someone he thinks might be in his tribe than someone he thinks is not) and also 'diffusion of responsibility' where one assumes the next person who comes along will help and probably do so better so do not act themself.
Jesus is NOT portraying Jews as "hypocrites", after all He is a Jew, the Lion of Judah and King of Jews! He's just helping the legalist questioning him to understand what a neighbour is and that its the mercy you show not the legal conformity to rituals that actually matters.

As God incarnate stated "an empire divided can not stand" which is why He wished His church to be "as one" ie unified. You should read articles about Bella Dodd the communist infiltrator who was placing KGB agents/ sodomites into seminaries during the 19650s and following conversion detailed the socialist plan to destroy their main Christian Capitalist opponents - the RC church, USA and UK.
As far as the CoE is concerned they have as head an adulterer, who like the founder of their "church" is allegedly murdered his former wife (according to Dodi Al Fayed's father) and who defends the Christian faith in the way that the Socialist WEF puppets Rishi Sunak and Two Tier Kier Stalin defend the UK Border or Kamala Harris and Biden defends the USA's southern Border! The CoE also has rejected most of Christ's teachings and fully embraced Communism/ Marxist Ideology "woke". I’m a Christian and attend Sunday Service yesterday. A statement was read out from the hierarchy which to be quite honest left me cold and appalled. It’s message which was solely argued around the violence, disorder and called for the coming together of everyone going forward. It was centred around the governments narrative of “the law will be enforced and punishment metered out”. We as a society live by our belief in the law and it’s a fundamental principle that we condemn violence and criminality which has no place in it - “the consent of the people” - but the message left me seriously concerned as it failed to address the causes of this latest breakdown of our society.
What appalled me most is our mission is helping people on the margins of society who lived in poverty, stress, fear, homelessness, living from Food banks and have become the forgotten ones. Not once did I hear the message call upon our authoritarian government to address the causes of the disturbances and the massive problems our churches faces daily supporting our struggling and failing communities.
In fact the message came across as the church being scarred to be outspoken and call, as the Police and Crime Commissioner of Hampshire and Isle of Wight did when she said the Government needs to engage in a free and frank discussion with the British people about the causes of the unrest. The message totally ignored the ‘silent majority’ who are living under and lost faith in our divided labelled society. The Elite are burying their heads in the sand and failing to honestly address the problems we face, choosing to gloss over the huge chasms created by identity politics and labelling in an ever increasing intolerant society.

If Welby labels all concerned (so-called far-right) patriots as non-Christians, I seriously wonder if he knows what a Christian is.
Welby is in the London bubble like the politicians, and now, it seems, the King. Their only concern, it seems, is to uphold the status quo.
Lord, you promised Abram for the sake of ten - there are more than ten still. Keep us safe in our country and help those who wish to restore its Christian culture. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

I think it is high time the CofE bishops resign their orders, in answer to your two questions on the silence and weak response is a simple answer - they don't believe in Jesus. they do the job as social workers not as workers for Christ. Do they call the nation to pray, do they introduce Christ to the people of this nation, do they introduce Christ to the people landing on our shores by rubber dingy.

I am an Anglican and i avoid reading or listening to anything he puts out there. It really pains me. All the good he could do, the wisdom he could bring. Jesus died for all. The muslims too and also those Welby would label 'racist'. There is much in the old testament about welcoming the sojourner. But it doesn't say that the sojourner gets to commit murder, live at your expense for life, persecute others or get preferential treatment over others in need already here. I don't hate anyone and pray for unity in the UK, but also for us to be protected from tyranny and injustice, for the preservation and restoration of all that is good in Britain, that we would share but not sacrifice.

The Gospel being that we are all sinners ; separated from God because of this ; and will continue to be , unless we trust in the atonement for us of Jesus Christ , who paid for our wrongdoings ( sins ) on the Cross at Calvary . He died , was buried and rose again on the third day , and now offers the GIFT of eternal life to all who will trust Him . John , Chapter 6 , verses 37 to 47 . Titus , Chapter 3 , verse 5 . Ephesians Chapter 2 , verses 8 and 9 . Welby is more concerned about social , political issues than about preaching Eternal Salvation via Christ alone . He mirrors many in the apostate church .

Whether someone's spirituality involves Yoga, Shamanism, paganism, being in nature, or a follower of a 'World Faith', I don't expect its CEO equivalent, the Archbishop of Canterbury in the case of the CofE, to continally undermine the standing of the organisation he is supposed to lead. A board of directors would recommend the replacement of such a leader in a business. If I was an Anglican, I'd want him replaced ASAP.

When he was appointed I had high hopes for him as he had worked in industry and a member of his family suffers severe mental issues but he has proven imo to have been a disaster. What prove can he provide that those on the far right are unchristian ! Is he having a mental breakdown ! As for immigrants I personally feel that the vast majority of us welcome those fleeing from tyranny & persecution. Why wouldn't we ! However when it comes to illegal immigration what is up setting many people is they are seeing them being given priority when it comes to housing over those who have been on waiting lists for years. Having once been one of those people I have an understanding of their anger. I remember having a conversation with a lady selling War Cry many years ago now and she said why is it when we go to other countries we have to adapt to their customs but when they come he we have to adapt to what they want. And she was so right.

I would add that there can be an argument for immigration having an intrinsic identity - ie when it substantively and negatively effects the host nation. Clearl not all immigration comes under this heading, but when it does, the hosts must have a right to call it out and act to redress the balance. What that redress consists of must be decided democratically and not be dictated. If we believe that our western Christian culture is a gift from God, we cannot allow it to be destroyed by cultures that are antithetical to it. Having said that, the reading from Kirkby was very helpful at clarifying a difficult topic.

I am beginning to wonder if he has the onset of dementia. Sadly for us who have to sit in a CofE pew, we get bashed over the head with Welby's words. 'Far right' is the latest hammer.

@@juliamacdonald294 perhaps a change of church might be the answer for you. There are a growing number of Anglican churches which are teaching the true Gospel.

Countries founded upon migration like Australia and New Zealand have the strictest border protection policies because we understand the problem of integrating people with different customs. As a doctor I looked after 4800 illegal boat people from Afghanistan. If you lived in a society ruled by terror, and you were forced to flee, not knowing the location of your first born child who was taken and tortured, you might fall on the ground and plea for help like some of my patients did.
There is a vast difference between this group of illegal boat people, and economic migrants who have not come from an environment of such terror.
How can a person from a poor country afford to pay 15,000 pounds to get on a rubber dinghy and cross the English Channel? They are getting this money from some third party.
They may be seeking a place to live where there is a stable democracy and opportunities to be educated, set up a business and earn an income. Why not put the effort in back in their home countries instead? Why leave women and children to face difficulties alone?
So who is this third party? An entity that seeks to destroy the economies of the countries of origin and the country that receives them.
This is planned mass migration and economic terrorism. That is why it must be stopped.

It's a mystery why people in peril would pay thousands to people smugglers, and endure a journey on an inflatable across busy shipping lanes, rather than get a cheap flight and claim asylum? The difference is the flight would require a passport by which to identify them, while official papers can be lost in mid-Channel. This alone should ring alarm bells. The fact that it doesn't insists such migration routes are not only tolerated, but encouraged.

Regarding who is funding the illegal arrivals. In Australia the people smuggling operations were actually based in Australia and every refugee knew the phone number. They raised the money within their communities to bring others out on the illegal boats. This was to circumvent strict family reunion policies. Most of the boat arrivals had never been in a refugee camp and were quite well off in their home countries, especially if their families sent money to them.
However all our political parties agreed to stop the boats because only one in three boats got through and the death rate was appalling. Only men and boys travelled because the women were raped and sold into the sex trade on the way through Asia.
People were also smuggled through airports and ships by airline staff, cleaners, baggage handlers and airport workers. There were elaborate fake passport operations that involved overseas governments. I personally met 3 Taliban, all of whom manipulated charities including the Red Cross to get them into Australia and receive donations afterwards.
Asylum seekers still have churches running after them seeking to shower them with gifts . Fake social justice is fuelling this . There are many people benefiting from the asylum " industry".
