Dion proves he's still the King of Doo Wop, just as important to the evolution of Rock & Roll as Bob Dylan...Dion is now proving that he's the king of the NY Blues too!!! Dion is just a pure talent that should be honored by every fan of music. Period!!! 50 years of recording, man !!!
To all those who weren't around in the middle to late 1950's,it was a great time to be a "teenager," hearing sounds from the likes of Dion. There were so many great groups who sang the greatest sounding music to one's ear. AM radio was boss.
Dion was not drinking or using drugs at the time of this concert. I have listened to Dion sing this particular song since I was a Teenager In Love at age 17 in 1959. This version is one of his best !
I love the way his singing is so restrained that he allows the warmth and character of his voice to shine through whilst still being pitch perfect. Total contrast to the sceeching phony emmotional histrionics of tv talent shows.
Makes me feel 13 years old all over again, still has that 60's mystique, that expectation and the possibilities of what life might bring. If only we could recapture the dreamy innocence of that era.
Over 50 years of singing this song first on Bandstand in 1959 and here at Trop in Vegas in 2004. Heres the King of the New York Subway singers the Mighty One Dion DiMucci So Coooool
I remember walking down 224th street in Queens Village one evening in the Summer and in the distance I heard the soft melodic sounds of this song coming from the speakers in a Catalina convertible with a few teenagers sitting in the car smoking cigarettes. Still stays embedded in my mind 53 years later
I so agree: growing up in the 50's, this song was truly, an anthem for a generation, and I'm so proud to have been a part of it. Forever, Dion! Wolfsky9
I always loved Dion's early version of this song, but this one is also great! He sings it with such sensitivity, feeling, and deep emotion. It's truly moving and touching.
Les deux colorés choristes, résolument emballés par la brillante et énergique performance du vieux Dion, ajoutent à cette démonstration absolument époustouflante.
THIS A SUCH A TREAT WHAT A GREAT SOUND DION YOUR THE BEST THE BELMONTS ALSO I MET DION IN SAMASH MUSIC STORE SOME TIME BACK WHAT A COOL GUY THATS WHAT LEGENDS IS ALL ABOUT FOLKS
Dion Francis DiMucci nasceu em 18 de Julho de 1939 nos Estados Unidos.Conhecido pelo seu primeiro nome, obteve grande sucesso como cantor pop, rock e R&B nos finais dos anos 50 e principio dos anos 60
This is the only person alive that i can listen to whine about teenage love, thats right taylor swift i'm talking to you. One of the reasons i can listen to him is because this guy has REAL TALENT.
When I was 25 years old, I was the first Dion fan, to hit the church stage, that April 11,1986 night..., yeah after he asked for 3 REAL teenagers to help him with The Belmonts backup. We extended the word "Love" after a bit of stage fright welled up as Di put the mike in front of me for the title phrase..., I held out the above word... then did a quick "Holly Hickup" at the end.
Tengo 45 años y crecí en una familia rocanrolera y cuando escuché por primera vez este rolonon woooo que época tan chida saludos desde Uruapan Michoacán México

That’s how you’re supposed to sing. If you try to sing a whole show like any of the tv style singers you’ll lose your voice after one or two songs
Sorry I'm late to the game, but I totally agree. Hope you're still around to read this. (Not to be dark, but covid and all, ya know?)
Dion is amazing. His life's journey has been more than remarkable.
Makes me feel 13 years old all over again, still has that 60's mystique, that expectation and the possibilities of what life might bring. If only we could recapture the dreamy innocence of that era.
One of the few classic legends that only gets better as time passes.
There Will Never Be Another Dion! His Band IS Wonderful! THEY ARE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE STARES! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
Over 50 years of singing this song first on Bandstand in 1959 and here at Trop in Vegas in 2004. Heres the King of the New York Subway singers the Mighty One Dion DiMucci So Coooool
