Hey, thank you very much for the review! I recently got the Drawing set and it is just so nice! I also own a set of Polychromos, which are my favorite pencils but they are a bit hard to work with. Because you also do this comparison in your video, do you think that it is worth getting the Colorsoft if I already own the Polychromos? I thought if the Colorsoft are softer and easier to blend (similar to the Prismas, which are not available in Europe) than the Polys then yes, but it seems that you think they are equally as soft.

Thank you so much for the nice comment. I have to admit at the point of making this video I barely had any mileage with other "nice" colored pencils than the Polychromos. I compared them to the Coloursoft pens because you can achieve similar blends with them. But after reading your comment I had to make another blending test, because the video is from so long ago!
The derwent Coloursoft pencils are indeed waaay softer than the Polychromos, while the result may look similar. So it's really just a question of preference in the end. My wife also let me test her Chromaflow pencils. They are also very nice and maybe cheaper for you to get, depending on where you live.
If you're unsure, I am a huge fan of "Frankensteining" together my color pencil collection. So maybe buy a few Coloursoft pencils open stock if you can and see how you like their behavior compared to the polys.😊
I hope I was able to make things clearer! 😁

I was very pleased to find that someone has tested these Derwent pencil varieties together. I have been looking at a lot of reviews of the muted tone drawing pencils (the 24 set), which I find beautiful, and noticing how many people wish there were more colors, including a few more greens and blues, and a few brights. I occurred to me that the Coloursoft line would be the best Derwent pencils to combine with them, probably the most compatible for composition, texture, blending quality. Could you think of them as one big extended Derwent set? 🤗

Combining colored pencils that compliment each other makes absolute sense and I do it a lot! 😁 I'm happy you enjoyed the review. ☺️

I find the drawing ones harder than the colorsofts actually and the drawing brand is lightfast due to the colours more than anything. colorsofts were derwents attempt at creating pencils like prismacolors

I feel like they have a whole different consistency really. I haven't had colored pencils that felt like the drawing ones before. It's funky xD.
Yeah! That's what I heard too.
      The Prismacolor thing.

Really pretty colors, I might look into getting the second set at some point :D. As far as I know in the Netherlands we also do not have prismacolors for sale in stores (at least never seen them anywhere). Also only ever seen them online (amazon etc) and indeed expensive.

We're not so far apart countrywise hehe so I see why we both have a hard time getting the Prismas. They're an American brand after all. But yeah these are super nice! I always knew Derwent as a super cheap sketchbook brand here 🤣 I was so happy how nice these pens are.

@@NoobsyDraws Yeah, saw some videos about prismas and the colors look lovely. But indeed an American thing and not having found them in stores here xD. Have one Derwent set I have had for a while and that is nice, the ones in your vid are different colors though and eager to try those at some. Lovely present from your wife, enjoy the pencils ^0^/

Yeah same! Plus you don't know which production date of Prismas your getting. Once I heard someone say at some point they had really breaky leads.
Hehe happy I made you curious xD. Thank you!
