You've made some smashing feeders there. I love the metal mesh type trays. I wish they all did that. Even bird tables should have them. Stop the food clogging. Thanks for the information.

Thanks very much! I agree the mesh is nice but kinda hard to find sometimes and work with.

Ah feeding is very rewarding for me. I feed yr round but will be relocating this winter and stopped feeding months ago. Let me tell you it is tuff to stop feeding them in an area you have for many yrs. Something very rewarding about knowing what birds show up at what time of yr..lol my own personal calendar as I see it. But I am looking forward to setting up in a new area. I have a hand full of coconut shells that I cut a 3 inch hole in just above center and hang at the edge of the woods and along my trails. On my walks I fill them with oil seed and the Titmice , Black Caps love to feed from them off and away from the main feeders. And they last for along time....those simple coconut feeders are at least 20 yrs old.

It is hard to find a good birdfeeder. People could make much money for the ideal one like the double one or one on 9 minutes with screen/top/deep sides/open etc.. I don't know how to cut the wood.

Hi Shasha - yes, the typical box store tends to sell cheaper plastic or metal feeders. Some specialty shops will sell better designed and built feeders. Check also garden centres as they sometimes carry better ones. Making your own can be very rewarding and some basic ones are often most used by birds. For example a wood tray with a roof. You can do it with basic hand powered saws, hammers and screw drivers but powered saws certainly make things easier. Just depends what you have access to. But don’t be afraid to try. Get a basic plan off the internet and give it a shot.

I'm sure glad you left the title up on the video as long as you did. It takes me at least 3 minutes to read 5 words.
