- Ford Tourneo Minibus joining the M3 from Fleet services. I'd already slowed down a little to allow him to join, while waiting for the vehicle on my offside to pass so I could move over to lane two. Once I've maneuvered, it appears the minibus speeds up so I signal to move back to lane one. As I do so, he appears to slow down forcing me back in to lane 2. He then proceeds to accelerate leaving me stranded in lane 2.

It's drivers like these that cause accidents but the police are more interested in the drivers going over the speed limit regardless if they are driving safely.

@@BadWiltshireDrivers Speed and they're on you. Create a 2 mile tailback by sitting in the middle lane at 60mph, making drivers around you furious and causing people to make rash decisions and they don't want to know.
The police don't allow for common sense. There are heavy use drivers that can safely do 90mph with absolute concentration and total awareness of hazards half a mile ahead and they will get the book thrown at them, meanwhile Doris in her Nissan Micra is doing 15mph in a 20mph zone and she's just rolled through a red light because 'she didn't notice it.'
One thing that irks me about driving on the motorway, is when you've got your cruise control set to about 70-74.
Someone will overtake you, and then got back into your lane ahead - Fair enough.
But then they slow down, so you have to overtake, or else slow down too.
You pull in the next lane on the right to overtake, still with the cruise control on, and then they speed up.
So still doing your set 74mph, you pull back into the lane on the left.
Only for the guy ahead to then slow down again!
It's a really annoying kind of juvenile behavior I see a lot on British motorways - They have no desire to go any faster, but they will go out of their way to not be overtaken.
But I have found a way to use it to my advantage...
If someone in front of you is going a bit too slow, just put your right turn signal on.
They'll think you intend to overtake, and think "Oh, he's going to get one up on me, I can't let him overtake me!" and speed up to about 80 instantly, getting out of your way.
most car does that to buses on a dual carriageway . bus speed limited to 56mph . me getting used to now .

When things like this happened when I was a kid in the car with my Dad, he'd say, quite loudly, as if the person could hear him "Drive that thing or give it away!"

Ok the silver van was half asleep, but your dangerous and aggressive tailgating was much worse. You then topped it off with a w@nk sign at the other driver.

he took the piss by not slowing down when the van was trying to merge. Shouldn’t have had to move lanes, just need to give way but instead he sped up
Far far too many people seem to think it's ok to dither up the slip road at 30mph and join the motorway at 40mph.
You're supposed to use the slip road to get up to full speed for the motorway.
This really bugs me, as we're stuck on a limiter we try to accommodate the more gifted driver lol. And they shaft us like this. What a idiot. Be safe buddy 👍👍👍

A lot of moaning about nothing really. Yes, the van driver needs to learn to join the Mway at Mway speeds and he needs to get a heavier right foot, but there was room for the truck to move over and the van was catching the red lorry so he managed to find a bit of speed to prevent being boxed in. No drama.
He really needed to speed up.

Roads are full of people like that sitting in the middle lane . It's for overtaking FFS that's why he moved back in . A good driver.

Diefer got pissed at the van driver for failing to enter the motorway properly (when given all the room he could possibly need) & then failing to maintain a consistent speed..... OK, so he's intolerant of crap driving.... hell, I certainly get pissed when people start taking pics on their mobile phones while driving.... & if that defines me as intolerant too, I'm happy with that!

Couldn’t find the indicators when he was merging and also expected the camera vehicle to move over to the right lane. Then he indicates and moves over at the same time. Should retake the test

This happens to me nearly every time I merge onto motorway I always get stuck behind someone trying to join the traffic at 50 mph. When I beep at them they look at me like I’m fkn stupid. So frustrating as I drive a lot on motorways.
The reflection on the screen of the driver doing the wanker routine was a nice touch
I think you are driving a vehicle big enough to be fitted with a speed governing device. This appears to limit your choice in what action to take when faced with a indecisive clown like the VW van driver. I am assuming that the van driver does not have a speed limiting device fitted so he can go as fast or as slow as he likes. He dithered and could not make his mind up to overtake the red truck which he should have seen and responded to much earlier. There are people who cannot manage to enter motorways correctly and dither along at their previous speed more suitable for a side road, after about 5-10 minutes, if ever, they realise that they can speed up without incurring the wrath of the police. Other slow drivers respond to being overtaken by a truck or HGV by speeding up to thwart the trucks effort to get ahead. When the truck aborts the overtake the car slows down unduly in front of the truck and so the cycle continues.I have seen this happen every day on Irish motorways and it infuriates me. These slow drivers think they are safe drivers but they are anything but.
Two bad drivers in this clip. Trying to move back in was the more egregious move here.

Sometimes you get 3 or 4, and it's always an Audi idiot that wants to get out past everyone else at the back, across 3 lanes, before the first car is out of the slip road.
The person letting you out doesn't have to. It's there right of way. I don't think many people realise it tbh. Because I can't always move the van over I've had had fingers up, tailing me and getting flashed. Some real ignorance about.
I hate people who drive all the way to the end of the slip road before even attempting to join the carriageway, I was taught to always get into lane one as soon as the road markings allow, then you have got the rest of the slip road left if you are unable to join at that point.
It's called an acceleration lane so use as such asxhole and if need to be shown. Then stay off the road

The same people who complain about having to travel at posted speeds , WHHHYYY do we have to travel so Quick we should be allowed to travel 30 k below the speed requirements , weeee aren't good at doing high speeds . We need more allowance to travel well below the limits . Well dudes there called back roads travel them and Fuck off being on the express ways EASY.
I wouldn't say its too much of a fail. Not defending the slow driver but it did seem like the person was trying to predict what you were going to do. But at the same time, this is the problem with people in cars that are afraid behind the wheel. They hesitate, make mistakes and cause more accidents than they realize
I agree with you, actually. I'm not saying the overtaking vehicle was obligated to give way, but he didn't slow or do anything to avoid the near miss when it was painfully obvious the merging vehicle was out of room. Of course the van should have gone faster for a smoother merge, but we can't control the other car. We can only do what we can to be a part of the solution.
what that van did is what i see every day on the a3 and because everyone uses the overtaking lane as a fast lane i can't get out of the way

It's really not that hard to merge, those newer Fords are like rockets so it's not as if they don't have time to speed up! Probably got it through mobility, OAP at the wheel or something.

I’m limited to 56MPH I was on that limit. I pulled out to over take once it was clear, it was here he decided to speed up leaving me in lane 2. When I pulled back in , he slowed back down ever so slightly. Very dangerous position to put a truck in

I shouldn't have to but, I wasn't going to slow down and lose momentum just because he doesn't know how to merge safely

@@Dieferdan Your refusal to lose momentum clearly panicked the merging vehicle driver. We are not all professional drivers and occasionally require some assistance. Is it so difficult to anticipate what was about to occur?
