Jake, please do a video covering the harmful toxic chemicals inside acrylic adhesives and tape. It’s not covered enough. Take a look at the MSDS sheet of ultra hold for example. Full of class 2 carcinogens and toxic chemicals. It appears ghostbond is the only safe adhesive
@@icyrunner2070 I don’t think so because even scalp protector itself has harmful chemicals. Plus it will eventually breakdown exposing your skin to the bond
Think supertape might be okay. Been in touch with the company and they claim they haven’t used any of the typical chemicals such as toluene, heptane, phthalates in their tape
In terms of rebonding, a hair band/alice band is an absolute must have for gluing the hairline. And if i do get any in the hair, just let it set, then get the solvent on it and break it up, dont pull. In terms of the glue liquifying, that was the worst, all that worked for me was switching tapes until i found one that lasts longer, walker mini tabs dont liquify until 14-21 days, most takes did at 7 days before. Acrylic is definitely better, a little harsh but fuck it man im not being bald or having a gooey head. Walker Ultra Hold glue is the best for the hairline, it stays down and sticky for 2 weeks in very hot humid conditions, whereas ghost bond used to lift in 3 days in freaking winter. I've generally found that heat isnt a factor, just the adhesive itself. Some break down after a week, some after 2 weeks.
I think the best combo is olive oil to loosen the glue and fine tooth comb it followed by dawn detergent mixed with water in the sink so it’s not quite as harsh. If it’s really bad add the c22 after the olive oil.
I’ve found that Neutrogena Deep Clean face cleanser works for me. It’s an oil-free gentle face cleanser and so far I haven’t noticed damage to the hair system.
I found your channel while searching RUclips for an explanation on why the beta Beta Bond glue that I used to attach my hair extension weft to my hair, had completely melted into my hair and scalp. It’s been a year since I removed the weft however the glue continues to liquify and goo up everywhere when I wash hair. I have tried adhesive remover’s. I’ve tried rubbing alcohol oils, conditioners all all that does is make it more gooey and sticky. It’s a nightmare and I’m ready to shave my hair completely off. I’m devastated and at a loss. I have tried dish soap once but unfortunately my hair hardened and matted together and it was very hard for me to comb through myself. I’m talking like every strand of my hair is covered in this glue. Perhaps I should just try having someone help me staring with the glue stuck in my scalp then working down towards my ends strand by strand just about. After watching your video and hearing you talk about how the adhesive can change structure with heat and cooling makes me think that maybe in my case it was the bleaching and Ola Plex treatments I had done in my hair that chemically reacted with the adhesive that was still in my hair from my previous extensions. Anyways I’m so glad I found your video because no one else understood what what was happening to me. I even called the company I bought the adhesive from and she said she never heard of that happening before. Her glue Beta Bond is an acrylic based adhesive and is very strong and a nightmare to remove
Jake.... I don't think you addressed this here, but which strong, for all day hold water-based product do you use or suggest? I wanna make sure the look stays even when it's windy. Thank you!
I actually do the same with the dish soap xD I heard this advice already from TheSalonGuy here at youtube. Is it ok to use it once every 2 weeks (that is my time, where I change my hair system). My biggest problem is, that the surroundings from my hair system tends to go sometimes off a little bit after I do sport. If they dont reattach after a while, then I use glue. Usually then glue gets into the hair :/ I also use tape on the hair system but I use liquid adheasive on my scalp - right now Walker Max Hold Sport as I do a lot of sports and the weather here where I live is hot (wish me luck in summer, where I will do sports in about 35°C ..I hope my hair system can manage this heat and playing soccer) PS: At the start I used only tape, but it would hold only on the PU part of my HS not at the french lace part. right now I have 2 HS, (combined PU with french lace) . Let's make them last each at least 6 months!
tip: I use tape around the perimeter and also down the middle and across. I then apply glue inside the perimeter. this helps hold the hair in place to as max to 2 weeks.
Some people say that you can swim...shower with the piece on? But surely...logically...the water from the shower...pool...will penetrate the system and the tape will just become ' gooey ' in less than a minute? What is it Im not understanding about swimming and showering with the system on?
Try putting a small strip of the tape and cover it with water. And of course their is the natural oil in your scalp that interacts with the tape as well. Mine gets gooey. Might be ok if you have a completely dry scalp...but many of us dont. Cheers.
I mean. Since it's oil then probably not if you wash your hair right after you get the glue after it and then use a good conditioner. The same applies for the dish washing soap (at least I do it that way)
I still can't understand how they say you can wash or swim wearing the system when surely water from the shower and pool will penetrate the membrane of the system and react badly with the tape adhesive? I still can't get an answer to that. Try putting a strip of the adhesive tape used for the system in a small saucer of water and watch what happens? It congeals fast.

Do you think a scalp protector would prevent this? Also I agree good video topic

Any recommantion about a safe tape ?
@@bensmirmusic I’m trying to find one

I wonder if I could use Dawn on my cesare ragazzi

Been using Dawn a long time.
It works great on scalp, to clean and also on poly to clean off any residue. Shampoo scalp after cleaning with Dawn

Thank you!
Thanks Jake. This was a very helpful video for me.
Thanks for the info mate!
Super helpful, thanks buddy!
try essential oil of peppermint or lemon or orange
Could try elbow grease cleaner/degreaser

Are you using tape on your hairline on this video? Thanks for the tips man!
Forgot to mention I only use Dawn every 2 weeks when I do re do

The thing is that it doesn't dissolve with water. It is dissolving with oil / alcohol / fat from the skin
Try putting a small strip of the tape and cover it with water. And of course their is the natural oil in your scalp that interacts with the tape as well. Mine gets gooey. Might be ok if you have a completely dry scalp...but many of us dont. Cheers.
Question, would the C22 not damage the system if used to remove the glue from hair? 🤔
I mean. Since it's oil then probably not if you wash your hair right after you get the glue after it and then use a good conditioner.
The same applies for the dish washing soap (at least I do it that way)
I call them glue boogars, its the worst. Tape is definately the right call, and be sure to remove and clean every week like Jake said
I use Isopropyl alcohol 90%. C22 just doesn't work for me.
When they will perminantly suture the system to the scalp, sure there is a a way.
What will you do when it inevitably loses hair? Unsuture/resuture?
Good information and advice Jake.
so many problems ughhhh im at that point where i might just shave my head again
Why nobody talk about hard HARD BONDS and how to use it; please!!!

Try googling ' hard bonds for a hair system.' I'm sure it will come up.
Most effective thing to break down glue is liquid lighter fluid. Best thing to comb through the hair is a metal nit comb for pets.
