HONEYSUCKLE ROSE MOVIE - This is a must see Willie Nelson movie. The music is exceptional, the acting is sublime and the script is very good and interesting. I own this movie.
In the 70's, I was in my lunch hour and I saw Willie just come into the park sit down with his guitar and begin singing in Austin, Texas, and I was told that he did that quite often. He is a natural and totally down to Earth, he loves to play. I am from Dallas so I was always a fan of his. This movie was just great and both the duo with Dyan and Amy were fantastic. Sad that no one has downloaded Honeysuckle Rose the full movie, its a classic. If someone has it downloaded please.
We bought the movie yeas ago and watch it often. This song and the way they sing it is the story of my husband and my relationship - even after 34 years. Dyan and Willie sang it like it was really about them. Amazing talent!! JoAnne
I saw this movie in a theatre in Orange Park FL in 1980. 43 years ago. It has always been one of my favorites. I have the movie and soundtrack. Willie is awesome and Dyan Cannon was hot af. Holy shit I’m old.
this is the life. working building large buildings from hotels to hospitals. getting rained out only to come home early to listing to this classic by Willie and Dyan. man I tell ya it's about as great as life can get. roll me another jay :P
Don't you still love Willie, he is awesome no matter how old he is. I love this movie, I used to watch it alot. I love the way Dyan Cannon and Wille sing together. Thank you for posting this.
Amazing love it mmm love listening and seeing this ....timeless song and singing....brilliant one of kind Willie Nelson....she is amazing blending together.. x
Willie Nelson was the one interest my husband and I had together. We're separated now. Oh, how I would love to duet this song with Willie in Silver Springs. Just for my husband.
I was 10yrs old and my Cousin took me to see the movie in the theater,,IT WAS my start on a lifetime of Loving Willies` music,,having a big crush on Amy and Dyan,,,and it`s always good to see ole Slim !!!!!! GREAT MOVIE made with wonderful people and AWESOME MUSIC,,,I still have the old double LP record (which was on the top of my Christmas list that year) WILLIE for President !!!!!
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you, thank you so very very much for seeing to it that I was born, and I lived during the time when country music like this reigned supreme. I cannot help but tear up so bad, as I put these words down for everybody to read. This song is so beautiful, so tender, and yet, so unbelievably powerful. I cannot stress firmly enough that you pull up the lyrics to this song, and sing along and while you’re singing, I want you to think of somebody in your past, that you loved more than anything on this earth, besides Jesus. Every time I have, I just start crying like a baby and it is so wonderful to let yourself go and cry like that and give God thanks for seeing to it that you was born during the time of the season of the baby boomers. The season of baby-boomers. 1946-to-1964.
@garlandremingtoniii1338 - Well, now you have given it a name. "The season of baby-boomers." And to those years, I would add Elvis (1935), Kris (1936), (Don Everly, 1937), and Phil Everly (1939). (Here is a clip from a performance by The Everly Brothers who had the most perfect rhythm and harmony this side of heaven: ) ruclips.net/video/JhPr6Bt2YEI/видео.html "The season of baby-boomers" had not occurred to me because I suppose we simply took it for granted. But, now as we file past to our places in eternity, I realize that our artistic gifts have been truly remarkable. Truly so. And like you, when a work of art, especially music, is so moving that it quite takes my breath away, the first words that escape my lips are, "Thank you, Jesus! Hallelujah!"
This movie is when i first noticed willie i must have been about twelve but a great movie because no one was all made up but that was what was great about the seventies much natural going on that made even movies great back then .
Possibly His Magnus-Opus of the places he travelled as a poet-singer. Even tho it’s Kristoffersons’ song… Y’all don’t realize they were confidants-brothers. All the HighwayMen Pure American get-down. American-artist/voice driven. And unmatchable.
this movie brings back memories to a day of my youth. i'd just got out of the army in 78. it is even a better movie getting drunk and watching it. then you can help willie sing, even if you can't carry a tune. lol. everyone tells you to shut up. but of course you don't because your drunk. the chicks in this movie are awesome too. the babysitter was a knock out chick to wish for. then when you are done with this movie you have to watch the rose with bette middler. lol
Willie is hard to follow, she did well by leading and letting him catch up with her. One of the few women I have seen sing with him that was not afraid of him and actually sounded really good together. Great song.
Always wanted to sing this with my true love whose name is Joe T.-but somehow I guess the timing was never right.I will spend the rest of my life wondering what could have been.I want so badly to spend the rest of my life with him ,but I feel I would just give him nothing but burdens he does not deserve. What a double edged sword it is,knowing what I`ve always loved and wanted ,but never wanting to put my burdens upon him.I love you Joe,That is forever...
I wore out my tape and now it's finally out on DVD... (got it for Christmas) and it has both Honeysuckle Rose and Pure Country on the same DVD... I'd like to have the "Uncloudy Day" on youtube, but couldn't find it... please can somebody post that scene?
I'm a pretty big Willie fan...but only recently saw this movie...and I have to say I was very impressed with his acting ability. Much...much better than George Strait...lol.
I love this version,I really loved the movie

My all time favorite Willie duet. Who knew Cannon could sing like that?
Willie has had some good songs and Willie has had a lot of great songs, but Willie has never had a bad song. One of a kind for sure.
Sorry, this one was written by Willie's good friend and fellow Highwayman, Kris Kristofferson.
Loved the movie Honeysuckle Rose and who else but Willie and Dylan?? ♥️♥️
Love this movie and Dyan Cannon's unknown singing talent. I think this ranks as one of the best of all country duets ! Willie & Dyan nailed it !
Still a legend today keep going willie live long my friend
One of the most beautiful of Kris' songs sung as a duet.

Hou can very it on amazon for 2.99. I plan on watching it before long. I'm in Fort Worth. This brings back memories from before all my f*%k ups.
Tubi has it for free, but dang you gotta download the app, grrr
Much overlooked is that harmonica in the background.
Mickey was hired on for a short stent with Willie & Family over 40 years ago. Lol
Now he plays with Chris Stapleton
He still plays with Willie but stands in for Chris occasionally. What a great life he has.

What a voice Willie has!!!!!!
Willie sings almost as good as his guitar.
this is the life. working building large buildings from hotels to hospitals. getting rained out only to come home early to listing to this classic by Willie and Dyan. man I tell ya it's about as great as life can get. roll me another jay :P
Music is spiritual especially for a drifter, finding work on the road , freedom is rare more so today
I have always Loved Willie ,don't get much better than this.
Don't you still love Willie, he is awesome no matter how old he is. I love this movie, I used to watch it alot. I love the way Dyan Cannon and Wille sing together. Thank you for posting this.

I’ve seen 3 Willie 3xs , and he can play 90 minutes at 75 years old as well as any 19 year old young buck can . Go Willie go. 🙏🏼👏
I saw this movie for the first time last week - what a treat - loving this song.
Best movie ever... saved my marriage

I just want to comment on the beauty of Diane, but also how tight in the song she got with Mr Willie.
And she was +- 40years at the time.

It brings tears to my eyes.....

Great movie, great cast, great song. One of my favs. Bought the DVD years ago.
She is probably the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.....who could blame willie oh was in love with her....oh, and this duet is amazing.
Actually, Willie and Amy Irving had an affair during the movie.
Oh I just love the way Willie Nelson plays guitar.

I loved this movie. Dyan had more talent than expected. Must be years ago now.
I just caught this movie the other day. A good watch, and the music is out of this world. I sure like this one.
This movie is when i first noticed willie i must have been about twelve but a great movie because no one was all made up but that was what was great about the seventies much natural going on that made even movies great back then .
Loved this movie, love this tune--and Willie--well, he's the best ever.

He wasn't doing his usual back phrasing. I couldn't imagine singing live with him. But most pull it off. He is one of a kind.

Excellent point!
RIP Kris Kristofferson
Those two people aren't singing. They're making love.
It was the late 1970s.
Nice
Do you play this song always?
I think that old beat up Martin of Willie's should be donated to the Smithsonian as a National Treasure when Willie passes away. Case closed.
Ken Bee 🐝
I think it should be buried with it.
Come a little CLOSER
Lovely 😊
It's melts my heart 💓❤️❤️

I totally agree
Amy Irving's mother, Priscilla pointer was also in this movie. I think she was married to Slim Pickens in the movie.
Love this duet...

I wore out my tape and now it's finally out on DVD... (got it for Christmas) and it has both Honeysuckle Rose and Pure Country on the same DVD... I'd like to have the "Uncloudy Day" on youtube, but couldn't find it... please can somebody post that scene?
