This remains the only game to give me absolute chills upon discovering what was really going on in the world around the characters. Okabe did an excellent job with the entire series.
Unpopular opinion: I think the Replicant soundtrack is better than Automata. Don't get me wrong. They are both amazing and beautiful. I just feel like Replicant touches my feels more.
I think Replicant also has better songs than Automata. Maybe it's because of the story that moved me the most? Maybe it's because some Automata songs come from Replicant? I do not really know...
SPOILERS --I'm inclined to agree. I think I personally feel like Nier's impact storywise was greater than Automata's . in Nier, Humanity becomes damned for good by Nier's actions, whereas in Automata, the world was already damned for thousands of years. Also, Nier G/R felt a bit more relatable since you have a Father/Brother doing everything they can to save the only family they have left. Both Shadowlord and his Replicant. Automata does a great job in giving a great twist and compelling story, but I think G/R does it better.
While I do believe that Automata is a better game and one that I absolutely enjoyed in every sense, the story and soundtracks of Nier Gestalt/Replicant are absolute masterpieces that are rarely seen."
My thoughts exactly. I played gestalt and when I bought replicant to play it again I missed the bulky old man. He was such an unlikeable character for me at the beginning, but as story progresses I got so very attached to him.
I love everything with emotional singing, the boss battles are great too but don't stick with me as much. Loved Nr. 15 ingame, enjoyed it everytime when I entered the Junk Heap!
I am guessing Square Enix monetized this. Makes sense, but annoying how it interrupts. I'm getting an ad between each song. Such good songs though. Good job making this playlist!

It's alright, everyone has their own unique taste and opinion, that's what makes us human 😉
For me it's the same. But not only the soundtracks, the game aswell. It just hits more emotionally in my opinion. Automata still great tho :)

I also felt that the story of Replicant was ways better than Automata. The characters, the setting the music and moments all just blew me away.

Keiichi Okabe is my personal top 3 music composer. Nier would not be Nier without him.
I'm so happy they added the Louise DLC, her theme became my favorite
Nobuo Uematsu and Keiichi Okabe is the best game composers in my opinion.
