Thanks for this! I'd actually turned on ray tracing just to see what it's like but I don't have the CPU for it right now. I have a 3090 but that's not enough with an ol' AMD 2600x. I tried turning it off but there's like 30 ray trace settings everywhere so you reminded me of one I missed in project settings lol. Got my viewport back!
Bro you saved me all the effort of buying a new computer! or just switching to an entirely new game engine AGAIN!😒 (bad too). You have definitely earned my sub!
@@BuvesaGameDevelopment I found strange result I have two monitors one is VA and the other is IPS both are 144hz but when I move the editor to ips monitor my main monitor the problem appear but when I move the editor to second monitor the menu respond normally !!
I am experiencing a lot of freezing whenever I select object, navigate menus etc. Any idea what might be the cause of this? I never had any problems like this in UE4. Specs: GTX1070 8gb, I7 12700KF
@@BuvesaGameDevelopment I have already disabled nanite and lumen. My in-game performance is decent, it's just the editor that has wierd performance issues. But I already switched back to UE4 and the issues disappeared, guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer to switch, thx for responding though.
Editor is smooth but what to do if I'm getting around 0.2fps after packed for windows. Tried packing empty level and same and no matter what I change always same.
Hey so I have stuttering from the editors UI, but when I am moving this in the view port and content browser it's fine. And I looked around and can't find anything. Can you help with this issue? UE5 AMD Threadripper, 64GB Ram, 6900XT
been working on many projects for like a week and i was like man i cant work on this i need a new pc turns out i was just maxing out my graphics specs and now its at 60 frames thanks
Jesus I have i5 and gtx 1660 8gb RAM and ue5 is more slow than unity evan thoe my project in unity has more models and textures while in ue5 its only the terrain
How can I do this to video photography program before it crashes..it does it once I launch it never makes it to the program pad I can get on modeling program and racing program but can't open video photography program
There are several reasons why you may be experiencing lag in Unreal Engine 5, causing your frame rate to drop to 40 FPS: The scene is too complex and the engine is struggling to render all the assets and effects. Try optimizing the scene by reducing the number of assets, simplifying the materials, and reducing the number of light sources. The computer's hardware may not be powerful enough to run the scene at a high frame rate. Make sure that your computer meets the recommended system requirements for Unreal Engine 5. Your computer's GPU is not powerful enough to handle the high-resolution textures and complex shaders used in the scene. Try reducing the texture resolution and simplifying the shaders to improve performance. You might be running many post-processing effects on your scene, which can cause a performance hit. You can try disabling or reducing the number of post-processing effects. The physics simulation in your scene might be causing a performance hit. Try reducing the number of physics objects or decreasing the complexity of the physics simulation. The player might be running on a low-end system and you have set the graphic settings to a high-end system. Your project might have a lot of Blueprints running at the same time, which could be causing a performance hit. Try optimizing the Blueprints and disabling unnecessary ones. You might be running too many AI or particle systems, which can cause a performance hit. Try reducing the number of AI or particle systems. It's important to note that the cause of lag can vary greatly and it is hard to give a definitive answer without more information about your project and system setup. Try to identify the bottleneck and optimize accordingly.
If u r workin' with ue5 it's 'cuz u r testin' it or wanna work more realistic... Sadly u need a nice PC to run it properly, otherwise u'll can't explote its potential... There's no other trick but investing money on a good hardware...
Best advice : if you really want to develop video game, buy a real computer ! PS: lot of players play in ULTRA/EPIC graphics, so if you computer doesn't support this resolution, how will you know if it works?
Thanks so much for this! Unreal was so frustrating before, but now it's a lot smoother and I'm happy haha
Nice ;)
I see allot of comments but not enough likes on the actual video. Thank you so much
Thank you! Changing all of those lumen options in project settings fixed it for me. From constant lag whenever I looked around to smoothness!
Nice!
The first step alone was extremely helpful
You are amazing 😭

Actual life saver
Just purchased a unreal engine course and thought i will never be able to finish it
(Step 2 did it for me)
Unreal 4 was usable before. Even after a sizable upgrade to the computer ue5 still stuters and runs and a stable 10 fps.
That lumen thing really helped a lot! Thank you!
Great!
saved thanks ;) the amount of places you can change scalability is insane...
The tip about setting the shadows and post processing to high helped sooo much. Thank you. 🙏... and you just got a subscriber.
Clear and to the point. So helpful. Thank you!
I love you.
♥
Just installed Unreal Engine 5 and noticed the lag so thanks for this video!
Ok, same as every body else you changed the course of my experience from suffering to enjoying. so glad came a cross your video.
Thank you 😊
Great :D
You rock, you solved my issue in like 5 seconds. I knew my pc could run it better. Also apparently you rock so hard I was already subscribed to you 🤣
Step 1 already gave me a great performance boost! Thanks 😮

tysm man this helped the first way you showed worked 45 seconds into the video
you can change it to epic when you upload your map is a good tip, something obvious that i didn't consider thanx!
;)
What I found out (even in Unreal 5 not changed) is that if we open more and more editor's windows, it will significantly eat up the GPU...
Thank was exactly what I was searching for
Great! Glad I could help.

The lighting worked great
Yoooo man! A million thanks to you for solving the problem that I've been struggling with for hours :)
I love you more than the other guy. Thank u
I set things to medium and that alone was good . thanks for the vid
Man, this helps a lot! Thanks
Great!
I was about drop $700 on a new graphics card. Saved me. Thanks!
Thank you! so so much now my potato pc doesn't have a difficult time running UE5
Glad I could help you with that potato ;)
Thanks! From 15fps on medium to 35fps
Nice!
TYSM Bro It helped me a lot
Thank you so much. It works alot better now.
Thanks man your a life saver
Thank You! 🙏
Thank you!
Thanks yo 🤘🏾
thank you for this, it's really helpfull
great! ty so much!
I have different problem , any main menu or short menu I open the mouse lag and the editor crash nothing of the above instructions worked.
Hm first time I heard about that error, if this keeps happening- Try if this is another project or template and maybe reïnstall the entire engine

Epic Games have recommended hardware specs on their download page and FAQ, try disabling & enabling lumen to see the biggest difference.

I hope with these settings you can mess around in unreal as well. It sure is a 'heavier' engine than unity.
1:17 I can't change any of these settings, it's not letting me
thanks for your help, when i change the settings from epic to lets say medium does it affect the rendering as well ? or is it just the viewport
When exporting the game I would put the settings to your desired final product, so make it the same.

thanks
thx you😁
thx bro
Is there another way? This affects the quality of the work very bad
I went from 10 fps to 40-60 thanks
Unfortunately still Lagging :/

Yea, it's not as bad as yours but I get like 40 fps for some reason.

If you are serious about Unreal Engine, you need a good computer. But these settings are great for testing out
from 30 fps to 120 fps thxxxx
2fps on highest to 4 fps on lowest, my computer actually fucking sucks.
It’s still the same 😢
Best advice : if you really want to develop video game, buy a real computer ! PS: lot of players play in ULTRA/EPIC graphics, so if you computer doesn't support this resolution, how will you know if it works?
