- World Record Tire Jump. Yep, the idea was so bad we had to head to Great Falls, Montana to watch this horrible idea unfold. Mikey Leach had mentioned it to Pastrana months ago and Travis got dizzy just hearing about it. We grabbed the crew and headed to Big Sky country to watch this unfold. The preparation was not only a three-story high dirt take-off ramp but a fully outfitted tractor tire complete with a race seat and five-point harness.
When the test sent the tire went through the neighbor's fence we added an uphill "brake" that seemed to work after a handful more tests. The actual run proved to be a complete brake failure and Mikey was in for the ride of his life.

When the tire didn't stop and started picking up a little speed again Mikey's excitement was hilarious!
As an Australian, the most terrifying thing was watching you all run around in that long grass
i live in Montana and there aint much danger in tall grass other than some little snakes and spiders. But none compared to Australia of course.
Australia is that wild? You can run through the grass for a week and not find 1 snake or anything.
Well you gotta have ticks in tall grass, wich can give Lymes disease, right?
Yeah absolutly, I accually had a tick on the top of my head from when I was a kid climbing a tree. However lymes disease for me anyways wasnt that serious and I got over it within two weeks, really sore all over my body and felt tired all the time.

@@dbeerewout Lyme disease isn’t common at all in Montana. Way more common on the East Coast. Probably more likely to get Rocky Mountain spotted fever (which is very rare).

Equal parts crazy and awesome!! And this is coming from someone who used to buy $50 cars in the 90s just to crash them into things! I think I still hold the record for most barrel rolls of a chevy s10 that was still able to drive afterward. (3x) we just didn't get it on film because the guy who had the camera was held up on his shift at work. 😂

I loved this video guys; thanks. It almost made me cry. Me and my 2 brothers did the same on a hill but pointed the tire in the direction of the trees for an abrupt stop. We could only fit 2 at a time in it and it was back in 1987 we did this. Without a harness or helmets but we're Gen-X and we couldn't be killed.

I've done this with a plastic water drum and dislocated both my shoulders😂😂 thin plastic is definitely not as forgiving as rubber tire that's for sure😂😂 idk what generation I am but I'm 20 now ahaha did it when I was 14

my childhood best friend and i did this when we were like 12, we both got in the same tractor tire and sent it down a hill, jumped the fence that was supposed to stop us, jumped down about a 14 foot bluff and rolled like halfway up the other side, finally rolled over onto a downed tree. one of the funniest memories i have from my childhood. i still chuckle thinking about us screaming on the way down 🤣

I had forgotten, thankfully I might add the time in the mountains when my friend and found a 55 gal barrel / drum and decided what fun it would be rolling down a hill inside it. Now I was young and nieve thinking my friend would aim me away from the vertical obstacles growing from the ground. I learned three things , inside a rolling barrel isnt near the fun it seems like it would be. You cannot trust a friend in a situation like that. Lastly as little fun I found out rolling in a barrel turned out to be , it was like going to the fair compared with that sudden stop , impacting a tree.
This reminds me of back in the day doing this at a junk yard in a big plastic tube.. minus the jump haha 😂😂
Fancy , back in the 70s we took large truck and tractor tires up a small mountain near us .
Needless to say I lost a few teeth and fair amount of flesh , by small I mean 300 feet at 60 % incline .

Grew up in San Francisco, on a hill. One time we found a tire, and guess what? Yup, "hey!, wut if someone gets in it, and we roll it"? I was always the one that some kind of way. Would get talked into doing crazy things. I agreed, but said, "you guys gotta stop me after a short run". You ain't stopping a tire, with someone in it. Especially on a rather steep hill. I remember my arms/legs slapping the sidewalk. Didn't even have time to worry, when I went into the street. They did say, "Wow! must've went, atleast 10 ft in the air. After hitting a Volkswagen Battle, coming up the street. I was more scared, thinking I was in trouble. Happy to be running away, with my friends.
I miss having the body to do stoopid stuff like this. Im 58. It caught me this year. Grrr... Cool stuff!
Remember that old woman that was being rescued by a helicopter, and as she was being winches up to the helicopter she began to spin ridiculously fast! Travis should do that.
