Wonderful to recapture this in 2024 , 34 years later, and get a new slant on it all . Great interview and show ❤

Drella is a great album. Great to see Lou happy and friendly and not trying to humiliate the interviewer. Maybe this is how he is with friends that actually knew him?

Bram van Splunteren and Lou always had a good relationship. Mainly because he's really interested and doesn't ask stupid questions.

He got a bit older, wiser, and liked a good journalist who knew about him and his work.

Lou believed Drella introduced a new vehicle for biography. It certainly is a touching, illuminating work.

There's also a green banana album, where you can hear very early sessions of songs of the yellow banana album (1st VU album) You can hear Waiting For The Man as an old folk song, etc. I'm so glad it became the way it is, but it's interesting to hear how you can play with songs and make great art out of it, just by playing and experimenting with them. PS: Fantastic show from John and Lou, and amazing lyrics! I'm Dutch and with the subtitles it made the text very clear. I can speak English but reading it too is an extra if English isn't your first language.
