    WOW! That clip of Reggie White just throwing Larry Allen (arguable the greatest lineman of All-Time) like ragdoll is just insane. What a monster.

      i can tell we’re all real football fans because we’re all trippin out on how anyone could do that to Larry Allen. That footage of Larry Allen running down the guy on the other team after a turnover, i would have soiled my underwear if Larry Allen was running at me like that. But seriously, for someone to just push aside one of the greatest offensive lineman in the history of the sport is kind of crazy…i don’t even think they showed any footage of him in Philly when he was even faster off the corner 😳

    • @steviechampagne
      @steviechampagne 2 месяца назад +1

      @@petermoss208nah for real it makes sense why QBs make the most money on the team. Imagine having 4-5 300 pound giant freaks of nature charging at you and you have to make the right play in less than 2.5 seconds or else you’re getting hit. Crazy. There isn’t even 30 humans on planet earth who can play the position at a high enough level to keep the job for more than a few years. It’s gotta be the hardest position in football

    • @jblaze600
      @jblaze600 2 месяца назад +1

      It is insane. Larry Allen and Erick Williams are literally the two strongest lineman ever. Reggie White is the first image I think of when I hear defensive end.

    • @petermoss208
      @petermoss208 2 месяца назад +1

      @@jblaze600 i don’t even like the Cowboys, but that offensive line is just cheating. Jimmy was obsessed with speed, at every position, especially the linemen. Mark Tuinei was listed at 6’5” 315lbs. Nate Newton 6’3” 335lbs. Erik Williams 6’6” 311 lbs. When you see the biometrics it makes sense why Emmitt had so much success. Imagine trying to tackle him. You can’t see him because he’s so tiny. And by the time you get an eye on him he’s already hit the hole and is basically right in front of you. Larry Allen was First-Team All-Pro 6 times lol.

    You know, seeing Bill go through his old books on coaching while talking about tackling fundamentals epitomizes Bill's knowledge and love of the game, and I would love to see what "A History of Football by Coach Bill Belichick" documentary/series would look like. He's not only the greatest football coach in my life time (if not ever), but I don't know if there is really anyone else who knows history of the game to the degree Bill knows the game while also having this fundamental understanding of the coaching and team building process.

    I remember seeing Ray Lewis time up shooting the gap or blitzing on a 4th and short at the end of a game. The Chargers/Rivers were late getting lined up, getting under the center so the play clock was running down, which meant they couldn’t hard count or it would be a delay of game/penalty with no timeouts. Being a very smart player, Lewis knew he could he time the cadence to shoot the gap. I compare it to watching the light of cross traffic turning red which means your light is about to turn green, so if you are familiar with the light, you can time it to where the light turn greens right as you cross the white line to the intersection without slowing down/stopping. Don’t recommend doing this, not safe. Just a comparison.

    Rob Ninkovich was the clock. In 3.8 seconds, if the qb still had the ball, Ninko had the sack. He controled the edge in the running game. On punt and kick cover teams, he became the stopper once he stopped trying to make arm tackles. Instead, he'd get his backfield shoulder to hit the returner, dropping them on the spot. Truly enjoyed watching him play and a very underrated player, especially playing against the Bills.

    I’ve always been fascinated with pre snap stuff/cadence/audibles, starting from when I was younger watching Brady, specifically when he’d “alert, alert!” or call out a defender on a play. Or even when he started with the “Alpha!”. It’s hard to find content on it, because it’s their secrets, but I’ve heard about and intuited from watching how QBs even change the inflection of the last syllable or whatever to change a route or snap count, etc.
    Coach, since you had arguably one of the best ever at doing this, could you do a video or segment all on pre snap stuff? It just seems like there’s a lot on information needing to be spread in literal seconds, on the fly, to 10 other guys, and it’s fascinating to me.

    Too be fair if most of the great pass rushers would have played in 18 post season games they would have had 16 sacks plus. That becomes less impressive with as many games he played in. Imagine Reggie White or Bruce Smith in 18 post season games. Probably would have been high 20s maybe 30 plus sacks.
