Mattias Larsson has got to be hands-down the most underrated baritone of recent years. The quartet's singing at over 90, and he somehow manages to go ninja dust on every single song. An absolute Vitamix out there.
Not to mention he's gorgeous
he's not in the group anymore :(
@@patrickmeny1298 Did they disband, or switch out some members?
LifeOnTheEdge The original baritone, Mattias Larsson, left. I don’t remember exactly why, but they wrote a Facebook post about it. He was replaced by Sam Molavi.
@@patrickmeny1298 Oh. Thanks for the explanation.
"Is 'Pass Me the Jazz' even barbershop?" "What do you think Joey?" "I dunno. I don't speak Swedish"
Noah Kilgus good point😂 love new fangled four
Noah Kilgus what performance did newfangled say this? 😂
no but its really good
Graham Kozak newfangled tango
Graham Kozak the 2016 one
One thing I haven't seen anyone point out: despite the fact that they aren't dancing (I mean, except for Martin at the end there), the choreography is amazing. From the hand gestures and the genuine facial expressions to the fact that they're moving around fluently and not crashing into each other or anything, every detail is crisp and their stage presence is brilliant because of it. They rehearsed all of the directions for the parts during which they move around, like who goes in front of who when circling around beforehand, and it turned out fabulously! Fantastic work, guys.
Edit: They also somehow don't look awkward despite being very tall and lanky. I think the bend in the knees they kept throughout helped keep them from looking unnaturally tall.
The lock on "bottle of blues" at 1:31... just crazy crazy good.
god this baritone blends so well. Their sound is so pleasant to listen to
you can hear him alot better in this year's version too which makes it sooo much better :)
This performance gets BETTER every time I listen to it. I had it at 95 live, and it's an easy 97-98 now?! How is that even possible?
This song was BY FAR my favorite thing of last year's contest. My number for this would have been massive. :)
Mattias was such a great baritone. He blends in so well it's almost impossible to pick him out and listen to his part. I'm gonna miss him.
I love how they can all move around and mix parts still sound as amazing as they did at the beginning of the song. That's really hard to do in barbershop. They're amazing
if lemon squeezy get their other 2 songs up to the level of this one, they'll probably easily win next year's competition.
You mean the other 5 songs right?
yeah
Things are looking up was really good too.
Well too bad their tenor and baritone have changed now and they haven’t performed in this competition since
They're very clean and precise, but can we talk about how attractive they are? It's impossible to be this talented and that good-looking at the same time. Triggered.
Would you like a glass of water, you seem a bit thirsty. Lol
Not only do I have this saved in my "library" and not only is iy in my basic collection playlist, but I've listened to it soooo many times and it never gets stale. What a sound. So much good energy!
This deserved the highest Presentation score of the contest.
3:19 the tenor part is so cute it's amazing
1:41 when the lead taking a whiff of that smell from the oven gets picked up on the mic>>>>>>>
Ok, this was exactly what I needed to hear during self-isolation! Amazing artistry, impeccable lock-and-ring, and all the while making it look easy as pie.
I'm obsessed with this
top arrangement. pushes the boundaries with class. next years winners. Edit: the Baritone in this version of the line up is awesome.
James Jim Catt I’ll take “Comments that did not age well” for £400
@@alistairwall5470 😂😂
Such a shame that they never won the gold. They are gold medalist material quartet.
let's be real, they should have won in 2016
i love the tenor so much
I love how much they move around and switch places during the song
Best one so far, every one is very clear and has a very stunning voice
I was just listening to the Real Group’s version of this song (the original) and thought to myself, “I wish there were a TTBB version of this song so that my quartet could sing it.”
So I searched for “Pass Me the Jazz TTBB” and found this! It’s almost like magic! 🪄
I’m obviously a bit partial to the original, since five parts can make more complex and jazzy chords than just four, but this is still pretty damn good.
This is brilliant from every single aspect! Thanks guys!
God every time I come back to this song I forget what a banger it is. We’ll all make the jokes but Squeezy PLEASE COME BACK FOR ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL!!!
Man I love these guys. Gold's comin.
I like it how they make it look so easy! I've been in a quartet it's not as easy as it looks to sound like that!
The Real Lemon, The Squeezy Group? What am I supposed to call this ;) Bonus points for anyone who knows what the heck I'm saying haha!
The Real Group of course
Still frickin' amazing! xx
Höjdpunkten på hela tävlingen. Fan vad ni är snygga!
This entire song is just a metaphor for getting together and smoking weed
Bari took the show at the end like a goddang maniac
I dig this ... i hung to every note and enjoyed!
Sweden represent!
Wow! They really are tall! and their sound is real good too!
ahh i love them
Their socks are yellow. This is probably around my 10th time watching this and I didn't notice this until now.
the way Martin holds up the heart and then runs off xD
If you notice, every time he thinks they've 'killed it' he does a little dance at the end. Catch their other videos to see what I mean.
I almost forgot to watch this today
"Baselines and moonshine" Story of my life
what competition is this? Can someone tell me?How is it named?I'd love to be part of it.How can I get to do that?
+FanofCrash25 THANK YOU
If you're under 25, you can put together a quartet for this: www.barbershop.org/competitions/youth-barbershop-quartet-competition/
Enter by video, and join us in Las Vegas next summer. The top 25 quartets will compete, but all entries are invited to attend the convention and perform in a mass chorus together.
+Barbershop Harmony Society Thanks for the information . I'm 26 but I could put together a quartet even if I don't sing in it.Could they performance my arrangements and compositions?
Sure they could! Quartets perform original arrangements all the time. Just make sure that your composition fits the criteria for qualified barbershop harmony, otherwise it may not get a very high score. Find out a little bit more on page 25 of the following document: www.barbershop.org/files/documents/membership/An%20Information%20Manual%20For%20Barbershop%20Quartets.pdf
thanks a lot
How Swede of you!
I just can't believe they didn't win.
No shade at Forefront, they're also insane. This performance is just something else.
Ripacsok!!!
ERRRRRRRR
Tthat guy looks like Teo
Is this considered a boy band?
Ask Castellar

Who's still listening in 2018?
If I would have heard this group preform this I would have been am amazed but having listened to the real group's original composition... not so much.
I'd be inclined to agree with you, if this wasn't live, sung in front of thousands of people in real time... I haven't seen any videos of the Real Group's live performances of this song on RUclips that don't sound produced or prerecorded.
I'm not saying either is bad, I'm just confused on some of the musical choices they made reworking it for their quartet.
Like what? Not saying I think you're wrong, I'm just curious.
I'm no music major, but a lot of their resolving chords are... "interesting" to say the least. :59 to 1:02 for example.
And their tonality as a quartet is all over the place, 1:14 half of them are saying "Jazz" and the other's are saying "Jass".
decent, but its slow to the point of ugly and quite outside of the boundaries of 'individual expression' and the crescendo at the end of phrases is spectacularly unmusical
I'd like to hear what exactly you mean by outside "individual expression". I don't get it. Also how are you supposed to sing this faster? I think this is a very fast song.
What on earth are you yapping about
