  • This video request comes from a stay-at-home piano student that began practicing the sonata but is unable to see his teacher at the present time and asked if I could record it for him in an overhead keyboard view.
As 2020 the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth I aim to record all 32 piano sonatas before the end of the year. Beethoven 32 Piano Sonata Playlist (+ additional works - in Progress) • Beethoven

I love the 2nd movement, it's one of the most beautiful things beethoven has written.

What a beautiful sonate. It is quite extraordinary how Beethoven can make this sound so brilliant in its simplicity.

This performance just made my day! I loved Paul's accuracy and texture.
    Here is a brief analysis:
The first movement is written in standard sonata-allegro form. After the first and second theme, it moves into the recapitulation with very little development. After restating the theme in the bass with new counterpoint in the treble, the work closes with a brief coda, ending with a Picardy third.
Beethoven skips the slow movement and dance movement and moves directly to the finale, which a modified rondo in G major.

How do you press the keys so easily? It's like your fingers are made of lead, and it makes it look like you're playing with ease. I need to master this technique, especially for faster passages!

The section at 3:20 I have been playing with the left hand hitting the off notes just hard on the way the rest of the song is played but I’m curious if the way you’re playing is easier or the intended way to play it. I know Beethoven likes to reverse the roles of LH vs RH in some of his sonatas. Maybe that this section is?
