Exploring Idyllwild California In Our Black Series Overland Travel Trailer

- In this video we are exploring Idyllwild California in our Black Series Overland Travel Trailer! We will show you some things to do in Idyllwild CA, as well as show you the versatility of this Black Series Camper.
Our trip starts in Barstow California where we camp at a great BLM campground. Then we travel through Morongo Valley and down towards Palm Springs, where we find a small limit of a travel trailer of this size. We know that having an offroad trailer will cause issues and limitations but we make it work and have a good boondocking spot for the night. The next day we visit friends in Palm Springs and then make our way up HWY 74, It's windy and not for the faint of heart. Upon arriving in Idyllwild California we find out the hard way that camping near Idyllwild CA is difficult if you are looking for free options. The Black Series overland trailer is great just for this, its small, and nimble but has all the features we need. The next day we explore downtown Idyllwild California, this small town is great with many shops and stores. We also go hiking near the Idyllwild Nature Center.

We made it there a couple short drives after work. Camped along the way

How is the Black Series holding up so far?
So far it's been great. The factory 600watts and amgs were a little weak for us being full-time, but we had them swapped out. They have a lot of power options
@@AdventureEndeavor Yea we are looking at a lithium power station like an Oupes Mega 3 or and Ecoflow Delta Pro for our power solution. You can use these to power both the AC and DC. With these and an extra power station battery we can get 420 aH of lithium. Then we use the fast charging via our Honda 2000 generator to keep these topped off (takes about 3 hours to charge from 0% to 100%). We will add portable solar at a later date. This solution is MUCH less expensive than a full blown solar install and its portable an non-invasive. Cost is between $3 - $4K for this stuff.

@@AdventureEndeavor No, but we take month (or more) long trips. We did full time for about 8 months in our 5th wheel. We are in the process of down sizing our unit to a off grid, kinda off road capable travel trailer because we HATE RV parks (we used to do a lot of tent camping around Lake Tahoe area and down in the Bridgeport area)!. We like the Black Series HQ 19 (not sure about Black Series due to concerns about parts and warranty availability issues) but we also like the InTech O-V-R Navigate (less off road capable but so far WAY less warranty claims and parts are easily available). We also looked the Embers but not real keen on the build quality.
@markk171 that power set-up makes sense then. As a fulltimer warranties doesn't really mean much. You'll have to fix everything yourself, most dealers are always booked out months lol the black series seems to be built better than most in Indiana
