Thanks for posting this. I built this when I was around 10 years old in the mid-60's. It came out good, and it was my favorite in the display cabinet for many years. Wish I had a photo if it..
I still remember building that as a kid, I used my 2 dollars I got from mom for hitting a home run in Little League and bought the model and green spray paint, what I remember most was all the trouble I had getting the frame straight LOL
The grooves are in the rear tires because those are "cheater" slicks. Back in the day, the NHRA would not allow slick tires in certain classes, so the racers would cut grooves in them to get around that.
I'm working on a monster truck model kit right now, and after watching your videos I got me a bottle of the Mod Podge Super Gloss Brilliant for my clear pieces now that is all I'll use for those pieces instead of super glue from now on. What a fantastic idea.
"You build as you want" - great advice for all modelers! I also appreciate that you demonstrate techniques that are easy for beginners to put to use. Even though I am an airbrush user, I can admire your rattle can results!
Spooky cool Chris, You gotta love a kit that comes with extras 💀 We need a diorama match race w/Grampa Munster's Coffin Dragster 🦇 🦇 Thank you for the build.... Happy Halloween 🎃
Really cool -- I don't remember Aurora making such neat 1:25 cars. Loved the dry-brushing with moss green. Pity they didn't include decals to duplicate the actual finish but you made it your own, Chris. Imagine this beast with tire smoke billowing out around it all the way down the track.
I had two of these at one time my only complaint about this kit was trying to put the roll bar in it kept splitting at the top attachment point and finally I gave them to an old friend of mine , but its a cool build and maybe I will get another one!
Awesome job Chris! Loving the whitewall slicks. Really like the diorama. Thanks for saving for Halloween. I’m going to have to buy one. Thanks for review. 😈
Yeah, same here. I have this one - the George Barris "Surf Woody" - the Tom Daniel's "Dragon Wagon / Circus Wagon" - the Mooneyes Dragster - the Bob Tindel "Orange Crate" - Ed Roth "Beatnik Bandit" - and a few others in my "show rod" stash. Also, I have used that Lime Ice Lacquer on about half a dozen different builds......that color is super nice ! ..... and that old Testors Lacquer paint lays down really good !
Yes. It does look fiddely but also looks like a fun build. I had so many chances to get this kit and kept passing it up. Now that I see how it looks built up and know it's an actual dragster and seeing the other goodies that goes with it, I want it too. That being said I'll probably never see it again. I was wondering how to duplicate the paint job on the box but I liked the way you did it. Looks even better. 👍 BTY. Loved the spooky tunes,👌it was an excellent touch. 👻🎃👺💀😈🤖👽👹👿🥸🤡☠️🕷️
hey I've just come here from seeing one of your older videos on waterfalls. Have you ever tried making a waterfall based paint booth? it's a project I'm currently looking at tackling. and after watching this as my first video, thank you for some great painting insight!
Really nice Showrod/Dragster?! It stands in a row with the Boot Hill Express and the famous Munsters Dragula and the Raiders Coach. I love those spooky vehicles, not only on Halloween..
Hey Chris, that lime ice color is awesome, I use that on some of my muscle cars I build. All I can say is you did a great job on this special Halloween build. Everything about all of your detail work is amazing. I have learned a lot of neat ideas and easier ways of doing things with my models, by watching you. The other thing I really appreciate is every build you do you always stress to build your kit the way you want to. I have numerous health issues and this hobby is so relaxing, and when you say build it to make you happy, helps me to relax and have fun, and not worry what anyone else thinks. Thank you Chris, I truly enjoy and look forward to your builds on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Ok Chris new comment the only real issue I had with the last issue of this kit was the trick of getting the interior in with out breaking the roll bar ! It was like when i put the interior in it would squeeze the frame in and snap the roll bar in two! And when I asked other guys how the was able to do it , it was like asking a big secret to be shared! And I'm like wait a minute , why all the secrets? Thats kind of unfair to ask questions and I cant tell you because your not a seasond model builder when I 've probably been building longer than lots have
While you thoughtfully showed us the two easy ways to get Super Glue off our fingers (I did not know this) - you did NOT demonstrate cutting off your arm with a hack saw. Yes, you told us, but WHERE IS THE DEMONSTRATION? While your build of this extremely detailed and fidley kit was exceptional - with impressive paint and detailing - I'm downgrading my ten star rating from 11 down to 10 as this important technique went unfilmed. Spookily fun build to WATCH. Thanks for this video and I hope your arm was re-attched with no seams showing.

That dashboard trick was outstanding!! Some amazing sleight of hand work that would make the late great Ricky Jay jealous.😂😂
One of my most favorite builds I have seen you do! Happy Halloween! My eyes are gonna be looking for this kit 👀👀👀👀👀👀
Love those 60s rods!
Fiddly build...I was shaking watching you build lol.
Chris, great build....white walls give it that vintage look glad they brought this one back out.
I really like how you added the fluorescent accent to the body. Nice tip!
I still remember building that as a kid, I used my 2 dollars I got from mom for hitting a home run in Little League and bought the model and green spray paint, what I remember most was all the trouble I had getting the frame straight LOL
Fantastic building in the time you take 👍👍👍💪
That’s an awesome build.
Dang, that is a very fiddly kit. You did a great job!
great kit review and great build as well. i've been wanting this kit for quite awhile now. might even buy it for my own christmas present
Another AWESOME kit, Chris, really love the grass pad you added also!!!!!
Always enjoy your Halloween builds.

Nice build Chris, turned out well considering how delicate and finicky the kit is. Fun build for Halloween.
Love Ice Lime. Painted one of my T’Rantulas that over gold. Looks amazing. Great video!
Excellent work on building this one. Great work with the paint detail on everything. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome build Chris, fantastic paint detail! Great presentation as always!!
"You build as you want" - great advice for all modelers! I also appreciate that you demonstrate techniques that are easy for beginners to put to use. Even though I am an airbrush user, I can admire your rattle can results!
You did a great job with that kit Chris I also love that mat that you put underneath the car it adds a lot 👍👍
Been watching you for quite some time now . Always like when you tell them build it your way. What I do.
Spooky cool Chris,
You gotta love a kit that comes with extras 💀
We need a diorama match race w/Grampa Munster's Coffin Dragster 🦇 🦇
Thank you for the build.... Happy Halloween 🎃
FREAKINGLY SPOOKY BEAUTIFULLY DONE Chris, a " PERFECT " Holloween Build. GBA👍👍 Gary.
Really cool -- I don't remember Aurora making such neat 1:25 cars.

Happy Howl O' Ween! Doc! Awesome Build for the October Country.
When it starts to hurt, stop rubbing
Omg that made me laugh
Awesome build and thanks for inspiring me to get back into the hobby. 🤟🤠👍

Outstanding build!
What a great looking build sir very very cool
I just built this kit for our Halloween challenge theme this month. Tested my patience for sure, went with the full chrome. Nice job on your build.
Awesome job Chris! Loving the whitewall slicks. Really like the diorama. Thanks for saving for Halloween. I’m going to have to buy one. Thanks for review. 😈
Chris I've had one of these kits for a very long time and forgot about it. It's time to drag it out. Thanks for this review!!!

Yep used to be an Aurora kit

Great build and hope you didn't have too many fits building this
Awesome build chris 👏👌

Nice!
Looks awesome👍
Awesome job Chris, where did you get the grass mate from

This is fantastic!
It'd look good on a car huller trailer behind a Hearse.
So cool
This may be a huge ask but have you ever thought of having a channel where you build vintage kits and show how to make dioramas?
That would be fun, but two entire kits per week and tool, outdoor reviews keep me pretty busy. Thanks!
Hey man guess who meet recently and got his autograph too
HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND! 🎃 👻
It's called a potvin blower set-up. My only complaint is 50 commercials to watch a short video.
My instructions says I have two different parts labeled 56, and it seems I’m missing the front engine mounts, help?
To bad you don't have a hearse to go with it ,it would be kool

👍👍☠☠☠👍👍
Crazy that ppl buy kits and don't build them smh
Thought it was Monster family
You mean Munster family? This is an actual dragster ran by driver Carl Casper
